Benjamin Bierman Review of Brouwerij 't IJ

Yesterday, when we arrived at Brouwerij 't IJ we were planning to attend the English guided tour with a group of 9 people. When we got inside we were directed to the bar in order to buy our tickets.
At the bar I asked for 9 tickets, with the response being a blatant "No". When I asked why this was not possible, the staff member walked off and didn't return for another 5 minutes...
She then came back and told us that purchasing 9 tickets at once was not possible due to the brewery's policy. This policy entailed that such a big amount of tickets could not be sold at once, due to the fact that there were only 20 spots available.
After this I asked her if there were actually still 9 tickets available, to which she responded with "yes". I was confused. There were still 9 tickets available, however they refused to sell them to us?
Anyway, after getting denied the tickets, I continued my conversation with the (grumpy and uninterested) waitress, who quite frankly couldn't care less about the situation. I asked her if we would be able to buy our tickets seperately and not as a group, to which she again blatently responded with "No". In short, the waitress refused to sell us tickets in any way possible.
She suggested that the others (who didn't speak Dutch) should join the Dutch tour at a later time.
To me this policy sounds completely ridicule. It seems as though the brewery would rather not serve customers and, as a consequence leave half of the tour empty, than provide them with a great tour, which I am sure they are able to do.
To give a brief summary:
This brewery would rather reject customers in big groups in any way possible, than give them a tour.
This brewery has grumpy staff who could not care less about their customers.
My advice:
If you are thinking of coming as a big group to do an English tour, I would strongly advise you not to. I have never ever experienced such horrible service and I sincerely hope that the brewery reads this feedback and does something about their ridiculous policy.
