This was my first stay at a Hilton hotel and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The front desk people at our arrival were pretty useless we had to ask 3 times for a room with 1 bed.
The private beach is nice and the restaurants are pretty good but very expensive.

One night stay. Staff outstanding. Hotel is vintage colonial with grand entrance, great grounds at back and beach access. The ambiance of the back area is broken by some very serious construction to the side and at the back which impacts the enjoyment of the beach area. Room provided was adequate, clean, but much smaller and likely more oriented for a single guest. Although non-smoking rooms we were initially put in a first floor room that reeked of cigarette smoke. Staff accommodated our request to move to another room. It has several restaurants on the grounds and a rather large grande lounge area.

I loved my stay at the British Colonial Hilton in the Bahamas. The hotel's interior was elegant, the employees were always helpful & happy to answer any questions I had. The food & drinks were excellent & having a Starbucks on the main floor, was perfect. My room accomodations were excellent. I had a very wonderful time.

Hotel and rooms are nice. Housekeeping service is slightly poor. There's some sort of a beach right behind the hotel. It's not perfect but it does the job if you're looking for a quick beach relaxation.

This is a five star hotel. Most definitely.
The staff was immensely accommodating the entirety of my stay. We were made to feel welcome every day and always found the staff enthusiastic.
There's a small gym just before the beach.
The hotel has a private beach. There's a large outdoor pool and an outdoor bar. The bar is rather expensive if you plan on drinking in large quantities. You can get 750ml of rum at the 700 a block down for about $10.
The beach is spacious and clean. It's very enjoyable in the evening when fewer people are out. If you don't want to spend the money on food (though, they grill a mean mahi mahi) the Imperial Take AwY is right across the street next to the McDonald's.
The only negative thing I could say about the hotel was that the air conditioning broke one evening (and Nassau in June is hot and humid). However, it was fixed by the next afternoon and as a courtesy, they waived our resort fee upon checkout.

Everything about the hotel, the private beach, pool, restaurants and staff was impeccable. The staff was very friendly and tended to every request and/or question. Also, there is a great view of the cruise ships coming and going. We would definitely stay at the British Colonial again.

I'll start with the good. The hotel is in a great location, has a nice little private beach and the staff was quite nice and helpful. Overall the building is nice but definitely a work in progress. They're finishing the outdoor bar but the pool and temporary bar are both open at this time.

The bad or so-so. While the restaurant and bar food was okay, it's way overpriced. Some of this has to do with VAT but generally speaking the food was just okay, nothing special. The room while nice overall looks like it's been patched up and in need of a remodel. The bathroom was large and well appointed but there was mold around the soap dish and the floor tiles were missing grout. We had a partial water view which was nice except for the broken window. The main hallways were in really had shape. The ceiling tiles was water damaged, broken or out of place. The carpet was also dingy and stained.

Overall, it was just okay but if it weren't in such a great location it would be bad.

The staff are warm, friendly and very accommodating. The only issue we had was one or two elevators (they have a total of three) were not working half the time, we stayed here.would stay here again in a heart beat.

Service was nice. Staff was friendly and very helpful. And the facilities were lovely even while under construction. Only drawback was the water. It stunk of sewage/sulphur, and was all around nasty.the water is the only drawback of the hotel.

Nice hotel with a great beach and pool included. The fitness center is pretty well equipped. The staff is friendly and the rooms are fairly nice. They are on the smaller size but I didn't mind. Would definitely stay here again.

Convenient downtown location. Second time around staying here. Clean comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Stayed here with family a few days ago for an appointment at the US embassy located across the street. Extremely convenient, was in and out of the embassy within an hour, allowing lots of time to enjoy the property. My boys enjoyed the pool and gym, while my wife and I enjoyed the outdoor hammocks.
If you enjoy watching cruise ships coming and going, this resort will give you a front seat view of this daily occurrence in Nassau
We tried the Summer Palace Chinese restaurant - Highly recommended, authentic Chinese cuisine.
Used public transportation to get around town. This too was very convenient, comfortable, safe and super affordable. Bus stop located across the street. Local taxi service also readily available on property.

Undoubtedly the best location in the center of Downtown. The hotel, the oldest of all Nassau has that touch of colonial architecture. A small beach, not the best on the island, but you can see all the cruises and say goodbye to them when they leave at 5pm.

Where tradition meets grandeur. This hotel is called British Colonial for a reason. A beautiful property in downtown Nassau, with its own beach and pool. Possibly not the trendiest location, but still totally worth checking out.

Excellent location with private beach. Prices high but consistent with the rest of the island. We were grateful that we'd had opted for the rate including breakfast as the walk in rate is crazy money.

Chic hotel.

Chic hotel.
The room is very comfortable. On the territory of your own beach, swim in the Atlantic Ocean for your pleasure!
Chic breakfast buffet style, and in the evening you can sit in comfortable chairs, order meat and watch the fire that burns on your own table. Very cozy.

