Brighton asylum haunted house attraction Review

It was awesome. Long wait but worth it. Dress warm!

We once again set foot on the grounds of the legendary Brighton Asylum which has been featured on numerous TV networks and shows. The Portal attacks all your senses with awesome special effects before you even get to the Iconic entrance of Brighton Asylum.

The asylum itself is full of sick and twisted patients, monsters, and maniacs. Every room is incredibly detailed and is the stuff of nightmares.

The Bleeding Grounds is intense, with more gore and blood than the lower floor. There are so many dark areas that allow the creatures here to come outta nowhere to get you.
Overall Brighton Asylum is amazingly entertaining especially if you like really getting scared out of your wits.
We recommend their 5 minute Escape Rooms, like The Silence of the Lambs room which are only open during the Halloween season.

It's was just okay. I expected it to be scarier. It was also to busy. I was in the back of a group and didn't get scared at all because I saw everything happening again.

Played The Tomb escape room with my friends this past weekend and were really impressed with the sets, and the game play. We have played several escape games and really enjoyed these. We have been here several times for Brighton Asylum haunted house but never the escape rooms! We'll be back for sure and highly recommend them!

Takes a lot of work to put on a haunted production! Heard about your haunt all the way in New orleans.

The haunt attraction inside the building was scary and worth it. However, the hour and a half wait was horrible. It was opening night and we had tickets for a designated time. For it be opening night, I thought there would have be more entertainment. The lines were long and not many actors entertaining. There were maybe 3 actors outside the haunted attraction trying to scare hundreds of people. I would recommend having more actors outside entertaining the lines.

Waiting in line in the cold was horrible, about 2 hours but once in the exp was great!

You van tell they work hard scaring the daylights out of people and they have fun doing it. It was a great experience but I will definitely say if you can get the fast pass because the line gets incredibly long.

My family absolutely loves Brighton Asylum. If you haven t done it...fix that. If you ve already been...go again. Every year is some new craziness that makes us look forward to going. Well done!!!

Worth 5 stars but the wait time to get in was nuts!!!!!

This place was awesome!!! We came here from bane haunted house where we had a horrible experience and this place made up for it in a big way! Very interactive and scary! I guarantee you will see things here that you won't at other haunts. My friends and I travel all over looking for the best in NJ,NY,PA,and Maryland and this is one of the better haunted houses we've seen. Keep it up brighton! My group and I will be back to experience that 3rd attraction next year!

It was worth going to for the second time it's always fun to go there

This place is awesome. It's like being in your very own horror movie. The downsides are they have very long lines, however I will be back to do the escape room and purchase the fast lane pass

Purchased $65 pp Fast pass tickets. While going to the escape room we wanted to chose which one we would be able to go in, the employee said "they were all the same with different paint" and refused to even tell us which ones were available. The kids were excited to attend what was advertised online and that was NOT the case when we arrived to this rude lady on Thursday 10/22 at 9pm. While purchasing tickets for a group for a few hundred dollars staff should respect that and not be so unhelpful and rude.

We had many screams and laughs. Super actors. Thank goodness we went with a good crowd.Not the best of areas.

Definitely worth it everything was just perfect you have to go to experience it in person to much to write

It was pretty scary if you let it. I would say try to play into it and make it fun. Don't try to go and make fun of it, because that'll ruin it. Went with a group of teachers and had a blast. Only giving four stars because if you pay for three attractions, the first two are together so it feels like you only get two attractions. Other than that it was great

I ve gone to Brighton for the last 3 years, I was looking for something different when it came to a haunt.
I m so happy I found this place because it s everything I couldve wanted in terms of being scared.
First of all, setwork and makeup is beyond incredible- not knowing what s real and a prop make this haunt incredibly fun and terrifying.
They have the timing with the scares down.
Other haunts I ve been to I always have at least one negative thing to say- not with Brighton though. Everything is always amazing.
The contact option is so incredibly fun too.
I typically don t write reviews when it comes to things like this. But after going for my third year tonight, I just had to throw some love in the reviews.
Great job to the staff & actors- you guys are incredible.
If you are thinking of going DO IT you won t regret it. At the end you really feel like you got your money s worth.

It's actually a real fun time here. I wouldn't say it's the scariest at all, but got those that get easily to moderately scared, then yeah this a great place to bring them too. I'm probably just desensitized, but I still had fun. I wouldn't bring any child under the age of 10 as they might be really intimidated, but if they are troopers, then drag their butt down here.

Actually, if they have been bad, then punish them in a constructive way while you laugh at their faces . In all honesty though, it is a fun time, but I suggest you arrive here very very early because sometimes the line gets Disney world wait time big; that's not even an exaggeration. All in all, the actors costumes were good and the decorations are definitely a 10/10.

