This has been the worst car buying experience I have ever had and I have purchased many cars.I purchased my car 6 weeks ago at Obrien Auto which from what I gather recently purchased Toyota of Portland. I wish I done more research before I purchased my vehicle. The Obrien Auto Group has been the defendant in many recent lawsuits that involve wage theft and race discrimination. The evening I purchased the vehicle they tried to push an extended warranty relentlessly. I looked at the reviews for the extended warranty company and they were awful so I opted not to purchase the extended warranty. They sales people would not take no for an answer and I almost walked out. After the purchase was completed I was told the financing papers would be mailed. As of today I have not received anything. I have called Obrien Auto Group many times with no return calls. Today I spoke with the sales manager Daniel Lara who refused to give me my loan# as Wells Fargo is requesting it before they can assist me. Daniel then stated, "Obrien has already sold me the car and they are done with me, If you are unhappy with the car give it back to Wells Fargo" Daniel finally gave me a # for Wells Fargo but it is the wrong #. My payment is now past due and the dealership refuses to assist me. I have posted hundreds of reviews, to date this is only the negative review I have ever posted, PLEASE PLEASE TAKE HEED AND PURCHASE ELSEWHERE!!!!
Errol was very patient with me as I narrowed down my purchase to the truck that was right for me. I went on three test rides and discussed the range of pricing for each option. I had to leave the dealership during mid-day, but Errol continued to answer my many questions ( via text) while I was gone. Once I made my choice, arranging financing was very fast and I drove away with a full tank of gas and a smile on my face. This is my third purchase from TOP.
Roman was great to help my family buying a new car. I would recommend him. We got the first and second car at Toyota Portland.
Had a great experience buying a pre-certified Tacoma. Abraham was absolutely the best. I liked that he was a happy person! It actually meant a lot.
In and Out quickly and Service Manager Dennis is great! I am Very Satisfied with Toyota Portland s service!
The sales person was a little too pushy for me to say that purchasing was a comfortable experience. I ended up not being fully heard and fell short of what s I was after.
The staff was very helpful and kind. Didn't ever feel forced to buy anything. The staff checked in, offered refreshments to keep comfortable. They worked well with figuring out the financial aspects and even found a way to get an extra warranty package on my car. I have been to other dealerships, and this one was by far the simplest process. Car shopping can be stressful, though I am glad they were on my side to get me a great deal!
Helping a retired friend. Said original vehicle quoted was not available. Switched to higher priced model but said they would honor price - wrong. After going through all paperwork car was priced at upper model price. Had to go back for adjustment. Typical bait and switch tactic. Poor experience. Will share this experience with friends. I would recommend buying a Toyota at a more ethical dealership - not Toyota of Portland.
worst auto buying experience ever.
the service people don t care about your car, they just want to upsell you on uneeded services & repairs.
The staff at Toyota of Portland was very welcoming while I waited for my 35K service to be completed. I was on my way without a hitch in less than :90 min. Well done, Toyota of Portland Service Department!
I went for a routine 20,000 mile service and had an excellent service experience. The staff was ready when I arrived and completed the entire service in about an hour and a half, including tire rotation and complete inspection of all critical components. The staff provided a complete report and documantation of all their findings. The service waiting area is very nice, roomy, comfortable, and a pleasent place to wait for your vehicle. Overall I would say this dealership has excellent customer service.
Great and speedy service department. Thanks for a nice experience.
Guys this is a tough review to give and you ll see why below. But these reviews should also be honest and here to help people so here goes. First of all the crew at Toyota of Portland are all good people. Only had positive personal experiences with the people I ve worked with. Super friendly, super cool. The lyft service and text updates are also first class. I also believe the inspections are somewhat accurate - so positive up to here. However I would seriously consider actually getting any work done on your car here. Get your inspection then look around - or even better, educate and DO IT YOURSELF! I ll give some real instances that happened in the last fortnight. First I took in my little matrix and one thing I inquired about was getting some busted fender liners replaced. The quote came back for parts and labor at around $420. For one! Online I picked up CAPA certified parts for $84 (both driver and passenger side) and after watching YouTube this is a 30min max job that needs maybe a flathead screwdriver at best. I m no mechanic at all and today I completed this. A week later I was suggested a bunch of stuff for my RAV4 - cabin air filter $50 (bought on Amazon for $9 and took me 3min to change, no tools). Also an engine air filter for $50 ($7 on Amazon, 15 seconds to change, no tools). Got told my battery had severe corrosion and cleaning would be $50. I bought some baking soda and dialectic grease for $5 and it took me 20min to clean it after watching a 90 second YouTube clip. Wiper blades, brake fluids, air intake cleaning - some of which were quoted at close to $200 and I can do it myself with half an hour on Amazon or, get it done for half the price at a different shop. I hate to think these guys try and shaft unknowing clients on parts and labor but man, I ve had some experience and doesn t appear too good. I would finish by saying still take your car there - but never get work completed until you do your research. You could save yourself literally hundreds of your hard earned money like I did this afternoon. Have a good one people and I hope you see now why this was a tough review to give! JS
I Ended up here on the Costco program for a used car. You're supposed to get a "Costco" price off the lowest published price, but that didn't happen. The price Toyota of Portland offered was the published price. They did offer a discount on a very expensive "protection package." The dealer blamed Costco for locking them in on their price and said maybe we could haggle if not for Costco. The whole point of the Costco program is to get their best price. A lot of people like this dealer, but for me I'll go somewhere else. So, not only did they lose my business on this car, but on the Toyota we'll be buying for my wife in the next couple months. On the plus side, they did offer me coffee - 4 times.
