Mike took our reservation prior to opening. This restaurant came highly recommended by a local. We ordered their house special "guacamole". Made table side to order. Split the fish special entree, fried oysters and scallops. Sarah was our server, she is wonderful!!! She went above and beyond to accommodate us. She provided great wine pairings for the appetizers and the entree. If you can request her! Highly recommend!

Went here for lunch after reading positive reviews and it was great. We ordered the guacamole which is made at the table, now that s fresh! Kids liked it better than mine. Hmmm. Just kidding, it was! I had Gumbo which was lovely, and my husband had tuna salad which was fresh and very tasty. Kids enjoyed their burgers. Highly recommend. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable.

Be sure to make a reservation, even on a Monday, you may have more than an hour and a half wait. We had to go somewhere else, but I am sure it's a great place, maybe we can get there next time.
Get away with my wife to San Antonio for the weekend. Ate here last night with my wife. I spent over $100 on the meal and all I got was a blistering migraine. I think the food might have been decent, but the room is small and there was a table of people sitting in the small dining area essentailly yelling the entire hour we were there. It was mentioned to the waiter and staff a number of times by a number of people, but nothing was done to try and improve the situation. The table next to us sat and then left due to the noise. I was excited to eat there, but the experience was far from enjoyable. The food might have been good, but I couldn't tell due to the horrible setting. Definitely walk in the restaurant to see what the noise levels like before you opt to eat there.

Great place, great quantity, great food! Just beware the price hovers around $25 for most meals if you are looking for something economical. Had the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and the Wood Grilled Atlantic Salmon for dinner and it tasted amazing. Staff was also extremely friendly. All around a great time!
I loved Boudro's. My husband and I got married on Valentine's day and the immediate family had dinner there after we were married. The food, staff and atmosphere was a very beautiful experience and I will always adore Boudro's.

One of my favorite places to eat as a couple, or on a date. The setting, atmosphere and vibe is comfortable and warming, the food and service is excellent.
If you are looking for delicious shrimp and grits in San Antonio, look no more! The ambiance of the restaurant is great and the food is fresh. I m allergic to guacamole but everyone in the restaurant ordered the table side guac and even I wanted to risk it. This is a place for a nice romantic dinner or a casual night out.

Beyond fantastic. Every bite was to die for and, speaking as an out-of-towner, the ambiance of the river walk is unmatched. Do not miss the guacamole, - best ive ever had. And you just have to try the crab tostada. It s amazing. 5 stars for sure.

My husband and I came here for my birthday dinner and it exceeded all our expectations! We were seated close to the river which was very romantic and our food was AMAZING! To top it all off our waiter, Tony was the BEST waiter we've ever had! He was friendly and gave us recommendations for our meals and even let us sub out a food I didn't eat with another! He also brought me desert with a lit candle in honor of my bday!! It was an excellent experience!

We had the coconut shrimp and guacamole. We couldn't finish either. I tried to be fair and eat a second shrimp hoping my taste buds were just numb from eating junk food most of the day but I could barely down it. We asked to have them taken off the bill but they wouldn't since we managed to get down 3 of the 5. What a way to waste $25. There are better places on the Riverwalk. Try them.

Boudro's shines like a diamond in the Riverwalk crown. We had Sunday brunch/lunch after kayaking the river that morning (another pandemic gift/treat). I had a grilled salmon salad, and my husband had their chicken fried steak. We were extremely satisfied with the flavors and portions; we had leftovers the next day.
Food was delicious. I had the "duck three ways", my husband had the" shrimp and grits ." The duck was very tender and seasoned well. We did have issues locating the place on the river walk, it would help If the sign was bigger or had lights to make it easier to find at night. But food and service was great.
Went there on Feb 2..Had reservations for 6:30..got cheerily seated early. (no sit down bar... Oops) It was a very busy night but we had some of the best service ever. (We're very experienced travelers) The drinks (2 rounds) came in under 5 minutes. The food was prepared perfectly and was on the table inside of 20 min. Devon was our server and literally couldn't have done a better job. She managed several tables nearby with ease. It's a busy place but is managed and staffed with the highest level of professionalism. Will definitely be back!
I come here every time I'm in San Antonio and this was the first time I was disappointed. I wanted to have a special dinner with my daughter's family. We were there from PA. They came in from Houston. In spite of making a reservation we were given a table by the kitchen door, where my daughter was knocked every time someone walked by. The noise level was so high we couldn't hear ourselves think. The famous guacamole just didn't seem the same. It lacked salt and the pizazz of the maker. The whole night was simply disappointing. I think it's time to try some place else.
Horrible service. The waiters were just standing around and chatting, nobody paid attention to us so finally after good 10 minutes of being openly overlooked and ignored we got up and left. The menu didn't look well anyway.

I had many great things and some sad things. Their signature quacamole was tasty however some in my party did not enjoy their addition of bacon which could have been averted had their staff done what they use too which was make a presentation of it..... my fries were delicious but my accompanying steak needed some seasoning and perhaps cooked a bit less.

