A really neat yet really small aquarium. Not the aquarium to go to to see many big aquatic ocean animals but definitely worth the look around. Pretty cheap given the species of the fish they have. A really neat experience to at least stop by and check out.

Love visiting this amazing place. Been here a few times took the little one here and had a great time on Saturday. Donations $5 dollars for adults & $1 dollar for children. Very well kept, clean, restrooms are available high standards. Easy to navigate with out a directory even when they provide all that information at the front entrance. The staff are very helpful & friendly, you can count on their knowledge and direction for the most pleasurable experience here.

I learn something new everytime I come here, they even have workshops for educators and fun activities for the kids.
Need I mention their cool gift shop loaded with all your aquatic and marine life novelties, something for everyone.
They have a large parking area in front with self paid stations.
Always look forward to visiting.

Always a fun stop. Its a very small but informative aquarium. Best time to go is durimg a grunion run event and then hang out to check out the grunions or fish at their pier. Usually plenty of parking. No fee for the aquarium. Give a donation. Stop by the gift store. Have a fun day

We LOVED this place!! The animals are beautiful, well kept and enjoyed. There are animal experiences you can pay extra for in which you get to hold/touch/interact with a bunch of different types of animals. The employees are nice and helpful. We will definitely be back!!

The exhibits are interesting. Nice place to spend at least part of your day. Great friendly helpful staff. I myself prefer this aquarium than the gimmicky Aquarium of the Pacific down in L.B.

Excellent. I recall visiting this Aquarium several years ago while doing Marine Biology. The facility exists on donations but there is a wealth of knowledge backed by ongoing research that everyone should be exposed to. It is worth a visit!

I absolutely love it here. It is a relatively small location. Aside from the actual aquarium, they have a touch tank, an aquarium nursery, library, and a small gift shop. This place is particularly great to bring little ones. Plus it's affordable enough to bring the whole family and the beach is right on the opposite end of their parking lot.
Please make sure to donate! They run the entire facility off of donations and they do a great job! They even have special events at an extra cost, usually it's not too pricey.

Family membership for $75.

Family membership for $75.
Good deal. $25 gift card for Happier Camper Cafe included if you use Camper discount at checkout online. See photo.

Parking costs $1/hour. It s ok if only the parking meters would be functional. 3 out of 4 parking meters were out of order when I visited in January 2021. I left a voicemail at the service number provided. Its been 3 days without a response.

Great little Aquarium for families! It's right near the beach so you can visit the aquarium and then go for a picnic at the beach, without moving your car. There's also a pier for fishing here. The aquarium is great for younger kids with a hands on touch pool.... great gem!!

My 4 and 6 year old loved this small aquarium. It is next to the beach, so can go swim after. It is free, but I gave the suggested donation, so $20 for 2 adults and 2 kids. There are a decent amount of animal exhibits and they have a touching pond and you get to hatch fish eggs. It is no Aquarium of the Pacific, but for the price and it being next to the beach, it is a must see if in Long Beach.

Cannot beat free/suggested donation. Parking was $1/hour but you can get in and out in no more than 2 hours. Love the 2 jellyfish exhibits, and there was a whale skeleton model (or is it real?) hanging on the ceiling. This place is small but you know it's not there for profit (not commercialized like the Aquarium of the Pacific). It provides great learning opportunity for children. We came here on a school field trip and we came back again a month later. They are also right next to the beach with a swing and a slide in case you have small children.

For some it may not be much to look at in comparison to the Aquarium of the Pacific, but it has a cozy and homey feeling that is just comforting. There's a lot to learn and the staff is extremely helpful and involved. It seems like they thoroughly enjoy contributing to the education and understanding of the oceans, its inhabitants, and its conservation. I enjoy coming and taking a walk down the tranquil beach. They have lots of events over the weekend, usually free of charge.

Way better than the Long Beach aquarium. At only a quartet the size the Cabrillo aquarium had more interesting things to see and do like a tide pool walk & a touch lagoon. Though you wont see large exhibits of seals & etc the Cabrillo makes up for it with labs you can walk into and large preserved animals on display such as a humbolt squid thats like 5ft long, or a football angler fish the size of a football, and a baby great white shark. To top it all off its right on a nice quaint scenic beach tucked away from hustle and bustle -plus its free to go in, they strongly suggest a dollar donation per kid and a 5 dollar donation per adult.