Five stars are for Ian in service only. My past experience with Portland Toyota was a 1 star, but I am happy to say that I went in with my car due to a recall and Portland Toyota was the closet. Ian was absolutely amazing, thanks for being honest and appreciating that my time is valuable!
My service advisor was thorough, explained things well, and was super nice. They completed the work within the time frame they gave me. They did not try and sell me services that I did not need. I have had this experience with most of the Toyota dealerships that I have been to and that is why I will continue to have my Toyota serviced with them.
Came in with no appointment on Saturday. They did checkup, changed the oil, and I was out in under an hour. They were all super helpful.
Overall such a pleasant and easy experience buying a used car with Ken Scott in the sales department. Super friendly and patient, couldn't have been better.
Excellent service and quick too! Everything about this dealership is always first -class....
Took nearly 2 hours to do an oil change (for which I had an appointment). My car was left sitting for 20 minutes while they completed "paperwork" and when I was called back, it was clear that all the paperwork hadn't even been started yet, so I had to wait some more. Additionally, after all of the waiting, she informed me that I needed a new air filter. Seems like they should have told me that earlier.
I was hopeful that the new ownership would result in a better experience, but no such luck on this visit.
I told them about my experiences with other a Toyota dealerships in the area. Bought my used 2000 Tundra for 9,000$ at Beaverton Toyota. They wouldn't knock the price down 250$, I understand the fact of making money from a loan...but still, not any discount for a cash deal. They also kinda tried to take me to the "woodshed". I know vehicles, at my age(44), time is money. You all at Broadway Toyota are great! The service department worked with me and the info they had from other Toyota dealerships. I have had decent experiences with Gresham Toyota...one really bad one. Portland Toyota is my truck family.
The service was great with the exception of the status of my vehicle's service not being updated midway. I would have appreciated more information be provided via the text message that was sent to me. I was limited to knowing when my vehicle arrived and when my vehicle was ready (the text for the 'work completion' update arrived just after I checked in with the service desk in-person).
I had a positive experience at Toyota of Portland. I saw a truck they had advertised online and called to make an appt. When I got there salesman Roman was waiting for me when I pulled up. He was very informative, not pushy at all, and was very easy to work with. The overall process was much better than I expected. Highly recommend.
Great sales team Eric and Thai. They found exactly the vehicle and options package we wanted and for the price we were looking for. And they helped us get up to speed with the new technology. We are happy customers!
Wonderful staff! Dropped in for an oil change and was out in 1 hour! Great service! Will go back again!
I will not be bringing my car back here ever. Bad customer service. Absolutely no comunacation what so ever. For example my car was finished late i told them i would be about an hr to pick it up no one told me they would be closed by then. Thats just one of several issues. Again do what you will with your money its ur money not mine and i will no longer spend my money here.
Told to expect 90 min.and 10k service completed in under an hour!

Not everything was perfect last time I used Service Department in Toyota of Portland for a regular oil change, but, at least, in my case, there was General Manager Mike Kahn there for me, who has effectively helped me with solving my issue in a reasonably responsive and perfectly timely manner.
Thx, Mike!
Super quick service, Toyota was in touch with me the whole time and my adviser, Summer, was spot on amazing
Great service and helped me get exactly what I was looking for.
SALES: recently I needed to get another vehicle. We originally went to he Kia dealership next door, who share ownership from what I was told. We texted ahead to inquire about a specific used car on their lot. We were told to come in and we More
Great low pressure buying experience. There was a mistake in the online ad for the truck I wanted, and they made up for it. Great people. Great experience!
Toyota of Portland had the perfect car for me in stock. The salesman I worked with was very friendly and helpful. I didn't feel pressured and overall I had a good experience.
SERVICE REVIEW: I had my 14 Tacoma serviced last week. The service was fast and was ready in less than 2 hours on a busy afternoon. I picked it up right at the beginning of their happy hour special so it was busy! While reviewing the service charges, I noticed there was an issue with the paperwork. I own a 14 and a 17 Tacoma (both of which have been previously serviced at Toyota of Portland), so when I received the paperwork all of the information was regarding the 17. Joshua quickly switched the paperwork to reflect the actual vehicle. The next business day, I received a call from Anna stating that they refunded the $84.95 for a synthetic oil change and service and now they need my card number to recharge me $49.95 for regular oil change and service. It s going to be a bit of a pain because now I have to bring back my vehicle in 5,000 miles instead of 10,000 like I had planned and previously paid for.
When I made the appointment, I gave the scheduler my VIN so I don t know if she just selected a Tacoma on my file or actually took down the VIN I provided. In the end, Joshua was helpful from start to finish, Anna was apologetic and informative of the incident, and my truck is running great!
Very friendly people. They were waiting for us with the car ready to test drive. Our salesman was low pressure and fun to talk to. Very knowledgeable about cars in general and our RAV4 in particular. The dealership had an insurance agent placed in the sales room which was very handy and enabled us to compare rates with our current insurance.
