Pro: Hotel was adorable, and the staff super friendly! Great location for walking around, as it is close to tour buses, shopping/eating, and Stephens Green. Tea was lovely. Has a restaurant attached with reasonable prices. Con: Would have loved a bigger bed, and the key to our room hardly worked. Would highly suggest!

We stayed at Buswells for a week with three young boys and found everything to be wonderful. The location is perfect - short walk to nearby attractions and public transportation, but also situated on a quiet street. The amenities are nice, and the hotel staff was very friendly and provided great service.
We arrived a day early for our tour with a Rick Steves group. If Rick Steves uses a hotel, you can be sure it's a good one, & this is no exception. The location couldn't be better; easy walk to so many places in Dublin. The National Museum is literally across the street, & bus service is too. We were exhausted from the time change when we first arrived from the U.S. & when we checked in at the front desk, the receptionist noticed & asked if we wanted tea. She ordered some for us to have in the lobby since we were early in the day & our room wasn't ready yet - & didn't even charge for it. Service the entire time was like that - warm & welcoming. Our room was wonderful - clean & comfortable. Thanks to Buswells for such a friendly first impression of Ireland!
I can't sing the praises of this lovely jewel in Dublin enough. We stayed for a night as we attended a conference a few meters away. The rooms were gorgeous and comfortable. Our heating wasn't working and immediately someone came to check on it and also provided a mobile heater which was a lovely gesture. The bathroom was gorgeous and the shower pressure was amazing! Even though it was in the city, the rooms were quiet and the noise of the city was drowned out. They were also quiet generous with the complimentary items in the room: tea making facilities, water etc. Will definitely be staying again!
A family get together for a concert. Hotel in a nice, quiet area, close to all restaurants and bars. A charming place. very traditional. Breakfast a little disappointing.
A wonderful hotel, clean, and neat. The staff were helpful and efficient. The hotel itself was central enough to be walking distance to everywhere, but still quiet enough not to notice
I absolutely loved our stay at The Buswell in Dublin. This historical property was full of charm, and the location is perfect. All of the employees were great and extremely helpful. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel restaurant. I subtracted one star for room size; it bothered my wife more than me. I would not hesitate to book a room here for our next trip. We also had our kids with us, and I would consider the hotel kid-friendly.
Came in with a 1.5year old kid and was treated to free bawl of veggies and very nice and helpful staff. That was not my first visit here; held meetings earlier. Very good place.
For most part, the hotel and staff were fine. Where I feel cheated out of my money was for the breakfast. Stale, slimy and substandard. Warm, room temperature yoghurt and fruit juices. Cheese left out so long they developed a stale, smelly crust. Slimy meats. Poor quality cooked breakfast items. On my way out of the restaurant, I think some of the staff had noticed the food deteriorating, and proceeded to change it. By this time I had lost my appetite for eating at Buswells, and had lost trust in the food. I was ready for a breakfast sandwich elsewhere. There has been no resolution, even after highlighting the issues at checkout... Dont like to leave negative reviews on here or Trip Advisor, but it wasn't the standards that I paid for.
Room comfortable. Lift didn t work for a short period on the morning of our departure, which made it difficult to move around with a buggy. Breakfast was terrible!!! Waiting up to 20 mins between the first hot plate been served to the last plate. Plates from the cold buffet were not moved and we had to request them to be removed to make room. No toast served?? Coffee was not nice.
I love Buswells for lunch - venue is very relaxing, varied lunch menu and staff are really friendly and profesional. Good to see too that 99.9% of staff wearing visors which is great to see. Worth a visit
Lovely upscale hotel in the heart of Dublin. For the price & location, I was very surprised at the spacious and well appointed suite we received. The service & wifi were similarly excellent. I did not have a chance to sample the bar or restaurant.
What a wonderful place to stay in Dublin. Warm and welcoming as if it were someone's home - truly you feel part of the family with the attention and services of an Old World hotel in the cultural heart of the city. Comfortable, neat, friendly. You can feel the history and poetry of Dublin and walk to some of the most significant cultural places in the city including the incredible Yeats Exhibition in the National Library right across the street. We will be back. Thank you!
This was the best hotel of the entire vacation. They are located within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in Dublin. I have never seen hotel staff who were that eager to assist and they make you feel like royalty. The food in the restaurant was delicious but especially the full breakfast was absolutely amazing.
