If you're looking for health foods this is a great spot, but it isn't cheap by any means. The hot food section/deli has a great selection of pre-made healthy delights, guaranteed to satisfy.

Everyone makes everyone feel welcome here. There's a great selection of foods. All of the people that work there are FANTASTIC. I appreciate each one. MaryLou has been working there, probably since I first started shopping in Grass Valley, a few decades back. Whenever I have a question, I always receive an efficient answer and I'm so grateful for this wonderful customer service. Of course I missed the salad bar and other things during this covid-19. It was one of the best salad bars anywhere.

Love the Briar Patch! It's a sweet little health food store with a very good selection of organic produce, nice well-stocked bulk section, great hot and cold food bar and deli with all kinds of food treats, smoothies and fresh juices plus. There's inside and outside dining. Really great little healthy food store!

This place rules! Really excellent salad bar. Huge selection of high quality beauty products. I'm very happy to have found this spot for healthy products and food. Also very clean bathrooms for a pit stop.

This is a full-service, very successful, well-established food co-op. Much more organic & local than Whole Foods, with everything you need: local, organic produce & flowers, healthy meats & seafood, bulk foods, hot meal & cold (salad) bar, deli case, hot & cold sandwich bar, coffee & tea, grab-n-go, inside & outside dining areas, local concert tickets, etc. Our favorite place to shop, with friendly staff and great people watching. Supportive of the community and constantly evolving based on suggestions from the owner-customers. Recently expanded parking lot with solar structure, electric vehicle charging stations coming soon.

I love when I have to go shopping and I get to go to BriarPatch! I always bring my son here, and they have the "banana club," where kids get a free banana, orange, apple, or carrot that they can eat in the store. This keeps him happy and occupied. BriarPatch has the absolute best quality food in every category, especially produce. I love the bulk section. The deli and hot food bar is great.

Huge selection of bulk hurbs. Super friendly staff. The prepared food is amazing. I haven't found something I wouldn't eat again yet. There are benefits to being a member but no negatives for not. Which is nice if you don't shop often enough to warrant the cost.

I love this place. For years and years, Whole Foods was my go to for healthy shopping. Now that I'm on the West Coast, BriarPatch is the place to shop! I will say that everything here is uber-expensive, so be ready to separate yourself from your money!!

Came here to pick up a roasted chicken for my best friend who's sick and saw a lot of other really nice stuff and ended up buying some peanut butter cookies for myself they were very good.

The only ding against it is crowds, which includes parking. It's a madhouse. They need more cashiering stands to handle the long lines. But that's because they have an excellent product including their prepared foods. Prices can be steep, but that's expected with this market of organic etc.

This food coop is really connected to the community! And this grass roots coop can compete with any large grocery store on quality, selection and services available! If you don t want to shop for food while you are hungry, definitely go to the cafe/deli inside and enjoy! Get a sandwich made to order and cup of Love Buzz coffee for a pick-me-up. And to top it all off the service is always friendly and top notch as well. The staff is always very helpful and courteous.

My favorite grocery store! I drive all the way from Marysville to shop here because they have the best organic produce at the lowest prices I've found in the area. They also have a wonderful self-service food bar, a yummy deli counter with numerous mouth watering prepared entrees and sides. And at the butcher's case, they have salmon cakes that are to die for. There's even a little coffee bistro, bakery and a cafeteria area to eat and relax in. The food is so fresh, the atmosphere so alive and the employees are always friendly, cheerful and at your assistance if needed.

I bought a piece of tres letche cake, dated may 28, 18 and was shocked that Briar Patch didn't throw it out but instead charged $5.99 for this! It was a hard gummy mess. I was on my way out of town so am out the money. Shame.

Love this place. I can find any ingredient I need for a recipe no matter how exotic. Everything I buy needs to be organic for health reasons and I can get everything I need all in one place. I love that even household items.are competitively priced and environmentally friendly.

Its not as great as you first think. No different than any other store - prices range from good to obscene. The produce quality is above avg. but at times disappointing. I think they could do a little better with fresh herb selections. Some of their bulk items are way below standard especially the olive oil from Berkeley is horrid. Overall a decent place to shop but no competition keeps Briar Patch from excelling.

I love this store and have just started going there. The food being cooked there smells wonderful and the quality of food is awesome. You can even get locally grown meat there! Recently I've gone to a raw diet and they have everything you need. Love it! Sure it's pricey but I believe worth it.
My only complaint is that I feel uncomfortable there it seems cliqueish. People are rude and pushy and make you feel unwanted there. Sometimes even the cashiers, mainly the younger ones. But the ladies who work in the supplement areas are wonderful. I will still come to this store, I just wish it was a bit roomier so you don't feel you are always in someone's way. It is very tight in there.
But thank you for such wonderful good food!

The food is a little expensive, but it appears to also be better quality. We just wandered through to see it and will likely go there the next time we are going for fresh vegetables. They have a lot of bulk grains. Also meats and stuff. A small whole foods is the best way to describe it

Nice organic grocery. Overpriced as most of organic grocery stores are. The glam of purchasing high-end food items and wearing ultra-hipster clothing to parade around the store seems a little excessive. But again, it is California, home of illusion. Bottom line, when I do shop here, I pay more money for a better product than in commercial grocery stores
