The pillows are uncomfortable and inferior to the intercontinental, and the Intercontinental offers a list of pillows to choose from, including latex pillows. There was no soft drink at the buffet dinner on the first floor. There was only a simple white water and tea, which was a bit of an accident.
When leaving the store, the Concierge staff received my 15 yuan parking fee and did not provide an invoice. In fact, he did not give me an invoice.
Not easy to catch a taxi unless you are going to the airport.

Superb hotel in a convenient location. The gym was excellent and the restaurants were all great. The spa was luxurious and the lounge was decadent. Love love love. The only shortfall was the lobby which could get busy and took a long time to get to check in.

Nice high floor view and a very huge and nicely made up bed. Location is good and hotel hardware and amenities are fabulous except for the shower head where the water pressure is a bit weak.
Not cheap, but top level. Price indication...1500 /7days, with no happy ending. For this U pay 2000 extra.

We understand the hotel is very busy. But because we are the Jade Member, we even have to wait to check in when we arrive at 5:00pm waiting for the room.
Further, house keeping came in suddenly which I only experienced in this hotel.
Hotel has been nice to offered for extra amenity which we can go to the lounge for such convenience.
However, the room has always been great and comfortable. The bed is really nice.
We understand the whole issues are due too many people for the holiday season. but we should address it for further training and education.

This hotel is beyond any fair expectation. Super comfortable & modern rooms ... excellent breakfast, top location and very friendly & helpful staff. Yes it is expensive ... but worth every dollar!

Its a Beautiful new hotel, fantastic spa/gym, great breakfast. My room was somewhat ordinary and small and I would have preferred a bigger bed. It was also too warm and not resolved until day two of my stay. I had trouble sleeping in the warm room as a result. Please stop people from using their mobile phones in the spa area, I do not think it is a good practice and it violates privacy with cameras.
I booked a king room but ended up getting a twin. Was very disappointed. Also very poor service
The Jing An Shangri-La Shanghai is one of the best hotels I have stayed in any where in the world, and superior to the China World Hotel in Beijing in stay in regularly over the past 15 years. In particular, I would like to mention the outstanding service provided to me by Mr Marco Bao, the front office Concierge, who helped me purchased a suitcase within 2 hours and had it delivered to my room, as my old suitcase was damaged during my travel in China. The entire front desk team couldn't be more helpful and efficient. I will now stay at your hotel everytime I am in Shanghai.
We are supposed to have a pleasant trip in Shangri la hotel in shanghai this time. However, we ordered the late meal at late evening Dec 25, or early morning Dec 26. I can' t remember the exact date. I ordered 2 bowl of congee , and asked for some salty duck egg for it. However, when the food was coming, I found out the duck egg was eaten by some other customers. It looked like it was from some residue of other customers. It was totally unacceptable and disgusting. I just can't believe it was from a room service of a 5 star hotel of Shangri la.

This review only for the Bar on the 4th floor. Ordered 2 cocktails. Ordered a bottle of water a few minutes later. The wrong drinks came after about 20 minutes. The right drinks never arrived as we left after 30 minutes total.
The building is clean and the view from the guest room is the attraction point.
Everyone was extremely helpful. You accommodated both an early check in and late check out. Breakfast at the lounge was delicious, and the staff very helpful. The room was lovely.
Room was beautiful but the hotel staff was rude. I got the distinct impression that they really don't like Americans that much. I'll find another place to spend my American dollars next trip.
The rooms are beautifully furnished and mine had a fabulous view. The location is excellent as well with easy access to roads and the Metro. The food for the Gala Dinner I attended was first rate.
Compliment for the check-in staff-Apple. She is really professional and well trained. The staff for a Housekeeper who made us our room. And the bellman- Andrew (not sure the name) with the glasses, he was so kind for offering us the direction of the Train station. I really enjoy the stay in Jinan Shangri-La. My son and I went there to study every night. The staff of the Horizon Club gave us very caring attention. We feel very warm. Many people say that Shanghai's hardware is very good, but there is still much room for improvement in software. But this time in Jingan Shangri-La's experience, I sincerely feel that Shangri-La's management is first-class, the care and dedication of the service staff, and the smiles and sincere greetings from each of them, we are very touched. Any problems we encountered at the hotel were solved efficiently and satisfactorily. Our family said that next time you come to Shanghai, you must stay in Jingan Shangri-La again! I have been staying at this Hotel during last 5 years and have enjoyed every stay. Horizon Club is the best of best. The staff at Horizon club; Cherry, Coco, Alice and July so caring, attentive and pleasant. Can not do enough for you. The decor and the view on the 55th floor in un-matched. Visiting this club level is an experience by itself. Excellent breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktail hour food. The rooms at the hotel are very nicely decorated and very spacious. The location is also the best in Shanghai. Very close to Nanging Street where all the designers shops and boutiques are located. Couldn t ask for more.

