Delicious desserts and fantastic service. My wife and I wanted a stacked donut wedding cake and, the staff at Cake and Loaf Bakery was very excited to help us make our idea a reality. They were very professional, helpful and quick to return our calls. They took care of setting up the cake on the wedding day, and they did not disappoint. We received a lot of compliments from our guests as to how great the cake looked and how fresh it tasted. The quality of the product on the day of the wedding was the same quality we had previously experienced with Cake and Loaf throughout the planning process. We would highly recommend Cake and Loaf for any special occasion.

Unfortunately I appeared to have gone at a bad time (though I thought I would be safe Saturday of the Labour Day long weekend). Not much selection available, only a couple kind of cookies. Premium Bakery location so the prices were high for coffees and cookie.

Fantastic bakery!! I see other reviews complaining about size and eating in...get over it! Take your tasty snacks and hit a park or something! The point here is that the rum soaked fruitcakes at Christmas were brilliant! I ordered a vegan chicken pie and had so many compliments in it. Yes, it's a small space...but see here's the thing, Order Ahead! They have a great online service. All of my baked goods were fresh and ready for pick up.

There's not a better bakery in the city. Quality of goods, quality of service...both are top shelf, 5 star, 5 diamond, 10 out of 10. You do yourself a disservice not going there right now to experience it.

Fantastic little local bakery filled with lots of pride and tasty-ness. I had their rainbow Pie and it was delicious. There are also a lot of little treats that you can get, and various coffees and beverages. They do great custom cakes which must be pre-ordered in advance.

It might cost a little extra, but the food is fantastic and the staff is great.

What a gem!! Hamilton is lucky to have this lovely little place owned and operated by people who care about what they do! Even as they serve you, you can see the look of "you are so going to love this!" in the server's eyes... and it's on Dundurn Street! In hamilton!!! Try the pumpkin spice latte square. You'll love it!

Everything is delicious here. Recently ordered a sirracha pretzel, fantastic. We've done all of our kids' birthday cakes here, they always look fantastic and taste amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Cake & Loaf is a fun place to go for excellent baked goods or even just a cup of coffee... Good luck leaving with only a coffee!

OMG The best bakery every! I got a chocolate cake for my husbands B-Day the best ever. They do it all from scratch and you can tell the flavour is incredible.

My absolute favourite bake shop & latte stop in the city. Sweet & savoury, I have never been disappointed. Added bonus - they are a living wage employer!

These fantastic ladies carved a caribou onto a rocky cliff with water below out of CAKE! It was amazing, and the vanilla cake with lemon inside was absolutely fantastic. They worked with me to create a perfect gift, even though my original ideas were vague. Thank you!

These guys are amazing. A little pricey but worth it. If you need a really good last minute cake they usually have ones you can grab but it is first come first serve so best to call ahead of time. They also do holiday cookie trays which are really good.

Always great food and coffee. Lovely service. This place uses great ingredients giving me peace in mind.

Quick, friendly service with delicious baked goods. This is all crammed into a Locke St-esque sized building. They had many sweet things such as cinnamon buns slathered with cream, a big cookie with mini-eggs, even pretzels and scones. They also serve hot and cold drinns, so if say they are a plus for the area. Worth going into but they are a little expensive. Bring lots of money!

Excellent baked goods!! A bit expensive but definitely worth it

We don't go much anymore, but we do love their chocolatier and new local coffee initiative. We used to love this local bakery for all things baked and sweet, but about two years ago things changed. Their quality became inconsistent, particularly during busy holidays, and their prices went up. The turning point was a bad Easter experience. We stood in line for a long time, and were eager to try their beautiful looking treats. We bought an eclair, several boxes of chocolate eggs, and an expensive meat pie. Total bill was about $70. The eclair was inedible, one box of eggs tasted off like toothpaste (the other was great), and the pie was grossly oily and not very appetizing. We feel they're products have become overly sweet, and made pretty for instagram, but their quality is not great. They're still good, and worth a visit if you're from out of town, but now we mainly go to Weil's or Bitten (both local), or Kelly's bake shop (Burlington).

Local and amazing. Before you complain about prices, remember, they're a small business that pays a living wage to their staff!

