This restaurant is fantastic! It is always a treat to go here. The restaurant overlooks the Grand River and is just beautiful. The food is always good - I recommend the Mushroom Pizza. The Sunday Brunch is expensive but worth every penny. Fresh local food and excellent staff. I love the Cambridge Mill!

My husband and I went here last Saturday to celebrate our one year anniversary. Unfortunately near the end of our meal I found quite a large grub in the bed of kale under our steak. I was completely grossed out and shocked that this caliber of restaurant did not take the time wash their produce carefully. Our server was excellent and very apologetic however the manager on staff was not. When we showed him what had happened he offered to cover our wine. It was not until he took the plate to the chef that he came back and offered to comp the meal but we had to cover our wine. This should have been done from the get-go. He was not very apologetic and instead of being courteous and accommodating, he made excuses for the restaurant saying the produce is organic with no pesticides. I completely appreciate and respect this, but staff should be taking the time to wash food thoroughly and they should have done more to correct this mistake. We had ordered coffees at the end of the meal (our appetites had been ruined from almost eating a large bug) and these were initially not charged. We had thought they offered this as a good gesture for putting a damper on our celebration. However, when the manager came to take our payment he said there was an error and came back with another bill including the coffees. We did not make a fuss because we did not want to ruin our evening but I just found it so shocking this is how they treat customers after such a mistake.

We took my father there for his 90th birthday. I told them that we need the elevator because of their ages. They seated us at the farthest corner of the restaurant, which proved very difficult for two elderly people. The food was mediocre at best. The prime rib was sliced so thin that you could almost see through it and was so rare it was still mooing. I asked that a piece be cooked a little more, and it came out dark brown. Mediocore at best

My first and last experience: the tenderloin (8 oz) was seared too much that it was very dry on the outer edge (especially for medium rare). Burger was very dry and lacked flavour. Very disappointed.

We got engaged on the patio over the water 4 years ago and have been coming every year since for our wedding anniversary. Always a gorgeous sunset on the patio and phenomenal food and staff. Wish there were 10 stars.

In a nut shell, rude service, overly priced, cold mediocre food, low selection and as a little bonus they put a 2 hour time limit on your table without letting customers know ahead of time in any way. Shortly after the one hour mark, they bring you the bill (which is outrageous for what you get), and coldly ask you to leave at 2 hours. Absolutely ridiculous, especially at $53/person. We didn't even get a second refill of coffee let alone dessert (not that there was much to choose anyway). There are better places to eat, that won't charge half of that and will welcome your stay with fantastic service, so don't waste your money..or your 2 hours here. My family sure won't again.

My husband and I were married here on June 9 and we couldn't be happier with our decision to select Cambridge Mill as our venue. They went above and beyond to make sure we had our dream wedding. They are extremely professional and their communication is prompt and thorough. We received tons of compliments from our guests about the quality of the dinner and they were blown away by the gorgeous scenery as well as the Pavilion/ Reception & Cocktail spaces. Special thanks to our consultant Amanda, and our concierges for the evening Megan and Mel. We are so appreciative of everything the Cambridge Mill team did for us - thank you for making our day so wonderful!

Sunday Brunch at this beautiful venue was excellent. Food quality was top notch, selection amazing and the service first class. Our group of 11 people (10 years old to 80) was seated side by side at 2 tables overlooking the river and we couldn't have asked for a nicer spot - better than one big table actually. Our 25 year old has a few food allergies and made the Mill staff aware. They immediately provided personal one on one assistance to review all the food items thoroughly which he very much appreciated.
Admittedly, we were initially a little hesitant booking at $50. per but absolutely worth the money! We'll be back for sure.
Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.

My uncle 80 years of age had his vehicle break down today in front of your facility today. As he has no cell phone he asked to use your phone to call me. According to your staff there is no outgoing phone. He walked to the bowling alley where I was contacted. This caused about an hour or more of inconvenience to all traffic trying to get home in rush hour. I find it hard to believe that there was not a phone, a staff cell phone or even an offer help. It was an obvious traffic problem that lasted more than 2 hours before CAA showed up. I am very upset that this day and age a phone call can not be accommodated.

I don't know what to say. Had great meals there before but tonight was one of the worse meal I ever had. Slow service, dried up lamb and a piece of tasteless cabbage big enough to feed a family in the middle of the plate. The four of us had nothing to say about our meals, the only positive was good company.

Attended a special occasion at the mill for brunch. While I did not find fault with food or service I did find fault with traffic patterns and having to walk through very crowded entrance hall with plates full of food items. Very difficult to maneuver and not really sanitary.

45-day aged, 14 oz rib eye steak was well seasoned and approached medium rare (a little closer to rare, but I don't mind). The same may be said about the 28 oz porterhouse steak for two. I would have preferred a rib eye on the bone, but the overall experience was quite positive. Would I go back? No question. It started with the perfect spicy Caesar...horseradish will always be tastier than hot sauce. The service was spot on and the manager's personal touch puts it over the top.
My next visit will be for the breakfast buffet. I hear it's the greatest.

I've been here before and did enjoy it for the most part however this time not so much. The place is lovely, most staff are friendly. Food is good quality. On this visit we could tell the appetizer was forgotten until something jogged the memory then as we paid they remembered my special event.. oops to late for dessert and then jam was spilled on my jacket. Both servers noticed but said nothing. Oh well. Perhaps a little more training.

It was an ok experience here. The steak was very raw and bloody which I didn't mind, but some other people requested it more well done and it was completely raw. Also, I think that the "wedding suit" should be a bit bigger. If a bride needed to change in there, they wouldn't have any room to do so. I don't know how a whole wedding party would be able to fit in there.