At the time of check-in, I was told that the $100 spent by FHR could be used as a hotel car. At check-out, I would like to ask for the amount (or add money) to use the hotel car. But was told not to. It was the front desk error at check-in. The manager s attitude is still very poor. Makes me feel unrespected.
Money is not a big problem, I just want to use the benefits that can be used. I will not stay in this Shangri-La! !

This was my first stay at your hotel , but not my first time in Shanghai . I was really pleasantly surprise with the friendly atmosphere and the easy service in English . One of your employee Mme Christina Li , was exceptionally good . She went above normal service to help me with many questions I had. She did this with professionalism and with a little side of friendship with made me feel like home . The rooms and restaurants are beautiful , and as expected for a hotel of this level.

Improvement opportunity for breakfast buffet restaurant. Food that should be served warm is consistently room temperature to tepid, at best...and often cold (irrespective of time of morning).
And food selection is "almost" identical each day.
But other than that, hotel was great

Excellent location and service, as usual. Unfortunately, return of recurring problem with HVAC. The air conditioning did not work in the room which made it about 3 degrees warmer than the hallway and the rest of the hotel. Plus, our Western exposure added a few more degrees even with the curtains down.
This was my 10th time at your hotel. Very good experience, but a bit less perfect than the other times.
The arrival was a disaster: there were thousands of teenagers yelling and invading the hotel.
I noticed small sign of cost reduction which I did not like. For example: why did you take away the note pad on the night table? For me it is very useful.
Another example: I noticed that the staff uniforms were a bit (too much) worn out.
Another example: on my night bed there was the publicity for a cocktail at the hotel bar. I do not like this kind of commercial pressure!
A negative experience at Cafe Liang: very poor service.
On the contrary I have to mention the staff at the Horizon Club: very friendly and helpful.
I tried mobile booking, check in and check out. The experience was not satisfactory. Check in was convenient but I missed the smiles of your staff. It was the hospitality that I treasured most. My bill was over the pre-authorisation limit. Your mobile app could have alerted me to pay at the cashier. I was very disappointed at the auto generated notice that my balance (RMB 50), would be due in a week. How on earth would I know how much your hotel had already charged my credit card without giving me a payment slip? Even worse, your duty manager sent me an email asking me to pay through a link. This appeared to be a phishing email link that gave me necessary stress.
I am disappointed.
Shangri-La Jingan is the best hotel I've tried in Shanghai. Airport pick and quick check-in are very much appreciated when travelling to Shanghai in the late night. Kerry shopping center is very fantastic, and only 2 minutes walking distance to Metro line 2 and line 7.
The location is very good, you can overlook the night view of Shanghai on the 53rd floor, the dining is also above the standard, very good, but the staff at Check In is not very enthusiastic, there is room for improvement.
Attentive, friendly and efficient service in a comfortable and tastefully designed hotel. The breakfast buffet had a large amount of options which were all of a high standard. The only negative was the lifts took a long while to come during busy times.
Excellent stay. Service throughout our stay was excellent. The Horizon Lounge was somewhat busier than we have experienced in other Shangri-la hotels but this was because of the Chinese New year. However we received great personal service from everyone from the Manager down. Special mention should go to Coco Li who kindly assisted my wife in obtaining medication when she fell ill.
i wish to commend all your staff such as Tommy, Cherie and Jenny in the Horizon Club Lounge... Christina in the lobby...and the wonderfully efficient Annie, the housekeeper for 4409. Frank in the reception office is a jewel.

