Very informative place and the staff is kind and incredibly knowledgeable!
Great place for kids! Bring aluminum cans for donation.
Much larger than I realized, super educational, super cool, student friendly & photographer friendly! I've been saying for years I should check it out & finally did. Kids would absolutely love this & learn something too! And make sure to leave a donation!
Free! But you should donate cause this place is AWESOME. really fun to learn about tides and touch the sea life in the animal pools. Surprisingly extensiveand detailed with fun interaction opportunities
Museum was closed but beach, tide pools and play area were open.
Great place for kids. Small and quaint but fun. Area to touch anenomes.
This is a small aquarium but it is very interesting. They do ask for a suggested donation. If you are at Cabrillo beach make sure you swing by.
This is a fun little aquarium. Has a lot of interesting exhibits. I liked the jellyfish and the sea horse tanks. There's also a nursery laboratory. The really cool unexpected find was the carcasses of a couple of deep sea creatures like an anglerfish, and another I don't remember the name of. The gift shop is cool and the staff is friendly. Definitely a fun place for families and if you really like marine biology.
Been visiting here since a kid and now I'm taking my kids... a must visit... excellent staff and awesome stuff to see and even touch some... check this place out... on a date, solo, or with friends/family... won't be disappointed...
Really cool place to take the kids for a few hours. They loved it. Lots of things to see.
This aquarium is wonderful. It's small, but it has a lot of hands-on activities. The Fishtival and the Halloween event are top-notch.
This place is always an old school flashback to myself as for my son....it was spectacular in many ways, shapes, and forms! He was at optimal stimulation with all of the super cool fish and sea life! Always a pleasure thanks CMA
The staff here are super friendly and happy. Lots of stuff to do for such a small aquarium. Was such a perfect family activity, will certainly go back!
Nice place out 1st time there for the Grunion Run. FINALLY made it out. The last I saw the Grunion Run I was probably 5 yrs old
Just wish you where with me Caroline and Daniel and Victoria with maxumson. I love you kids
Very fun museum for all ages and it's free! They accept donations and deserve every penny. Don't forget to stop by the "Tide pool touch tank" there's a lot to be discovered here. It's worth your time. My girlfriend and I WILL be coming back. (: free fun! Free free free fun fun fun!
Love this beach. Beautiful senery, sometimes you see dolphins. There's a hiking trail.
The aquarium was fine the life guards outside the aquarium where the most awful people I've ever seen. No respect
We went at night but it was still nice and very clean
Live fish exhibits are limited - but the learning center for kids is extensive and was enjoyed by my boy.
I love this aquarium! Forget the Aquarium of the Pacific. Although it may not be as big as the Pacific one or with as many exhibits, I think this one is just as fun and a heck of a good deal. The admission is by donation (which you should definitely do): $5 for adult, $1 per kiddo. My daughter loves coming here and I'm not spending an arm and a leg to let her experience marine life.
No waves beautiful beach with a playground for kids. We really enjoy this beach especially the kids. Awsome place for a bonfire but dont get a ticket when you park on the street. If their parking lot is full or closed find parking away from the there dont get a ticket !!!!!!
This is a great hidden gem. I love coming here. There aren't many new exhibits, but it brings back a feeling as if I were on a field trip from my youth. There staff are very friendly and helpful and they do several science experiments here as well, which is cool to see. There is generally plenty of parking and there is a beach with a kids play set and swings, which is definitely nice for the kiddos. I would highly recommend!
Its fun they have aquarium there. Also a fishing port,
We have been coming to this beach since I was 11 years old and my kids and now my grandkids ...wonderful place lots of great memories. ..
Love the aquarium. It's a nice little side trip when we are down at the beach. Kids ask to go every time.
It was a very enjoyable experience and all the people were very helpful and kind.
We went on field trip, so it was ok for the activities they had for the kids. I gave it a 3 for dirty tables and dirty restrooms
Very small aquarium, but educational and peaceful. Some cool lab spaces and it is in a beautiful area.
Free. Donation is accepted $5. Small pleasant aquarium to go with kids for them to see some marine life. Play area for them to dress up on the other side next to the lab experiment.
Awesome aquarium. Make sure you go when you can go to the tide pools too with one of the aquarium guides. We saw so many awesome things, and the guide was so informative and found things in the tide pools the kids could touch. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!!
I like Biology, if this museum has species that I don't know, one can imagine that they exist.
A gem of an aquarium, tucked away at the tip of San Pedro. Free admission (donations gladly accepted), passionate volunteers. The displays and tanks are focused on local fish and wildlife. The education center has microscopes and science-oriented experiences for school aged kids, while preschoolers can play in their puppet theater/dress up station and craft areas. Check the times for the touch tank; it closes periodically to give the animals a chance to recover. Love this aquarium!
No frills pure educational! Loved their tide walk... friendly and patient staff.
It is a place to have fun with the family
On the beach
Best kept secret in LA county. $1/hr parking, cheap
My students said it was the best field trip this school year! Great docents and mini lessons!
Visited with my friend and her young children. Loved the touch tank and the kids were so excited to gently interact with the animals. (The water is very cold, heads up.) Exhibits were informative, with some interactive tasks, though some of the tanks did not have signs. Exploration Lab was neat and we probably could have spent more time there. The Nursery was closed the day we were there, but I heard it was the best part. It's a suggested donation of $5/adult and $1/child, and even at twice that price, this basic (no-frills) aquarium is a GREAT way to spend a few hours!
An absolute gem!!! I have visited cabrillo beach several time and never took note of the Aquarium. Highly recommend everyone to go visit and learn about the environment. It is free but give what you can!
Totally amazing sea creatures, great learning center for kids and adults, live sea creature petting exhibit, and totally free$$
Awesome place for kids and family is on a donation on Sunday
Very kid friendly. Staff was great! Very welcoming and friendly. Answered questions and interacted with you in a friendly manner. The Exploring area was Amazing and had awesome stuff for the kids to see and that welcomed them to touch and ask about. Entrance fee is by donation which is great also. Please be fair with donations this place deserves it. It was mine and my 3 toddlers first time and we will definitely be coming back.
Very small, but an excellent learning place for field trips with a boat ride to gather up microscopic specimens then look at them afterwards. Definitely the best part of it!
Good parking, great staff ( this made all the difference, they were all so friendly, helpful and happy to be there), fee is donation as desired, great aquarium, beach area is not the best around it but the aquarium is great, free, and a lot to offer.touch tank, great variety of display, summer activity galore!
Grew up going to Cabrillo beach. Now I enjoy taking my babies... tradition
Most amazing place for toddlers. So many exciting exhibits to look at and places to play. My kids had so much fun they never wanted to come home.
What a great little aquarium. So much to see packed into this little gem. Free to get in with a $5.00 per person donation suggested. Pay the $5.00, it is such a small price to help such a great little place. We were in awe of all the many tanks and the display items were surprisingly interesting as well. Highly recommend
An absolutely great aquarium to visit. There is a tide pool touching show a few times a day. The active research done by the aquarium's biologists are presented openly.
I completely recommend!!

Nice old-fashioned aquarium . They seem to renovate every so often . They are closed on Mondays .
There is plenty of parking which may cost a dollar on some dsys at least that is what they charge when I went on Sunday after 5 pm. The gift shop was open late possibly closing at 6 PM . Beautiful walk on the beach end areas for barbecue as well as volleyball .
Do be careful cars have been stolen before .
Good family place for education and outings in our local south bay
