We arrived at the plant independently on a tour of the plant, from the bus station took a taxi, and drove back already by public transport. I liked the plant, most of all I was impressed by the museum, modern, creative. You can do without a guide, since in each room there is a scoreboard with buttons, choose a button with the right language, you nadimaesh and you conduct a movie tour around the room in your native language. On the territory of the plant there is a bar and a restaurant where beer is brewed at the factory. Excursions in Russian are not available, for larger groups an excursion is possible by prior arrangement. We went with a group for which the tour was in Czech, we were given a printed text in Russian. Everything was clear and interesting. All beer lovers I recommend to visit the plant and try many varieties in the bar.

The main reason for my visit to Ceske Budejovice w...

The main reason for my visit to Ceske Budejovice was the guided tour of the Budvar brewery.
You can get there easily with a bus that stops right outside the center or on foot. The tour in English starts at 2pm so if you organize, my advice is to get there on foot so you can see a part of the non-touristy city and have lunch in the brewery's restaurant which serves delicious dishes at prices in the average of all the other restaurants in the city (about 250 CZK for an appetizer / soup, main course, side dish and a beer).
The restaurant is, in the furnishings, quite refined, but do not be impressed, you will also find many locals who come to enjoy a good beer or to eat.
Upon entering you will be greeted by the counter with 6 plugs, one for each type of beer produced here.
The menu does not only contain Czech specialties but also more international dishes and winks, given the proximity, to Austrian specialties (La torta Sacher is among the desserts).
Here you can drink beers that would be difficult to find in the city and I think it is one of the few places where they are all tapped.

The visit of the factory is very engaging and very different from the visit of the Pilsner Urquell Brewery where everything is a bit aseptic.
The group I found myself in was made up of just 6 people and following the guide's explanations was easy.
The guy who led us inside the structure is a real beer lover and answers every question spurring them to do more. Unlike that of Urquell the tour is not built specifically for visitors but it is the visitors who enter the real areas of the brewery and can actually see the machinery at work.
The visit ends with a tasting of unfiltered beer or pasteurized directly served in the cellars of the factory (keep a sweatshirt with you, you will pass from an extremely warm to an extremely cold environment). Before the tasting you can get in touch with the main ingredients of the beer (this brewery uses fresh hops and not in pellets so you will feel the fragrant aroma).
The beer you drink is worth the single ticket that costs only 100 CZK (without limitations for what to photograph) and, if you are lucky and your group is as small as mine was you can take a double ration of beer for tasting !
If I go back to Ceske Budejovice I will certainly do another tour of this factory.

Factory and tour 5 points. About the restaurant - the establishment is popular with Czechs - it is sold out at 15-30 Fridays. The waiters walk past you, despite the urge. I made the order twice right at the bar, before that I was tired of waving my hands. Well, beer - there's nothing to say, right from the factory tap!

Never again. The beer is - as usual - good but the service is outrageously bad.
It seems that the waiters think that the earth is flat and the sun circles around the earth.

I patiently waited for the bill... like 10 minutes although the place was completely empty....

So if you wanna dink a good Czech Budweiser, go somewhere else. It does not matter where, you will be treated like king compared to how you will be treated here.

Bujejovice is also known as "Budweis" in German and English. The city started brewing beer from the Middle Ages. The Budweiser beer in the United States originally took the name to emulate Bujejovice. Today, the Budweiser's locally produced Budweiser beer is still sold throughout Europe, and in the United States the name "Budvar" is used for trademark issues. In any case, here is the hometown of Budweiser beer, the winery is definitely worth a visit, not to mention the 18-year-old tourists can also enjoy a cup of Budweiser beer for free while visiting. You can make an appointment on the official website of the brewery before you visit.
The Czech Budweiser brewery is located in a city in the southern Czech Republic, Ceske Budejovice (CB), and the original Budweiser beer was named after the city, called Budweiser Budvar, which was founded in 1895. Czech Budweiser beer was very popular in Europe. Later, German immigrants in the United States founded the brewery in the United States with the same Budweiser beer name, but the formula is completely different from the Czech Budweiser beer. The two wineries are After nearly a hundred years of lawsuits, it was later determined that both parties owned their trademarks, but the Budweiser beer you saw in Taiwan was imported from the United States and could not find the traces of Czech authentic Budweiser beer.
The Czech Budweiser brewery is located in the north of the city of CB. It is not far from the city center. You can visit the winery by bus. It is best for the individual to participate in the multi-language guided tour of the winery at 2pm every day. There will be a cordial uncle of Budweiser with you to introduce the manufacturing process of Budweiser beer, and of course the taste of beer!

