Paul Waling Review of Buswells Hotel

We had to change hotels after a tour, and thought Buswells looked like a good possibility, not knowing anything about it. We were pleasantly surprised by the central location, close to numerous sights we wanted to see. The staff was friendly and helpful when we had to deposit our bags there several hours before chek-in time. The layout was somewhat quirky, which is understandable when we read the hotel's colorful history. Adjacent buildings were added, resulting in jogs and level changes in the halls. The rooms are not big, but sufficient. Our room and bathroom were newly renovated. The modern bathroom was especially appreciated after having recently stayed in several more historical bathrooms in vairous grand old hotels.
We only visited the diningroom for breakfast, which was on par with several of the four star hotels we had recently visited. Our stay was only three days, and again, we were happy about the central location. It allowed us to pop into the room and rest a couple of times during the day and, for instance, just cross the street for another visit to the National Museum. We requested a taxi for the day of our departure, which arrived at the agreed upon time. We would defininitely stay at Buswells again, and not hesitate to recommend it to fellow travelers.