We went to Brington Asylum for Halloween 2018.
And to say we had one of the best and scariest experience ever. The lines are long time and anywhere you go there will be long lines so make sure to get there atleast 40 minutes before your ticket says the time of arrival! The inside was very scary we had the ability to wear the glow stick to further our experience a bit more and it was the best! My Gf couldnt sleep yesterday I was still surprise of how much horror and terror they put inside your head way before you even get to come inside the haunted places! We hope to see you guys next year and go thru all the scary attractions! We love ya

After waiting in line for almost 3 hours we walked through and didn't get remotely scared. The actors seemed just as exhausted and bored as we were. I have been to Bane and to the Headless Horseman in Ulster Park. Worth the trip! I wouldn't go to Brighton again if it was free. AWFUL

ITS CASH ONLY AT THE DOOR!! Went on a Sunday. Much smaller crowd less confusion to get in. Get there EARLY. if you book an 8 slot arrive at 7. Don't bring anything you need to carry. They'll turn you around. Really just your phone and keys and you'll even want to put those in your pocket. They don't allow you to bring in water because they sell it along with other snacks for your line wait. 2 of the staff were rude who deal with the line. The guy with the white contacts and some lady who insisted on snatching my water bottle out my hand. The attractions were very cool. We were scared lol. If you wear glasses lol wear your contacts when you go. I was so busy turning my head and looking out for the people jumping out at us I thought I was going loose them. Overall well spent $33.

After being twice at the Terror Behind the Walls at the Eastern State Penitentiary this seemed like a blow to the face. Good for a one time outting with friends. More funny then scary.

I was here earlier this year for the St. Patricks day thriller and I had a fabulous time. I couldn't wait for Halloween to get here. I couldn't ask for anything better. Again, the drive was only 20-30 minutes for me. I stood on line for 1.5 hours (anticipated longer but it wasn't.) I'm glad I wore my sneakers. Best thing to wear is sneakers. Actors were great, totally in character. Only fault I have is (I know nothing can done) there's not much space in between the yourself and the group ahead. With that you kind of miss out b/c the group infront of you is screaming so you already know what's going to happen. Don't get me wrong we had a few jumpy moments but it would've been better if they were farther ahead of us. I will be back for Christmas.

Do not go to Brighton Asylum! Bought tickets and arrived early for our reservation as recommended (our reservations were for 7:30) waited in line until 1am (over 5 hours) and we were only about halfway through the line. So we went to try to get a refund and they refused. Tried to file a dispute with my bank and 3 weeks later was told they can t get my money back. Brighton Asylum is a haunted attraction run by real life criminals and thieves...

I've done a bunch of haunted attractions this was definitely up there they did a great job incorporating multiple rooms and different phobias I would definitely recommend this to someone who is looking for a real scare

SO MUCH FUN! Totally worth it! The line for tickets and to get in wasn t that long. Be ready to scream!! Definitely going back!

This is by far one of the best haunts I have been to so far. The sets, the make-up, and the actors are amazing. They do optional contact night events and even have an escape room. The lines can become long as Halloween approaches, I would highly recommend the flash pass it's definitely worth it!

Definitely a fun, scary experience! There sometimes may be excessive wait times of a few hours during the peak Halloween season.

Amazing props, make up, and the actors really know how to scare you! ( noticed a lot of people complaining about wait times, only the best haunted houses have long lines ;) ) Brighton Asylum is defiantly worth the trip!

I went here last week and was surprised to find how nice the staff was. I think Brighton has gotten to a point where they are so popular that they can not accommodate accordingly which is a good thing for potentially expanding the Brighton experience. I would suggest Brighton address this for next year and I am open to help. For my review, I was in a group of 6 and I had a great time (I had a fast pass, completely worth it). I was very impressed with the actors and the commitment to the true Halloween feel. I only wish it was a bit longer because it was truly fun to go through this attraction. Advice to those going to this attraction, buy the fast pass and skip the lines. The waiting times can sometimes take away from all the hard work Brighton does. Looking forward to hopefully going again.

Much better than when they first opened their doors

They really did an amazing job with the attraction decor and the actors are incredibly talented. I removed one star for the complete lack of organization and order of the attraction. I highly encourage management to be better equipped to handle large crowds. I took off another star because management oversold tickets which created 3 hour long wait times.

Love it! Love it! Love it!!! If you haven't gone it's a must at least once!!!

First time going yesterday , best time ever ! Line was quick , entertainment outside was fun (we love Frankie!) The haunt inside was so realistic , it always kept you on your toes . I realllly recommend coming here !

