So lovely, went with my family for a week and had the most amazing time! It was such a beautiful house and the owner was so nice. The bedrooms were really big and and the beds were so so comfy. We felt a bit homesick at first but by the end didn't want to go home! Would definetly recommend they are so welcoming towards everyone and do everything they can. At breakfast there is a selection of food plenty for everyone, if you want English Breakfast she will make you some aswell as whatever you want from the table, it is so amazing and I will be going back, there is a living room where she has provided tea and biscuits so you can have a relax down there or in your wonderful room! If you do have the chance to go do because you will definetly enjoy it! Thanks for the best stay! x

I was welcomed by the lovely lady owner who showed me to my room and offered tea served in the drawing room.
Room was very cosy with huge four-poster bed, made up with a down duvet and pillows. It even had a sofa to lounge on.
Continental breakfast was beautifully presented with so much choice, I was even offered cooked breakfast but there was more than enough to choose from.
I felt very welcome and can see why they have been awarded AA 5stars. A real country retreat.

Anniversary stay

Anniversary stay

We booked this venue after calling several hotels and B&B's that were available but the host seemed friendly on the phone so we went ahead after she said the private annex was lovely and sent pictures also after booking!
We arrived and the host was not at the venue but her partner (Male host was) he showed us the annex it was very small and the room had a strange smell, (host made a lovely cuppa but cakes were dry not moist but nice thought!) The smell so strong(not sure if doggie or cats pets smell) they just purchase a new bed he said and it may be that? ) we just had to ask for another room even though we knew it was to share a bathroom, shame as anniversay. No shower and bath too 20mins to fill as tsp so slow!
We had eated on route so the manor so decided to stay in and watch a romantic movie as cold and windy outsidebut the TV in all rooms was so tiny and so far from the bed in the annex you could not see it. The room upstairs was strange in that the TV all be it so tiny it was nearer bed but hubby could not fix as not working, so we popped in our Amazon stick hubby had brought with us which worked ok until half way through it stopped as no signal. We text host but no help at all ! Just use same password and try best signal but we said we had,so that was that.
The kettle stand fell off when you picked up kettle, all was in windows ledge and not much room at all and lead to short. All cable to short for TV and kettle. No place to hang any cloths, it was dusty everywhere and furniture far too big for the room.
Bathroom full of dust on curtain and all sides and plants (all fake plants in both bathroom and out bedroom plus on toilet cistern dusty, I had a bath and then cleaned the bathroom. Washed fake plants and sides and window ledge so dusty! why?
Second bathroom mirror light not working and main light so dark you could not see ANYTHING.
5 stars No its is NOT!!
Breakfast is extra for cooked. Jam jars all on table yuck and all but empty, full of pastries and carbs but hubby said most were dry! Hard to swallow, must be a few days old.
They made me porridge, as gluten free, it was made for me which was nice.
Nice and friendly male host but would not stay again and need to buy fresh carbs and clean and sort rooms! After all they are saying 5 stars???? If only managers/owners could just spend one night in each room they would know what it's like, why don't they? A mattress is so needed!
Only my second ever review and last one was to say how wonderful the greyhound at Wilton was, this one not at all wonderful. Wished we'd stayed at home.
Both so upset with our choice and stay:0(

Very nice period place but let down by the state of the inside has period furniture which looks good but place is very dusty and smells like grannies spare room there were flies ian other bugs in the linen of the 4 poster and the bedding smelt so stale that it had last been changed in 1692 the rooms deffo need cleaning to a much better standard ....also the breakfast us a big disappointment no sausages or anything hot stale pastries to say its 5 star is a joke im sorry but the stay here was very disappointing for 5 star and the breakfast was better in the holiday Inn in Bath where we stayed the day after al in all nice period property in quiet village but big let down on the inside and the breakfast

A delightful guest house in a very quiet and peace...

A delightful guest house in a very quiet and peaceful location close to the Thames with some lovely walks for both of us and the dog. The house is a period manor house with just four bed rooms each with a huge and very comfortable 4 poster bed. The rooms are large if a little quirky with sloping floors and beams. The breakfast is excellent with as wide a choice as one could wish for. Romely her family and the dogs are great hosts who all made us feel really welcome and at home. Our only comment (not a criticisim) is that the house felt a little 'tired' and in need of some attention in places but this is largely due to the National Trusts restrictions on what is allowed to be undertaken. We will definately return with the rest of the family for a longer stay.