The food was subpar at best. Additionally, there was a hair in my wife's water. My wife has long black hair. This was a short blonde hair, so there's no disputing where it came from. This is the first time that's ever happened to us at a restaurant. I was shocked no apology was offered by the waitress. I want to be clear I didn't ask for a manager or a discount regarding this incident. However, I feel it should be common courtesy to at least apologize. Instead, the waitress only offered to bring a new water. Needless to say, we won't be back. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this restaurant. There are much better restaurants to choose from in the vicinity.
When our server came to get our drink order je had to speak loudly to us so we could hear him properly and vice a versa.
Drinks came, appetizer came , we were 5 friends having good time and we just had 1 drink each.
After about 1 hr 15 min our conversation turned to the politics,AMONG US.
A guy got up pushing in the back to one of our friends and went to a waiter told him something, the waiter came to us and told us to keep our volume low. What?
So I got up and asking what just you told us?.
And he pushed me.
I have had my open heart surgery in december so its kind of scary if somebody touches me there with his forearm.
2 waiters started to push me and said that they are going to call the police, at that moment I said that was enough and asked them to call the police.
Police came and said that this the second time they had to come to that place because of the politics. They were nice we didn't have any problem with them. But guys if you don't share the political view of some of the patrons there and whoever gets up first to complain to the management, you're screwed. Now, this is what we have come to.
Oh by the way, whoever complained, we are HINDU INDIANS. And I don't think you had enough education to distinguish that.

This is probably my favorite place for dumplings. The soups are also good. Actually everything is good. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the service is attentive. The only negative is the long wait.
I recently ate there and the food was ok, I give it a 7, the reason I m rating one star is my card was over charged almost 50 dollars and it s been 5 days I still haven t got the extra money back. We came in two groups and l ordered 84 dollars food, left a $10 tip, but my card was charged $139, they told me they made a mistake switching my ticket with the other group, and the other group suppose to pay $139. But when I checked with the other group, they also got charged $139 instead my ticket which is $94, so they charged us $139 twice. It was very sketchy, I don t know if they did it on purpose or not cuz they see we are Asians, they prolly think we would not notice or we gonna leave town soon and never come back to ask for money back. I have been calling them for 5 days now and every time they told me l will get the refund tomorrow, or they say they will call me back. The whole time I have been very respectful and understanding, but now I really start to think they are doing this on purpose and keep pushing think they can get away with punking foreign customers! How can it take 5 days to do a refund? What they do not know is I m local and been living in San Antonio for 9 years, I m a local tour guide manager for us trip.com and we bring at least 100 tourists to the riverside daily. I always recommend this restaurant to my customers but NEVER AGAIN!
I got an Mezcal margarita, they did a good job on the drink. I ordered shrimp tacos. They were really bland and unremarkable. Guess I'm spoiled with some of the local awesome Mexican food, but this was bland tourist fare. It was ok.
Tony was great, but the food was not.. I ordered the shellfish platter, the lobster tail was breaded and blend and very very dry. The shellfish was overcooked...the food was just horrible (not worth $33 a plate.My husband steak was very blend as well as the vegetables...I would not recommend this restaurant unless the price of the plates were under $5...Don't believe the hype...this restaurant is overrated...
We found a huge hair in our food. Also the fish was cooked pretty dry. And the host took like 5 min to acknowledge our existence which is one of my pet peeves... it doesn t take much to stop what you are doing and just say Welcome, I ll be with you in a moment . The fresh guac was on point though. And our server was very kind.
Excellent experience yesterday evening at Boudro's down by the river walk. The food was prepared nicely and the service outstanding. The only negative feedback I have is how crowded the places was. For a fine dining experience, it'd be nice to not worry about being crammed in between other tables. Other than that, I highly recommend sitting outside and ordering the Chefs Special...their duck was delicious!
Amazing happy hour and a quaint back patio! Went back again the next night it was so great!

Just amazing! The food, service, and bustle. We had the mesquite quail and shrimp and grits. It was too hot to sit outside, but we had a great window seat. The drinks were gooood and strong.
Staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the filet and lobster...it was very good. Our table ordered the tableside guacamole, which was fantastic.
THE BEST FILET on the Riverwalk! A bit pricey, but worth fighting the crowd. Highly recommend!

It's been ages since I was here last. Why did I wait so long? Great attentive staff, service was great. Got seated right away but then again, I did make reservations. I highly recommend doing so as the place filled up quickly as soon as we got seated. Of course we had the guacamole they make fresh right in front of you. We also ordered the scallops which were good but there where only 2 pieces? That was a little let down. For our main we ordered the grilled rib eye and lamb chops. Perfectly grilled. Great flavor.
I only had the guacamole and chips. It was okay. Probably would not buy again but worth trying once. Needed to add another avocado to take about the over powering orange flavor.
Best and only place to eat and drink on the Riverwalk. The prickly pear margaritas are to die for as is the tableside guac. This place is always a destination when I'm in SA.
Started with the guacamole for two which is a real textural delight. Had the seared scallops which were done perfectly. On the side I had the quail and garlic potatoes. The whole delightful meal was topped off with key lime pie. yum! And the service was fantastic.

Last Saturday I got food poisoning after ate in this place, my son went back and talked to the manager and he did NOTHING, I never have problem paying for a good service and a good meal but definitely choose other place in the river walk!!!
Fell in love with this place from the 1st taste. The service here is attentive. Makes me feel like I am back in Sacramento.
