The food was excellent but a bit on the pricey side and we had to wait over an hour just to get a seat on a regular weekend. I gave it one less star because of the wait. Ask for the guacamole, they literally bring a cart over just to make it from scratch right in front of you. The $40 steak was small but extremely good. It literally melted in my mouth. Great place for a date night and worth the wait.

Food is very good. Reason I am giving 3 stars is I made reservations on a Friday on boudro's website for dinner that Saturday. I get an email on Saturday 5-6 hours before my dinner reservation staying they are overbooked and my reservation had been moved to an hour later. I called and spoke to a manager and she was not apologetic and made excuses the whole time stating they were overbooked and sold out and that there was nothing they could do.

Needless to say, they need to update their process of making reservations on their website as this was very disappointing and frustrating. Makes me not want to eat here and the food is very good. Also, Andreas the host is rude. I showed up 15 minutes prior to my reservation time and he was rude about how it was not the reservation time yet.

The food here is very good but there are some serious customer service issues that need to be taken care of to make the experience better.

The food was excellent. My wife and I both got sandwhiches from the lunch menu. The service was quick and our server friendly. If you are looking for a more personal and quiet meal, do not sit outside. The tables are kind of close together and people from the riverwalk will constantly be going by (we did not sit insite, but it was quiet in there). The have a very large wine list, but very few beers and nothing on tap. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience there.

My wife and I returned last week to Bourdo's on the River Walk and had a delightful experience. The service was friendly, professional and worthing of a vacation experience. Thank you Jessica, we can't wait to visit again on our next trip to San Antonio.

Jessica walked us through the menu, drink selections and we were grateful to take her suggestions. I got the chicken fried ribeye and soon discovered it must be their signature dish. (Knives not required). My wife order the daily steak special and declared it was the best steak she has ever had in her life. I tried it as well, and true, it was the best. The special also included a salad, all for $16.50.

And the best part, Bourdo's is extremely affordable and worth every penny, especially for lunch.

Yes, Bourdo's is the best restaurant on the River Walk.

Fabulous, I think the hostess was Angelina... She was amazing. Super welcoming, friendly, and up beat. What an asset. Sarah was my server and she recommended shrimp & grits. WOW! Wish I lived here so I could be a regular.

Great wait staff, great bar. Expensive entrees and little to support the Cajun name of Boudro's. They will blacken something but don't expect to have boudin or dirty rice. Few vegetarian options...What they do offer is tasty. I will only go to this place with tourists who insist on riverwalk eating. There are better, cheaper places all over San Antonio.

I went here a few months ago with my boyfriend on our mini vacation and it was a bit crowded but it was also a Friday night. The food was delicious and one of the waitresses even took a photo of us when she saw me trying and failing to take a picture. I ordered the steak and lobster which was divine and he ordered shrimp and grits which were also pretty tasty, considering I'm not much of a shrimp person. We also ordered the warm berry cobbler for dessert and that was probably one of the best desserts I've had. Definitely keeping this as an option if I get back to San Antonio.

The food was OK but the selection not especially nice. This is definitely an average-at-best restaurant that pretends to be something closer to fine dining. There was much better food with more comfortable atmosphere available nearby for cheaper and with shorter waits.

Seating was a little cramped but the food was nothing short of wonderful. The prices are high ($25-$35 a plate) but this is typical of River Walk dinning especially when the steak is cooked exactly as it should be and it practically melts in your mouth.

We went early evening, no crowds. Ordered steaks, delicious! The place is kinda small but the service was incredible. Our waiter was prompt, courteous, friendly and extremely wonderful. Prickly pear margarita is good. New Years Eve special was perfect.

We went for the view of the Riverwalk and got that. Blankets on the chairs for outdoor seating were a nice touch, but it didn t make up for the rude/condescending waitstaff and marginal food. I was just visiting, but there have to be better options on the Riverwalk.

The food was ok. I was very disappointed by the service!I had requested a riverside table, but one staff asked us to sit at roadside table because there was a riverside table available that time,I asked that staff can we move to riverside table once available? he said I will check. He did not say anything about the reservation nor came back to me after checking?!
The riverside tables were available before our food came out,I then asked the riverside table again, the
Other staff told me I need a reservation for that table

Food was delicious but pricey. We ordered the guacamole for 2 and it was more for one. It was very good though. We also had pork tenderloin and a chicken/avocado BLT. Service was good but the building seemed dated and view of the riverwalk was limited were they sat us.

Good was very good. Atmosphere is crowded and loud inside the restaurant. Don't recommend if you want to engage in conversation. They have seating on the river, but it's in a busy section of the river walk so if you want a quiet, intimate dinner, this is not the place to go. Too bad because the food was good.

This is a great place to have dinner on the River walk. The chips, salsa, and guacamole are fantastic. Then you get to their main menu and that is good too. You should check this out if you are in San Antonio.

It's like I scored. "Ok". Paid $11.00 for the tableside guacamole which was prepared by an unenthused waiter who we realised hadn't spoken a word until he asked if there was anything else we needed before grabbing us our bill. We also had the tomato salad and the crouton salad with goats cheese, both were nice. Prickly pear cocktails were reminiscent of something I could buy at the clubs I used to frequent in my early tweens. It did the job but we wouldn't return.

This bistro is on the San Antonio River Walk in the open air. The food is excellent and plentiful. I had a BBQ dinner which had pork, sausage, and chicken with a smokey sauce that wasn't too hot which was good. The staff were very attentive. This place is pet friendly. We had our dog with us who was given a small dish of water and room was made for her to lie under the table workout a chair in the way.

