Jay was so cool.He actually quoted me more then when I showed up it was less. Plus you can tell this guy is just a good dude. I was super surprised. I dropped it off Friday at 5;00 and it was done on Monday. I think he has a bunch of tech elves in the back. This guy is awesome. I would Highly recommend them.

They have every part you will need. They even offer the best parts and this guy really wants to help you out. Better than other stores around.

OK, it's a hole in the wall. But it was open on Saturday and I needed a power supply right away. Kelly, one of the owners, was on duty. She was awesome! She took the time to make sure we absolutely had the right part, that all the connectors would work, and found us the least expensive model that would meet our needs. She was extremely knowledgeable and very cool.

Hey, this isn't Best Buy. No matching polo shirts and slick merchandising. It's just shelves of computers and parts. But it's my first stop the next time I need something for my PC. I think maybe they service as well, from the looks of things, but I didn't ask.

What a fantastic place. I have used these guys for all of my computer needs for about the last 15 years. I have always felt that I was treated fairly, and they know what they are doing! I would recommend this place to anyone that had computer needs!

If the maintenance period needs several days, it is not recommended to repair your laptop in this place. Even if it has to be repaired ASAP, please take a picture of your laptop configuration. I took my laptop to this store and it took them bout a month to repair it, and when I got it back, I found that my original 16GB ram had become 8GB. The shopkeeper might say, "we don't have relevant maintenance records here." of course, I don't think anyone would like to say this bad thing in their real identity in a shop that gives them a bad experience

A failed Windows update crashed my Dell laptop and made it unusable. These guys wiped my hard drive and reloaded the latest Windows OS. They had the best price in town and they delivered in a reasonable turnaround time. I'll definitely do business with them again and I'm taking my Macbook in next visit.

They fixed my computer screen very quickly and are very friendly.

I've been trusting Jay and Kelly have been assisting me for over 15 yrs. They are very reliable and offer a great variety of computer services.

I have been to several computer repair stores but I have found that Byte Tech does the work quickly and at a very reasonable price. They do not try to push other products on me. I rarely make recommendations but I feel strongly about this shop because of the great treatment I receive there.

We've picked up several pieces of equipment here and have been very happy about the selection and the prices.

I had a pretty good experience here. I went in for a broken computer hinge and they fixed it within a few days, and I really appreciated it. The couple there was very friendly and helpful. I'm not sure if the price was super competitive, but it seemed reasonable.

Very small place with allot of stuff. They had what I needed, and it was a bit obscure.

Place is small, there is 99.9% chance they will have the part you need to get your system going. They are not a geek squad and don't make specs up if they don't know. Very happy customer

Byte Tech quickly took care of a broken 17" screen on our Toshiba laptop that no one else seemed to be able to do. Nice couple, nice business. Would recommend!

Byte-Tech is AMAZING!!! I was told my computer was broken and basically needed to be scrapped by PC Laptops. But these guys fixed it and got it all up and running for $60! Would definitely recommend this place for repairs and new computers!!!

After already having been burned by a previous computer repair, I was reluctant to try someone else. But I was glad that I did -- at least glad that I found out about Byte-Tech. Not only did they fix my computer quickly, but they had the added challenge of having to undo the errors of the first guy who tried to fix my computer. Yet they went above and beyond. They were able to solder a piece that the other guy broke off and replace both my fans. Couldn't be happier and highly recommend them to anyone (which, let's be honest, is everyone) looking for a reliable computer repair service.

I have had nothing but positive experiences. The owner is extremely fair on pricing and the turnaround time is absolutely amazing. I am a software engineer so i expect things done to a very exacting standard and in each and every case the work has been performed above and beyond all expectations. Some of the items that i have had fixed are:
1. old gaming computer retrofitted
2. lenovo ideapad yoga 13 screen and keyboard replaced
3. child's laptop evaluated and looked at for replacement.
4.samsung galaxy s7 screen replaced
5. iphone 6s screen repalced.

Byte-tech replaces all phone screens, mac books, tablets etc. I am newer to salt lake city and i consider myself lucky to have found this establishment.