I had the pleasure of dealing with Robert the Restaurant Supervisor in Buswell s hotel today and to say that he took customer service to a new level is positively not an exaggeration. Impressive to say the least. His colleague s have a lot to live up to to reach Robert s level. Simply the best!
I love returning to Buswells Hotel. The 1st warm greeting &smile comes from Paddy. He is so willing to please &helpful with every query. I love the ambience of this Hotel I feel so comfortable &cared for away from the very busy world outside the front door! The bedrooms are very comfortable with a delicious breakfast to look forward to.The bar is a delight also &you never know who you might meet! Looking forward to my next visit on my next trip to Dublin.
We had to change hotels after a tour, and thought Buswells looked like a good possibility, not knowing anything about it. We were pleasantly surprised by the central location, close to numerous sights we wanted to see. The staff was friendly and helpful when we had to deposit our bags there several hours before chek-in time. The layout was somewhat quirky, which is understandable when we read the hotel's colorful history. Adjacent buildings were added, resulting in jogs and level changes in the halls. The rooms are not big, but sufficient. Our room and bathroom were newly renovated. The modern bathroom was especially appreciated after having recently stayed in several more historical bathrooms in vairous grand old hotels.
We only visited the diningroom for breakfast, which was on par with several of the four star hotels we had recently visited. Our stay was only three days, and again, we were happy about the central location. It allowed us to pop into the room and rest a couple of times during the day and, for instance, just cross the street for another visit to the National Museum. We requested a taxi for the day of our departure, which arrived at the agreed upon time. We would defininitely stay at Buswells again, and not hesitate to recommend it to fellow travelers.
A beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, and delicious food! The rooms were lovely with very modern bathrooms; and the building is in a wonderful location near Trinity College and many shops just a quick walk away (I'm 25 though so judge for yourself).
Really lovely hotel in the centre of Dublin. Large bar area and wide range of menu choices. Staff excellent. Have already booked for our next visit to Dublin. Recommended
I have stayed at Buswell's many times over the last 20 years and have recommended it to many friends for the quality of its service and excellent location.
While in Ireland we stayed at a total of 11 hotels and B&B's. The staff at Buswell were the most helpful and accommodating! It was so appreciated! Their commitment to service, suggestions, and assistance really put our 'once-in-a-lifetime vacation' on a great start! There were a few other places we stayed where I had wished they had the same excellent service as Buswell! Thank you!
It was terrible experience, hotel level was much more different than what expected. i was charged for breakfast which i not asked for;they decide to deduce from the charge, but when i left they charged me for that too... i will never recommend it for any
Great for meeting up with friends on a Sunday afternoon or just to get away from the shops and read the Sunday paper while having a sandwich and coffee
Room was very nice and freshly renovated, but still smelled a bit of fresh paint. Staff was delightful and went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was delicious.
This is just about the bar: nice atmosphere, central location, lots of room. The coffee is even decent for a filter. I wasn't expecting to pay 2.80 euros for it though!
Overall we enjoyed our time in Buswells Hotel and would consider staying there again. Staff were very professional especially for breakfast and at Reception. Our only gripe was the standard of the first room we were given (claustrophobic) so would need to ensure a good quality room next time. Also cut out the noise in the corridors early in the morning.
The hotel was absolutely great. Class location. Quiet street but right in the action and many interesting sights in the area. Breakfast was great. Everything you need. Sausage, cheese, mega delicious bread, toast, cereals, dried fruit, all jams and hot dishes (baked beans, scrambled eggs, etc.) to order at no extra cost. Robert, one of the waiters, reads your every wish from the eyes. Double room was huge and bath too. Not super modern, but very clean. We really felt extremely well. You can absolutely recommend it.
I like this place more than others, has an old world feel to it and although quite nearby to Dawson street area remains quiet and restful place to meet-up with friends and have a chat without background noise.
Great central location. Nice size hotel. Excellent breakfast and a very obliging staff. Room a bit on the small size and possibly the smallest bathroom I have ever come across in a hotel, however the best bedding. Great value and I would recommend to visitors to Dublin.
Group of 6 travelling for concert Half group greeted by fabulous member of staff Other half who arrived 30mins later greeted by not as friendly staff member
Location great Parking available close by and hotel pays overnight rate Breakfast and service of was very good and very efficient
Great location at center of city!! Everywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance. The staff was fantastic and saw to our every need. Highly recommend!
