One of my favourite places for beers in Amsterdam. First, the place is great: a brewery in an old dutch windmill. It is always crowded, even the large terrace when it is sunny. Second, their beers are pretty good and cheaper than in most places. They only serve their own, so go with that in mind. You can also get some dutch snacks.

The location is not in the city center, also not that far from it if you get the tram or go by bike, so do not let that discourage you if you are just passing by through Amsterdam, and go and visit. Proost! (and ride carefully back home).

Best IPA we had in the Netherlands. Really great vibe here too overall. Highly recommend this spot!

Great selection of locally brewed beers. Even though I did not try one that I'd want to have again, my friends all liked their choice. The place is quite crowded, so be prepared to be standing

One of the places I love most in Amsterdam. Lots of places, very good beer and very cheap price. The building sits inside an old mill. Prepare your best photos because the place deserves it.

It's a bar / brewery that works inside a mill. A place frequented by many young people and tourists. Own beer of good quality. Great place to be with friends.

Had a bad tour today, the person who did the tour told a few details from a piece of paper. Uninspiring. We have had much better tours at other breweries. This is not recommended

Best beer in Amsterdam in the unique location. Most often is very crowded, but as long as you are ok to stand and have a nice company- it is the place to be. Also try sausages and cheese - goes great with the beer

Was told that it was a fascinating brewery, but it turns out it s nothing more than a glorified bar.

Come here for the best beer in Amsterdam... But be prepared for it to be too busy and don't even think about sitting by the waterside or you'll get lectured by the staff or some other try hard.

Locally brewed beer. Had a little brewery tour but our guide was told to cut it short so we didn't get the full one. Very large beer garden, pigeons are very annoying though. There is a shop for snacks and sale of their merchandise. Worth a visit.

My favourite drinking spot since moving over here. Very impressive space, good selection of bar snacks and the beer is phenomenal -recommended to anyone who likes good vibes!
My personal favourite is the ij'vit, you can definitely taste why they're doing so well across Holland!

Top Brewery! It is located on the edge of a river and at the foot of a vane! Besides being traditional in the region and super tasty, this brewery is postcard of Amsterdam! Go on vacation, put in your script!
Curiosity, the bathrooms are in the basement of the establishment!

Great beer, awesome atmosphere and worth doing a tour in the brewery. Very different from the Heineken experience and super friendly people.

Love this place - great atmosphere and if you have the weather a great place to sit and watch the world go by over a few of their excellent beers. Top tip - get there 20 minutes before it opens to get the best seats outside!

Great selection of beers, great location in Amsterdam Oost, popular with locals and tourists as well. If you want to try locally produced and crafted beers, then this is the place to go!!!

Very nice artisanal beer maker. Food selection is quite scarce though and they close at 8 p.m.

Any beer there is a great beer. Kind workers and a nice postcard pic from the windmill. but no meals, only snacks and apetisers.

Great selection of beer and I never waited more than one serving before being helped. Payment by contactless made it all the easier. Just don't go for the Columbus lol - not only is it 9% but also quite sour and bitter.

Great beer, friendly staff, tasty bar snacks, what more could you ask for? The windmill thing makes this a great place to take guests who are visiting and want to see a windmill without having to go out to Zaandam. It's always a bit too crowded for my taste, but I can't fault a place for being popular (they have earned it).

Wonderful location. But the beer is only handmade. For those who love the "classic" pils or beers, let's say, less particular ... Not very suitable. For the rest, neighborhood and place to see in Amsterdam!

It s a brewery in the windmill. All the IJ brews under one roof and some guest drafts as well.

I recommend trying the tasting samples. Good beer. A bit careless when pouring it, so the glasses were sticky.

You can enjoy their wonderful specialty beers here. There are plenty of options for sitting, but the appearance and atmosphere were somewhat static, perhaps due to the commercial approach.

Excellent beer selection, homebrewn beers. Lots of tourists though, especially in the summer, so it can become a bit crowded. Open till 8pm.

This brewery is one of the first places I went to after moving to Amsterdam. My flatmate put me on a bike and we went there for a few beers. The brewery is locating inside a windmill which gives it a very unique look. Depending on the season different biological (unfiltered) beers are serverd. But be quick, the place is only open from 14 - 20h each day. By the looks it reminds me a lot of a beer garden with many many bikers coming by, stopping for a drink and then move on again. During good weather the place is packed, especially considering the short opening times, which sometimes lead to longer queues. The beers are of perfect quality, the snacks you get are great. Here I discovered how well cheese with celery salt goes with beer. A life time experience.