Definitely a hole in the wall, but they have a little bit of everything for last minute needs. However, the quality of service definitely has room for improvement. I overpaid for a very cheap power supply that didn't supply enough voltage along the 5v rail while under load. The store manager did a quick voltage test of the PSU not hooked up to anything and demanded a r20% restocking fee since his little test showed it working.
The manager argued with me for some time, insisting I upgrade to more wattage. The PSU was already 600 watts but I wasn't consuming more than 350w and he knew that.
Moral of the story is, don't expect any kind of service or support from these guys. They just want your money.

Brought my laptop in to Jay to fix some water damage that had affected both my screen and keyboard, after getting some pricey quotes from other, larger repair shops. Jay was very friendly and efficient, always calling me with updates on how things were going. I was impressed that he even called me to tell me it wasn't a screen issue but instead a cable issue, so he was honest and didn't try to get more money out of me. The price was very affordable and I'll definitely be returning if I ever run into other problems with my hardware.

My gaming Laptop was broken. My wife got mad and hit the screen and separated it from the bottom of the computer and broke a hinge. I thought I was out of luck and would have to shell out for a new Laptop but Jay at Byte-Tech was able to fix it just like new! I am a repeat customer here and I have had nothing but great and fast service. Will continue to do business with these great folks in the future. Great pricing as well compared to the competition. I bought everything I needed to build a computer. They had everything I wanted at a reasonable price, and it was all high quality! The parts were all new and some of the best available. They did not even try to upsell me. As a matter of fact, they asked what I wanted the computer for and tried to get me to buy different parts that cost less and would do the jobs I needed. They definitely have the customer and his pocket book in mind! Great place! I highly recommend them.

Awesome service! I've been quoted upwards of $100 or more for some data recovery, but this shop sold me a converter that allowed me to access all of my data myself, for about 20 bucks. They were fast, efficient, and incredibly helpful. Definitely the best choice in the area. Glad I found them!

My laptop's power button stopped working one day before a big presentation! Byte-Tech took in my computer, was able to fix it perfectly, and return it the same day. They were also extremely friendly and not very expensive!

Great experience. MY hinge & computer screen had partially come apart on my laptop. Checked with best buy & other computer shops nobody could fix it,.. But here at byte tech they fixed it so its like brand new!! Highly recommend this shop. Another plus, is that they are very reasonable concerning price!!!!!!!!

My laptop fan broke. They were able to give a rough estimate over the phone, which other shops would not do. In person, they gave a more specific estimate which turned out to be accurate. The work was completed promptly once the part arrived. I'll definitely go back if I need further computer work.

Found it! There was a sign on the door saying they are going to move to 915 W 700 S. so I drove over there, but that building was empty and no sign on the door. I called the number in the listing and they answered. They are still in the original location - not moving until December. By the way, I went back to the location on 3300 S and they were there. I was able to buy a tip to the power supply I bought 3 years ago that works great for my new laptop.

I first brought my lap top to PC Laptops and they told me it was a minimum of $150 to take it apart and find out why it would not turn on. I friend recommended Byte tech and I brought it down. They had it fixed and up and running by the next afternoon for $75. They are a local, well liked company that has been here for almost three decades and I wont go anywhere else.

These guys helped me out of a jam! Cracked computer screen and they had me up and going with minimal downtime. They didn't have it in stock, and had to order it but it came within 3 days and they had it fixed in an hour. Very friendly service and the new screen looks great!

Byte-Tech is the only place I take my computers to for repairs. They are very fast at fixing any issues we have with our systems.

Probably the best place in the valley for parts. The folks who run it are nice and know their stuff and they'll usually have stock on what you need. They're a tiny bit more expensive than online retailers (few bucks on big ticket items, nothing major), but its worth it for support purposes alone.

I was recommended to this place for my laptop to get a new keyboard. I took it in and told him I needed a new keyboard, and he charged me $60 just for "troubleshooting." But he told me that it would count towards the repair. I was also told the price of the keyboard was $40, he charged me $57. And an additional $15 for shipping. And still charged $79 to replace the keyboard. I am very glad I now have a new keyboard in working order, but the laptop worked just fine with an external keyboard and I felt that he was dishonest about charging so much. Especially for charging me for troubleshooting when I told him what was wrong. That's just ridiculous.