Came here for dinner during my bachelorette. This place had great reviews. My expectations were kind of high considering their price point and reviews. I ordered the Texas fillet and frites and a prickly pear margarita. Drink was decent. My biggest problem was the chimichurri sauce on the steak. I've had a few chimichurri sauces and this same dish from other restaurants. I can appreciate everyone's take on this. But the garlic in this sauce literally was so potent I couldn't eat it. It was like biting into a freshly cut clove of garlic. 2 of the 6 that were in my party had dishes that were enjoyable which is why I'm giving this experience a 3 instead of 2, I wouldn't go back there not at their price point.

I wish I had the option of giving 0 stars, I would have happily given it negative stars. We, 2 along with a kid, sat at the outside table and our order was taken after 10 mins. The house was not friendly at all. It looked like he's doing a favor on us by taking our order. We ordered a kids meal, some sides and a main dish. We waited, waited and waited but all in hell. I even called upon the waiter after 20 mins of placing the order and he suggested that they are waiting for the items to come out from the kitchen. We waited for another 15 mins and my patience ran out and I stood up and asked the waiter and again same response. I asked him to cancel the order. Upon this he suggested the order is almost ready and it took time for chicken to cook. I mean c'mon, which chicken takes 45 mins to cook. And even if chicken was uncooked, where were the other items we ordered. Nothing was served and we were not treated well at all. Waiter was busy serving the larger groups. We moved out with our order cancelled. Seriously pathetic experience. Sad that I couldn't give any review on the food bcuz we weren't served any. Extremely worse service and non friendly service staff. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Stay away from it. Pure BS.

Awesome experience for my birthday last week. Small, but cozy area on the riverwalk where I got to try some new seafood dishes (crawfish pot pie, stuffed lobster, etc) everytihng was excellent.

Really liked the food. One star less for service and how tight the place is. Tables are too close together. It felt like I was sitting with the table next to us and Ppl from other tables had to move so I can get to the restroom. The service was ok. Had to wait for some things, had to ask twice for straws. Server was nice and even though they were small things wrong with the service they should have that down for the high prices they charge. I would go there again but there's other restaurants on I'd rather go for the price next time I'm in SA. The salmon place was just like any other fine dining. Nothing too special about that.

Had a reservation for my mother s birthday. We got seated promptly as we arrived a little late. I have been in San Antonio for over 15 years and hasn t tried boudros for myself. Decided to celebrate there and wow did they amaze. I had been missing out so bad. No wonder they have high ratings and reviews. Our waiter Michael A was without a doubt one of the best servers I ve ever had. The food as the reviews say was amazing. The table side guacamole is to die for and they weren t lying about the prickly pear margaritas. Wow! I had the ribeye blackened with lobster tail. The meat almost melts in your mouth and it s seasoned perfectly. I definitely recommend blackened. The lobster tail was perfectly cooked. Michael A treated us like family and made us feel at home. Our drinks were kept full and he made sure we were attended to very well. He brought out some desserts with a candle for my mom and uncle whose birthday had just passed. The deserts were a bread pudding dessert which was amazing. The overall experience was top notch. The cozy, unique feel is unlike and of the other chain restaurants on the Riverwalk. This is truly a gem. But don t take my word for it, try it for yourself and make yourself a boudros regular like I just became after my first visit. Make sure you request Michael A and you will not be disappointed. Cheers!

Came here on Friday March 29th. I called ahead to make a reservation & asked if I can get a table on the river I was told by a man that those tables couldn t be reserved but he will try to accommodate me if he could. We get there early it s just me & my sister & I asked again if we can try to get the table he said it could be an hour & a half. Okay. So we get sat down and 10 mins later at 8:30 (original reservation) I see a table open. I asked the host if we can have it, she had to ask her supervisor it took her a good 7 mins to get back to me to say it s reserved for someone but I thought the reservations by the river couldn t be reserved ? This place is fishy and a disappointment there are better restaurants out there that will treat you better ! Rude host and wish I got the older mans name to say he was unprofessional as well. It s one thing to say things politely and another to hesitate and lie.

Terrible shrimp and grits. The shrimp tasted dirty and like chlorine. The grits tasted like rice, or instant mashed potatoes. If you go for a party atmosphere, and not the food, it might be ok. Its loud and the table I had was obviously in the way of some guy trying to run partiers up and down the river. When the server comes around, to take your order and give you the bill, and you complain they do offer to bring you more food. Its not worth it when everyone with you is finished eating. Id rather just spend my money on drinks, their beer menu sucks, and get decent food elsewhere.

It turns out we had the exact same experience as Karina Aguilar: great food, but terrible service the minute the server thought we weren't going to run the bill high enough. In our case, we weren't sure about what drinks we wanted to get and asked to start with water, and I think that's what set the guy off.

From there, he would forget to refill the water, when the bread came out he didn't include plates so we were awkwardly holding the bread with our hands to butter it. When we did order alcohol, my wife was a bit indecisive so the waiter said "I think I know what you want" and brought back something that absolutely was not what she wanted. The food itself was great, but for the price, the service was cartoonishly awful.

This place was recommended by a friend, so I have to wonder if the bad service is coming from the particular waiter we had.

This IS NOT a fine dinning restaurant- it s average at best.
My husband and I went for our anniversary because it came recommended.
We were both really disappointed; it was EXTREMELY LOUD and definitely wouldn t call it fine dinning (uncomfortable cheap chairs, my napkin had holes in it, lousy food presentation).
I thought maybe the food will be great but it was average or less, cocktails weren t done right either.
We had the oysters and table side guacamole for appetizer- guacamole had an ingredient that probably gone bad because it tasted weird, oysters were okay.
My steak was cooked wrong, the grits and vegetables sides tasted really bad that I couldn t eat them. The waitress was nice and so is the staff.
Restaurants I would call fine dinning that are wayyy better are ones like J prime, bohanans, Bigga on the banks but not that one.