Tried the brunch for the first time today, was very good. Lots of choice and a very well laid out design. All of our food looked and tasted fresh, great selection of seafood and hot entrees. I thought it was a little pricey for a brunch until I realized the price included our caesars and mimosas! Solid...they ve done a great job with this brunch. Check it out

The host was wonderful and the food was great as well as the views of the water. However our server was less than pleasant. He never introduced himself (had to wait for the receipt to find his name was Paul). Took our food order and walked off without asking if we would like drinks so we got up from our table to go find him and finish placing our order.
He was not pleasant or very attentive.
After we paid (and regrettably tipped well) he said "thanks" and walked away. I guess we expected a courteous server. Unfortunately the service did not represent the fine establishment and I will not be returning.

had my birthday there and everyone felt the same that it was an extremely slow service. and extremely high prices (which I dont mind paying) but found the food was meh/alright but not likely I would go there again. definitely had a bad oyster there and was sick soon as I got home. and was 3 hrs for dinner which is insane especially when I had to work after.

Probably my favourite restaurant in the region. The menu is fresh and experimental without pushing the boundaries too much for the demographic. Atmosphere is great. You really feel like you're at a destination rather than just a place to eat. While harvests vary, the oysters we had were outstanding. Would highly recommend the flourless chocolate torte to finish. With sea buckthorn and some kind of creamed gorgonzola, the dish is carefully curated and delightfully unusual.

I have been a guest at The Cambridge Mill for about 4 weddings now and have to say both the good and the bad. Unfortunately the officiant that is included in the packages at the venue is awful. He performed the same ceremony for each of my friends with no deviation which was upsetting for the couples and took over making the ceremony about himself and not the couple. Guests were shocked. My one friend cried because this is what all of her guests were talking about. That being said the food was amazing! The service throughout dinner was spectacular and all the staff were so kind.

This place makes for a very delicious restaurant to relax in romance, to the beautiful views of the Grand River. It s a wonderful venue for a wedding or if you just want to eat fancy. The whole experience was impressive. The service was amazing and the food was very delicious! The prices are higher then most places. But that s because it s a classy fancy restaurant. I can highly recommend this place as overall it was a very nice, pleasant experience!

Wonderful buffet with beautiful view. All foods were tasty, and staff was nice and friendly. Crepes cooked with a pillar of fire upon order was really good for deserts. Though it is quite pricey for brunch or lunch, highly recommend.

Great place for weekday specials. We had our 24th anniversary here on when they have there 2 steak and wine dinner special. We were made to feel special sitting next to the big windows with the river going by and gave us complimentary champagne since they knew it was our anniversary. We will be going back for a couple of their other specials they have during the week.

Okay, the food is good, but the staff acts like a condescending teenager. I don't feel offended by him, but I thought it was funny. Just because how I dressed myself today? He rushed my order, didn't allow me to complete my question, like are you kidding? Who do you think you are??

I don't typically review something this low in star rating but I had to for this one. It's expensive, the food tastes as bland as paper, and the worst offender of all is that there is no creativity in the food whatsoever.
When I go to a restaurant, especially ones which were as expensive as this, I want to see something new and creative, Like flavours that I have never thought to combine and styles which can only be present in the chefs that work there. None of that exists here. Instead, expect the same food you would get at any generic restaurant.
This place only appeals to the rich baby boomer, I have seen some younger folk here, (ages 20 to 30) but they're always either a) on a date, or b) with their parents. Appealing to boomers is the worst thing a company can do because once they retire or die off, then so will the business.
I have gone to this restaurant 4 times so far. Everytime I heavily regret it afterwards. ( One time, after eating the prime rib at a buffet their, I got sick and had to leave early.)
I am giving this restaurant 2 stars for a few reasons. The staff were very kind and helpful,
The view was nice,
There was a very nice appearance of cleanliness. (although I don't expect the kitchens to be similar to the lobby's.)
That's all I can think of. The food was bland and heavily under-seasoned, There is very little choice, the drinks were warm and unappetizing, and the view (contradicting what I said earlier because that is only some of the times) is obstructed by crackheads and drug addicts from the bridges down the street.
I hope that this review is read by the business owner. The only way to improve is through criticism. I hope that one day you'll improve, I hope that when I return in a year or two that the food will be improved and allow for more creativity in the senses.
This is not the fault of the employees, this is the fault of whoever runs this place. Please improve, and please prove me wrong .

Went for our anniversary dinner. My wife had the steak frites and I had the barbecue meal. My wife said the steak was good but she was expecting better. I had the pulled pork and brisket. Pulled pork, slaw and potato salad were awesome. I found the smoke flavour on the brisket to be a little too strong and wasn't quite sure what to make of the green sauce that came with it. I found the sauce to be quite flavorless. That being said, the brisket was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection.

Sunday brunch for Wedding shower with 6 women. Food was fantastic. Service excellent. Favourite items were freshly shuked oysters and primerib. Dessert was ok, but not a huge selection. Great coffee! Will definitely be back.

This was my first visit to the Cambridge Mill.
Appreciated the covid precautions being taken by staff.
Terrace dining was still available...had an "outside feel" with amazing view.
Beautiful repurposed building.
Was a little concerned the food would be "too fancy" for my dining companion who is a fussy eater.
While oysters and duck confit salad (for example) were on the menu, so was a four cheese pizza and burger and fries.
Menu was limited, but larger portions than expected and delicious!
Staff very attentive.
A lovely experience.