Incredible place! I love everything they make here. The baked goods are to die for, the coffee is excellent, the staff are the greatest, and pretty much everything else is good too. May be slightly dangerous to live close by, but it's worth it. :D

I have been here twice now in a span of a few years. The first visit I tried the mini egg latte, mini egg cheesecake, lemon cheesecake and cream egg brownie. The best items were the cheesecake. The second time I visited, Wednesday February 5 2020 around 2pm, I got 4 Nutella cheesecakes and one mini cinnamon bun. Disappointed they were sold out of the Nutella Belgiums. Parked on a side street and walked over as only two parking spots beside the location. Great tasting items but pricey. Not a place I visit often but for certain seasonal items.

Put crust was tough and inedible. Pie looked lovely in the box, filling was tasty but the crust was so thick and so hard it could barely be sliced let alone eaten. Terrible disappointment for a $19 pie.

Favourite bakery in the city. Everything is delicious and fresh. Always interesting and new things. A must visit.

There's almost always a line and you should get in it. There's a line for a reason. The wait is 100% worth it. I've loved every single thing I've purchased so far. Cookies. Cakes. Bread. Pretzels. Oh god...the pretzels. Mmmmmm...

Tried their pumpkin cheesecake pie and it was decadent and super flavourful - however I feel like their pie was extremely overpriced. I only got a small pie, which I was told is 4 inches (I didn't get to see the product prior to purchasing as it was curb-side pick-up), but when I got my pie, it was literally the size of a buttertart and I paid almost $9 for it! I think it would be worth the time to grab a full sized pie - but don't buy the minis as they're not worth the money for a couple bites.

Can't go wrong with the breads and pastries here. The space in this location is small and cute.

Everything they make is absolutely delicious and worth every penny. If you are stopping in to pick up baked goods, do yourself a favour and get a latte, you will not be disappointed. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and patient.

Visiting the farmers market location has become a weekend go to spot for delicious baked goods and fresh bread. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

We have been visiting Cake and Loaf for several years. Every visit we are greeted warmly and every item we get is excellent. These are clearly people who love what they do.

Fantastic bakery and coffee shop. Staff is very freindly and helpful when making cake decisions. Had the pumpkin spice latte and the lemon scone which were both excellent, great spot to start a walking adventure through the shops on locke street.

This place saved my bacon on my dad's birthday for having ready-made birthday cakes after my baking turned out to be a disaster. Thanks Cake & Loaf!

Went to buy a cake, and I understand that you should order ahead but I didn't. Went in and tried to order a cake but they didn't have the size or kind. So I went with all different variables until the guy finally said "oh ya, we can do that". Did this about 4 times, and when I finally eat the cake, it was dry and with flavorless icing.
I'm sure their pastries were great but cakes? Maybe I caught them on a bad day.

Parking is pretty decent in the area, I've yet to be unable to stop within walking distance. The store front itself is fairly small but the service even when busy has always been friendly and helpful with a smile.

The baked goods are delicious, everything I've had from there has at the very least been good if not excellent. We will likely be doing all our Easter dinner sweets from here.

If there is any negative I can say about my experiences here is the prices. Although on par and equal with other artisan bakers it still seems a bit high to me. That being said the quality is always there and I've yet to be disappointed so I will continue to spend the few dollars more for the bread and treats.

Very quaint and lovely place that offers sandwhiches and pies and treats. I loved the set up and the staff are amazing!

We go here regularly with our daughter who attends the school across the street and we are never disappointed with the goods we purchase.

Amazing cakes! I got a regular chocolate and and some vegan chocolate cupcakes. Both amazing and couldn't tell it was vegan!

Hidden gem! This is the best way to describe this business. What a sweet delight! Our first visit consisted of the purchase of sweetness which made a lasting, sweet, favourable impression. It's the creativity that stands out the most. Don't expect the expected. If your looking for the bakery on Dundurn, just follow the traffic jam. Parking is TIGHT. Be patient. It's worth it.

Love this bakery. Yesterday was my first time coming to Cake and loaf bakery. Bought some unicorn goodies to show support for Pride month. Also bought a pink lemonade which was delicious! The staff were so helpful and patient as I had no idea what I wanted. Spent a small fortune but it was completely worth it. You are paying for someone s wages and for the ingredients to make the delicious products you buy. So before you complain about the price, be mindful as to why it costs the amount on the products. Everything was fantastic and packaged very nicely. Support local business!