It was our first time in Nassau and we stayed 2 nights at the British Colonial Hilton! The location is perfect, it is within a 10-minute drive to the renowned Paradise Island and at a walking distance from the Bay Street Straw Market.

We experienced the outdoor freshwater pool and the private powder sand beach with amazing views of the cruise ship harbor. Our favorite water activities were paddleboarding and kayaking, we had so much fun!

We had a spacious executive room featuring two double beds, garden view, and a marble bathroom equipped with bath and shower. We enjoyed in-room dining and also went to Aqua, their newest restaurant offering a range of buffet and a la carte meals including international favorites with a Caribbean flair. Among the other dining options, Patio Bar & Grille located near the lush gardens is perfect during the daytime for lite snacks. Visit my Instagram (kelledstyle) for more pictures ;-)

I decided to get my family day passes so we could enjoy the private pools and beach. And this hotel did not Disappoint. The beach was quiet and the kids loved the pool. The food and drinks were AMAZING, especially the hot wings. Well worth the money.

Hotel was fantastic, great location..however. the never ending construction going on next door 7 days a week have no time to really relax with all the banging, sawing and the never ending jack hammer from dawn to dusk... not a way to relax, the pool side service was bad... if you could get anyone to come get a order they didn't Brining it because they forgot to put it in.... food and drink were all very expensive, my TV kept turning on all night long.. no idea why....their 60 dollar a day for special services for food, breakfast snack and drinks was a total waste of money, the hotel itself is beautiful, past that not much of substance to really bring me back.. buyers be ware

Not happy with 3 major issues we had during our stay:

1. We were scolded for bringing our own food to the beach and told were only allowed to order the Hilton s food for the beach. This is unacceptable because our children were with us and their limited menu with poor healthy options and child options basically meant we had to leave the beach to feed ourselves and our children.

2. This Hilton is dated. The lobby floor is nice, but our floor is old and musty. Our room had some issues that are due to being an older hotel, for example, our bathroom door wasn t able to close all the way because it was misaligned, and the shower head was an older style that couldn t turn to face you 100%, and the water pressure was poor.

3. Probably the most upsetting part of our stay was the fact that we would get to the beach early in the morning with our kids and most of little beach hut/umbrellas were taken by people who weren t even staying at the hotel, they were cruise ship passengers who bought a day pass. The only beach huts available were the ones in the back row which is not helpful for people who have kids who want to play near the water.

The two redeemable qualities of this Hilton:

1. Very friendly staff.

2. The executive lounge has a great view and the drinks and food during the evening hours is at par with standard Hilton lounges.

My wife and I are Diamond Hilton members, we travel the world often and are always loyal to Hilton. I m very sad to say that we will not be staying at this Hilton again because of these issues. Next time it ll be to the Atlantis for us.

We got a day pass from Resort for a Day as part of our cruise... the Hilton was the PERFECT place to just relax & unwind with private beach and pool access. Laying out in a hammock was so comfortable while my girlfriend opted for a cozy covered cabana. The place wasn't crowded at all...there were maybe 25-30 people around the pool & bar area but the pool never had more than 8 people in it and it was plenty big. Great service from the bar staff!

Good for the one night stay before the rental house opened. If you are used to space get a suite. Regular rooms are kinda jail cell like. Great customer service, beautiful grounds and lobby, great gym if you can workout after drinking

Travelling for work with three colleagues we booked two rooms, one a suite and the other a single queen.

To say the experience was bad would be an understatement.

The hotel itself is old and tired and in dire need of a gutting and tots renovation. The room felt dirty and it was not possible to feel relaxed or enjoy the space. From the tiny jail cell windows overlooking a tar roof, to the thumping base from an event space till late at night, to the multiple changes to the rooms over the years with holes not even covered.

We decided to try the restaurant Bullion and it was equally horrible. With terrible service and old, gross furniture, menus that were confusing and poorly laid out, not to mention falling apart. The food was overpriced for the quality and taste and drinks uninspired. If you like the vibe of a sports bar though, this room with a beautiful chandelier may be for you, with the sports blaring on the tv s and grown men whooping it up at the bar. This place has the potential to be classy but by far misses the mark.

Overall this hotel was a completely horrendous experience and I will never return, not even after a full remodel. Nassau has some world class hotel, and this one should not bear the Hilton name. It is a disgrace.

We did not stay at this property but used the day pass for cruisers. Our family of four including a five-year-old and two-year-old thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here. The beach was immaculate, service was friendly, food was tasty, and Leonardo at the pool bar was excellent! Highly recommend.

My family of 3 did a day pass for 4th time in a couple of years during a cruise stop in Nassau. We always enjoy the food, drinks, pool and private beach. The staff is always friendly and we're looking forward to the new expansion currently under construction!

It could have been so much better. Great location, nice facility, friendly staff. Hotel is poorly maintained. Broken elevators, bathrooms.
The biggest disappointment though is the garbage all around the site for days. Cigarettes butts in the grasses and planter beds. Such an easy thing to address.