Faster service! Great Customer service! I had a broken laptop screen and he fixed it in 1 hour for 1/3 of the price of places like PC Laptops. Computer Looks good as new. My wife got mad and punched my screen and it was not an issue for Byte-Tech. Customer for life! 10 Stars!

This is the most affordable repair place I've found. Great little Mom and Pop shop.

I decided to build my own computer for the first time and ran into an issue with the CPU and wiring. They completely got it up and running for a small price and were very nice! I would recommend to anyone.

I had dropped by hp laptop on the concrete and busted the seam on the right side of my computer. They were able to fix it amazingly. They were fast and did a fantastic job. Great price for the repair, it like new. It only took 2 days. Great job! If you need repairs for a great and reasonable price, they'll do a wonderful job. I had my repair for under $80

I would only visit the place and website if there was no other alternative. Even though the products are of decent quality, there seems to be a bit of a problem with language barrier and the website is too slow to navigate.

Sold us PC wireless cards from a company that is basically out of business (all phones where disconnected and we couldn't download the drivers from their site) There were no driver CD in the packing. Called Byte Tech and asked if they could put the driver online so we could download them and they said they had to charge us $15 dollars to put the drivers online (driving back wasn't an option). Customer Service = 0

I have bought several upgrade items for my home PC from Byte Tech over the last few years. They have good prices on a semi-limited inventory - but they usually do carry the good stuff that you would want. I bought my motherboard, CPU, RAM and video card there - over a period of time, not all at once, and my machine smokes! (not literally). They know their stuff and will assist you if you are not sure if something will work or not or if there is a better alternative. Overall friendly people.

I was in this place for the first time today 2 Nov 15, I was looking for a part and just googled 'computer repair', this place popped up and as I was close I stopped in.

Well I was surprised, the owner took the time to hear my story because I wasn't sure exactly what I needed, but as we talked it became clear that he knew what I wanted and lo and behold, he trots to the back of the store and comes back with the device I needed, factory wrapped, explained how it worked and what I needed to do. YAY! No waiting for Amazon delivery, and the price was less then a dollar difference then online. Double YAY!

It's a small shop, not flashy, kind of tucked away, parking in front, but the owner was helpful which makes a huge difference for me, especially if you go to somewhere like Best Buy where the sales clerks may not know as much or even what you're talking about.

I would recommend giving them a try, if they have what you need, fine, if they can't help you, then a polite thank you all the same and go somewhere else.

They were able to fix my laptop computer perfectly. I had broken my touch screen when the hinge on my computer broke and put a whole in it. The replaced the screen which can be very difficult on a touch screen and fixed the hinge. Very happy with the service

My 27" iMac crashed while I was doing to homework a week ago. I didn't know where I was going to take it. After calling multiple places, I found Byte-Tech online. Jay was able to fix it at a reasonable price. He was so pleasant to work with. Thank you Jay!!

I built my first PC mostly on my own, but when it came to picking out a computer case and the finishing pieces (how much RAM, processor comparison, etc) my dad suggested I try Byte-Tech. My dad has been a BT customer for a dozen years or so and his good experience extended to mine. I finished that gaming rig with their suggestions and help picking out parts from their stock and when I look to upgrade in the future, I'll be coming back.

after calling several computer repair places i decided to go to Byte-tech. they were very helpful, with reasonable prices and got my repair done the same day(everywhere else i called said 24-48 hours). From now on i will go here for any computer repair i need.

I completely believe it was a language barrier and the fact that I was in line for a drink at a convenience store that messed up MY understanding of the specs the guy on the phone was giving me. So, take that for what you will.

Once he got it looked up and we understood each other, he quoted me a price that was pretty competitive. I'd say, give the place a chance.

Been here a couple times to buy parts, the people are awesome with price and parts available, if they didn't have it you didn't want it, they are very knowledgeable.