Looking for good tasting baked goods. Cakes, bars, cookies and even add a latte. All freshly made, new ideas popping up all the time. Not your ordinary bakery!!!

I just had catering from cake and loaf for 2 days of lunch at our company and it was fantastic.... unfortunately it was so good I had to stop by the store on the weekend for an apple crumble pie... well 2 days later and no pie... life is too short for not experiencing fantastic desert.. thank you Cake and Loaf!!

There are no words for how incredible the staff and treats are here. They have unique and always delicious treats that cannot be found anywhere else. C and L has become a semi regular weekend stop. It involves a trip from another town, but it's always worth it.

So many amazing treats. Only problem is trying to decide and the guilt when you think about the number of calories you just consumed. Also make a mean Mac and pulled pork pie.

I was very happy with the natural red velvet wedding cupcakes and cake topper Nickey created for us. Nickey was very supportive in helping us choose the right cupcakes and very creative when it came to custom designing our cake decorations. She took great care in making sure we were happy with everything including making us samples for testing multiple times. The cake looked beautiful and tasted just as delicious as it looked! Her cream cheese icing is amazing!

Best little bakery around. Excellent desserts and fresh-baked bread. Also serve coffee by local roasters. Great place to buy fresh bread, desserts or coffee. Expensive $$$ but good.

So much goodness in one store. All the sugary sweet options are on point and they also make a great espresso. If youre looking for a personalised cake be sure to talk to them.

Incredible little shop! Amazing baked goods and selection that is always changing. Everything sells fast because of the quality. They have a premium coffee selection as well. The service is very friendly and fast.

Got the brownie, cheesecake cupcake, and cream whoppie cookie. Everything was a bit too sweet. Brownie was by far the best item. Have to try other treats there but definitely not in a rush to go back. On the plus side, The staff is awesome and super friendly!

Overpriced. Not very professional. They take on more orders than they can fill. Quality of products were not great. Pies leave much to be desired. I applied for a job there and had a interview. Glad I was not hired as they seem to be homophobic and racially biased. There are no vegan or sugar free options. Which I wanted to introduce.
I will stick to old school bakeries and delicatessens elsewhere.

Everything is good! Great selection of baked goods, cakes, pies and cookies. I always leave with extras because there is some new treat to try.

Stopped by to grab a cream egg brownie that I ve been seeing all over Instagram. It was worth the hype! Huge, delicious brownie with all the right toppings. Service was friendly. Prices are high. Paid around $8 for the brownie.

Peanut butter squares are very good and not too sweet. As is everything.

So many great things to say about Cake and Loaf. For starters, they are an equitable business who pay their employees a living wage.

Everything is made from scratch on sight. They sell fresh breads, desserts, muffins, salads, sandwiches, soups, and of course delicious coffee and cakes and pies!

They will do special orders to meet any of your needs. My favourite thing they make is a vegan date square. They keep them cold, so that with a black coffee is heaven sent.

Good people making good food. They are an asset to our neighbourhood!

Love this place! delicious, yummy treats and coffee/tea drinks. Almost all their treats are great. I've had some lacklustre selections though. I used to love their chai latte but my last one was so bland. Perhaps the tea needs to steep for longer or steep the teas before a person orders so it doesnt taste like milky water. Also their items are pricey. $7.50- $8.50 for a brownie. $4 for a cookie. I'll still go here but i have to eat here less often.

This place is never open unless you're a stay at home mom or without a job to catch them on hours that regular people function. Also overpriced with most of their products.

Only took you two weeks to reply. Could have grown full soy beans by then. Also, respect for noticing that you've lost Batman for life. Your cakes are under appreciated and underwhelming. Peace be with you indoor cats. Don't ask Batman to save you...

A little bakery with so much!

What started as essentially a 2 gal operation has continued to grow. Locally sourced ingredients make fantastic baked goods and lattes / coffees. They also have great supper options available -- like chicken and beef pies as well as many vegan options ( cashew cream vegetable pie) there is always vegan optioned deserts. Custom cakes are a real treat. Check em out.