My experience started with some incidences, but they could be solved by your competent senior staff - the last days of my stay were quit pleasant. I found that starting the day with a breakfast in the 55th floor restaurant which was normally very quiet especially comfortable. Rooms were spacious and left nothing to complain about. Would be pleased to have the chance to come back soon

The room is neat and tidy, nice aircon in the room, glad if there is a bathroom scale. More TV channels would be great. The morning western breakfeast could have more selections. Chinese breakfast is excellent.
We had a phenomenal experience at the Jing-an Shangri La West Shanghai. The service was exceptional, the hotel was very clean, the views from the rooms were incredible, the rooms are modern decorated and very airy. The Chinese restaurant on premise was very delicious and well priced. Highly recommended.

Good location, relative newer interior & with CNBC channel (compared with Pudong Shangri-La). However, if staffs have more "smile" and pay more attention & observation on guests, that would be much better in terms of service by 5-star / top tier hotel.
Amazing beds, so comfortable. The rooms are extremely quiet which makes sleeping so easy. Beautiful view and a great steakhouse in the hotel. Room service is just ok though. The hotel is very centrally located.

After a very unpleasant stay in poorly maintained and managed HK Island Shangri-La, I told myself not to stay in Shangri-La anymore. However, I have to stay in JingAn Shangri-La this time to follow corporate meeting arrangement. I must say it is a delighted stay. As always, this Shangri-La reflects the hotel s standard and the employees quality. It reminded me that Shangri-La is still a trusted brand. Staff are very friendly and hotel room is very well maintained. In room dining is delicious. Fitness center is well equipped. Will come back again.
My front desk experience was great, Alisa Yun (Hope spelling is correct) was helpful, polite and friendly. On top, I am amazed with Neil, Resident Manager. Extremely approachable and helpful, to the extent, personally helped me to send my stuff to my room!
Hello! In fact, the overall satisfaction is that the last time, in late November 2017, the sanding pad was dirty and the bed was not well organized.
In the past year, the horizontal club, in the afternoon and evening, the snacks and beverages have dropped, the number of people is very small, I still have a lot of people!
There are fewer welcome guests in the lobby!
Even though I had arranged hotel transportation, I wasn't met at the airport arrival area by a hotel representative and had to call the hotel to track someone down. After 20 hours of travel the one thing you want is for the transportation to the hotel to be seamless and without incident. Definitely not the case this time. When I finally arrived at the hotel, I had booked a grand premier Horizon Club room and was given what was previously a premier corner room. Apparently room categories changed after my reservation and I ended up being assigned a lesser room than I had booked. Eventually I was moved to the room type I had thought I booked, but only after 30 minutes of dithering and hand wringing by the staff. So, after not being met at the airport and then being given a lesser room than I expected, the stay did not start very well. The next morning I went to the Horizon Club for breakfast and ordered a waffle for breakfast, only to be told the waffle maker was broken. It remained broken the whole week I was there. For heaven sake, buy another waffle maker. They are very cheap. Don't offer something on your menu that you consistently can't deliver. On the plus side, the room and housekeeping was excellent. Also, the driver that took me to the airport was very helpful in retrieving my mobile phone after I had left it in the car.
there's something happened the day when I check out. I addressed this case to the hotel management and also the inapps feedback. and I wanna understand how this case will be handled. I wanna express again, im not asking any compensation for this complaint. what I want to know is how to avoid this happen anymore. my feedback to that staff is, he shouldn't handle any front desk tasks that directly with any hotel guest. this case happened right before CNY.... as a traditional mind set person, I don't want this complaint will seriously hurt that staff's career. but I wish he can understand his behavior will destroy his future if it happen again. and to the hotel management, place right person in the right position this is the key of their role. pls dun reply with a standard format email. pls give some heart to write me back. thank you.

Horizon club lounge has impressive breakfast manual. Waitress are bit of lack of experience though. Overall service is good at the lounge.

of course the hotel is beautiful and well kept. but it's the management and staff that sets the hotel apart from other hotels. Marge De Leon is vigilant about making sure everyone is being taken care of, Cherry on the Horizon floor is absolutely the best, always looking after me making sure i'm happy, she's terrific. all the staff even when i left the hotel - Wanyi in the lobby was engaging and gracious, especially for her young years - most impressive. the hotel is great, but the staff made the experience memorable, thank you.