Visited almost 4 years ago (as visible from poor quality photos) for a school trip. The production process is nothing short of fascinating, and understanding how a beer is produced (certainly, on an industrial level) is very interesting. You can also buy their products.

Terrible staff at the restaurant, no smiles or service. They do not serve all budvar beers in the menu, the food is ok. To top it off they offered a english red ale instead of the great budvar we are used too. Huge disappointment. The museum tour was alright, but nothing special. This is not worth a visit unless you are a big fan of the brewery. A day wasted that could have been spent in Prague or Pilzn.

We took part in the tour of the brewery there. Was very interesting, especially something about the clinch was told with "BUDWEISER" from America. With 5 you are there (or you got a voucher on the city's homepage). In principle, you go through the whole process of beer production including tasting. Multilingual in German, English and Czech - every day at 14 o'clock you go.
The only suggestion for improvement: The bottling plant from the other side would be better. You start with the boxes and stop washing your bottles - well.

Great tour in English... More details than the tour at PU and this time the brewery was operating... The smell of the malt/mash in the brewery was wonderful. The beer from the cellar maturation tank was exceptional... Worth the trip for the 1400/tour.

The shop at brewery is the place to buy best upon leaving the town. There you can find all the possible Budvar beers as well as souvenirs. Buy limited term beer - the best from all the Budweiser line, this beer can't be found abroad.

This was the most disappointing visit to a brewery. We love this beer and wanted to have 1 beer after the visit. The only place to get beer is the restaurant. We went there and the place was completely empty. But we were told that they are fully booked and they cannot give us any beer, even not at the bar....!!!
Very arrogant people...

Guided tours always take place at 2 pm for "individuals". So for people who do not travel with a group. The language then orients itself to the majority of the participants. If there are enough Germans, it is also German.

It's difficult to be inbiased. The beer and the factory is excellent, the visited tour is terrible. All of individuals, chechish, english and german groups are started at 2 pm. All ... Not earlier, not later, everybody at 2. The groups are crossing each other's ways, you cannot hear your guide. The beer neverthless is on the top. I can offer to the management, buy a ticket to Amsterdam and look at the Heineken visitors center. That is the true experience.
It's hard to be impartial. The factory and beer are excellent, but the guided tour is a snap. Each individual visitor starts at two o'clock. Not sooner, not later, at two o'clock. Czech, English and German groups at the same time, crossing each other's path. The driver's voice cannot be heard, there is no sound system. The beer is still great anyway. I suggest drivers take a ticket to Amsterdam and check out the Heineken factory visitor center. That's the real experience.

Unfortunately, we experienced great disappointment from visiting the visitor center of Budvar. We arrived at a place with a foreign visitor who wanted to buy a souvenir with the Budweiser Budvar logo in memory and we found out on the spot that there is no souvenir shop. We were referred to the e-shop, where practically all the clothes were intended for service in the pub. It is known that Budvar is a state-owned enterprise: (It would be worth taking the management on an excursion to Pilsen, where it can ...

Really interesting tour offered in Czech, English or German for a reasonable price. You also get to taste some fresh beer during the tour. There is a fair amount of modern technology here now but also some nice throwbacks to an earlier time of brewing.

Great tour for a great price! It was really cool to get to go through the brewery, and they did a great job of explaining the whole process. Our tour was done in German and English and the guy did a terrific job.

Nice big brewery, guided tours in different languages are offered. I would call and reserve in advance. The tour is in a group of up to 25 people, but it is easy to follow and observe the ongoing operations very well. The price of the tour including tasting is around 4 per person. unbeatable. The shop is small but not boring. There is also a restaurant next to it. The only downside is the parking situation on site.
