What an amazing place! Plenty of amazing produce, fantastic staff, and wonderful cafe. We were camped up charging our electric car and found the whole experience totally enjoyable. We only wish this was in our local supermarket!

It's great to have a grocery market like BriarPatch in Nevada County. There's a number of items that are hard to find without having to travel for 45 minutes. The prices are ridiculous, but I'm sure that doesn't surprise you.

The store has a great selection of items (a huge area for bulk grains and spices, big produce and hot food areas) and have handled covid19 quite well. I stop here all the time and it's my go-to grocery store for organic food :)

Always a pleasure. Staff nice and extra helpful. I can find what I'm looking for. They always have my favorite Tazo teas. Breakfast bar has options but sometime potatoes on the bar are too soft. Really love the bulk section.

We don't shop here much for groceries, but do pop in for dinner occasionally. The hot food bar is too expensive, but the burgers and grilled sandwiches are made to order and are mostly $10 or less and are very good. They have a ready-made cold food section (some of which may be heated at home or in their microwave). Our favorite things are the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, the bacon and blue cheese burger, and epic grilled cheese sandwich. And their cold turkey provolone sandwich is super good.

From a Covid perspective, safest market we've been to. Masks are strictly enforced, no arguments. 40 folks maximum, so yeah, there's about a 5-minute wait. Same great selection, lots of organic / vegan / gluten-free choices, but also excellent beef, pork, seafood and poultry. Also staples and prepared food available. Can't miss!

I miss the old Briarpatch off of Grass Valley Highway near the nursery. The building is state of the art, they do have a deli since they opened the new place about 14 years ago. But I miss the old days and the lighter pricing. That said, I do shop there when I'm in town for some of their house made tinctures and other wellness products and I give them two more stars than the Sac CoOp! Sac CoOp could learn from the Briarpatch on customer service and friendliness. Also, I read a negative review of someone complaining that "old ladies told them to pull their masks up" of that is true, I'll more likely shop there since that means they care about my health
Please be thoughtful and wear a proper mask over your nose and mouth. Duh!

I really Enjoy Brair patch. Shop with them at least 3 times a week. The availability to high quality products on a wide variety is unmatched in the GV area. I enjoy the breakfast bar, however I believe it is overpriced. Charging the same price /lb. For sausage, eggs, biscuits/gravy etc. As dinner items with more meat, ingredients and prep seems a little crazy. I know I'd buy more if it was priced reasonably. Recipes are great though

Excellent choice of organic locally sourced produce, healthy options, delicious sandwiches and wraps made to order, and a huge bulk section with nearly anything you can think of. Very friendly staff as well.

What i particularly like about briarpatch at this ...

What i particularly like about briarpatch at this time is how careful they are about coronavirus. They only allow 40 people in the store, and masks are required. Staff is still very helpful and friendly, and the selection of organic foods is still top notch. And not as expensive as it could be.

Probably the best co-op in the world. havent seen anything better when it comes to price and selection. The bulk section is epic. A mecca for everything organic, and it is a distributor. become a member and enjoy. Love the music out front. Ties the whole community together well, and the staff are well trained and extremely polite.

Love Briar we found it 8 years ago, we pay a little more but are comfortable knowing they carry majority of
Organic produce. With that said I do feel that with this pandemic everyone should have to wear masks to enter the store. Its not forever but until there is a vaccine 7:00 till 10:00 in the morning is not enough..Super spreader are real.