Place was a lot of fun and decent prices. Lines suck but there's nothing anyone can do about it with all the people constantly piling in. Only reason not 5 stars because the girls who work there are b****es. They were making fun of other customers for taking pictures before heading in and very rude. Especially the heavy Spanish chick at the front door she was nasty and ghetto and threatened to not give me a laser gun because I was talking with people in my group. Don't threaten me cause your a miserable lady. Do your job and act at least semi professional.

Before even entering the tears of 2 teenagers began flowing . Upon entering it was dark and very well done. Even with social distancing in mind it was still extremely scary. The construction of this haunted house is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. There are ALOT of steps. I enjoyed the first haunted house better than the second. The 2nd one needs to work on its ending.

By far the greatest haunted walk through I ve ever done and it was the Valentine s Day one... could only imagine what it s like during Halloween. My boyfriend actually got scared for the first time in one of these. Actors, decorations/theme and staff were phenomenal! Everything was amazing. Highly recommend! Sue is the real MVP!!!

Brighton Asylum was very scary! Me and my friends had taken the glow necklaces and took them off right away after one actor touched us! It was very awesome!

I loved the amount of detail that was put into the set and actors. You walk around wanting to explore every inch of the sets all while feeling really tense because you know at any moment something crazy is going to jump out at you grab you and want to RIP your eyes out. Great place and is worth going to.

Fun place to take a date on Halloween. I suggest you get VIP tickets. The regular line is extremely long.

Been to quite a bunch of haunted houses but this one was the best so far. They really put a lot of detail and the actors and their makeup was really good. My group got fast pass but you really don't need it on a Sunday and when you get there an hour early. Lasted about 45 min with the haunted house and tunnel package.

Pretty enjoyable place to go with friend's would recommend for anyone who loves a good fright

Let me start by saying this is the best scare park we have ever been too it was our first time coming to brighton asylum you must get a fast pass ticket it is worth it because holy God when I seen the general admission line I felt sorry for all the people who had to stand in the cold like I'm glad we spent the extra money to get the fast pass well worth it from the time we walked in to the first maze we were screaming lol but we had so much fun the actors and their make up were on point they always stayed in character and some of them stood so still you would think it's a mannequin until they start running after you this place is awesome and the escape room is pretty cool we beat the room and disarmed the bomb it was such a fun night cant wait to see what's in store for next year because I heard they change it up every year and make it better this was definitely an EXPERIENCE !!!!!!

We waited for around 3 hours to get in on Saturday night but it was well worth it. Lots of people screaming for dear life, it could also be quite hilarious to watch the other people be scared out of their minds if you aren't scared so easily. Great haunted house attraction overall

Fun little haunted house as a person with a disability it's not the most accessible but they do guide you through it even though you have to skip a few areas. Very accommodating staff.

Every turn there was an unexpected surprise, you couldn't catch up with your own breath.

Great costumes! You can tell they don't rely on party city for that!

Anyone who thinks they can go to a haunt and not wait in line is a fool so anyone complaining about and leaving bad reviews because of a line can hush!

Came here for Night Of The Creeps and was completely blown away by the level of detail, props, scares, and most of all, the actors. I go to many haunted houses and the actors here are next level. We chose the contact necklaces to be touched. They were telling us that the upper floor is opening for Halloween and they will be having touch options every night this Halloween. We'll be back!

Best Halloween Scare event I've went to so far. I haven't done the escape room yet but I'm looking forward to going back next weekend to do it.

Just your average haunted attraction in the tri state area with nothing unique about this place. Could have had many more actors on duty, seemed like a lot of wasted opportunities for scares ect...we went on a busy Saturday night and they did a very good job of group spacing though. We never ran into a group ahead of us and vice versa like many other attractions in the area. The quality and attention to detail also isn't as good as others in the area.

There are far superior attractions in the tri state area over this attraction. Which provides more unique attractions with much more to do than Brighton Asylum..Don't waste your money here.

We come every year because it s one of our favorites. The actors all do a fantastic job and the sets are so detailed and unique. Scary but not too scary

I went through as a customer, and they scared the crap out of me. Now I work there and I love it even more. Amazing company, fantastic haunt. You've got to check it out!

I ve been to a lot of haunted attractions this by far is the worst one sorry to say , not worth the time , yes a LITTLE scary but not worth the wait...no hayrides we were in and out got there for our 9pm and done by 10:30 with only 2 attractions.. VISIT VALLEY OF FEAR NO WE TALKING SCARY ENJOY

I liked it! You have to make sure to get there early, because the line is super long. You can get the fast pass, I think it's called but although I liked it , I don't think the extra $20 was worth it. Our time slot was for 11pm n we probably would of been on line till 1am if we didn't pay the extra $20. I get easily scared so this was enough for me!! I think if this is your first time going to a haunted house, like it was for me, this is a good start.
