Great selection but when I asked if they gave a military discount like Sunrise Natural foods, I was told the manager didn't do those because then he would have to give discounts to "draft dodgers" too! Really now? That was my last visit. Sunrise Natural foods is much more customer friendly and apparently not run by an angry leftwing jerk!!

Everything here is delicious, good quality and a little bit pricey not everything but some things I think they are over priced. But I go there to shop anyway. Can't buy everything there but some things I still get them from the Coop.

This place has something for everyone. The lunch specials are always delicious, the salad bar is bursting with fresh veg from local gardens, the bakery has baked goods for any diet (low carb, vegan, gluten free). They also offer made-to-order burritos and burgers in their deli section. Their grocery store is decent - if thou can't find it at a regular chain store, chances are the Co-op will have it. Plenty of parking (just a bit hilly).

This place is amazing. It's a co-op like the one in Sacramento, just a tad smaller.

Everyone is nice, the employees are courteous as well as helpful. They also have a nice, shaded, area with dog poop bag stations above. I like to sit and work or relax while my car is charging.

Oh and let's talk about the new chargers. They JUST activated these beauties. I never saw a ChargePoint fast charger before now. Reasonable and competitively priced, too.

The bonus is it is within walking distance to the local community college, Sierra College.

If you enjoy getting screwed out of your entire pa...

If you enjoy getting screwed out of your entire paycheck in order to eat organically this place is for you. This place is by far the most expensive natural grocery store ive ever been to. Organic produce will never be commonplace or mainstream with elitist prices like they charge. The staff has never offered me help finding anything, even though, there are throngs of them throughout the store. You can generally hear them telling personal anecdotes to each other, which is unprofessional and annoying. The food is no doubt good and high quality, but the store is so crowded; its awful. If you even just get a handbasket to carry your groceries, you are constantly in other people's way. It's down right unnerving. I could not believe it when they built another parking area instead of opening up the store so that there would be room to shop. All around, i would give them a giant thumbs down. A healthfood store should be a safe haven; it should not cause you anxiety to get your groceries, but should be welcoming and calming. That's just my opinion.

This co-op has a great selection of local, organic and natural foods but the prices are off the charts so I rarely shop here. Customer service is amazing, however. I've belonged to many true co-ops in other cities and I just wish this was one of them but it feels more like a Whole Foods than a true co-op.

My daughter has been hooked on their burgers ever since we lived in Colfax & she worked at All Aquatics (no longer in business in GV). We have lived in Newcastle now for almost 10 yrs and if she has time she will drive all the way to GV just to go to Briar Patch

Cute co-op with great prepared foods and a decent selection. Prices are higher than most places but it's clear that they're putting money back into the business - the place looks great, and the staff seems happy

No place like it in GV. The vibe is always nice and the food is pretty dang delicious along with their juiced on the spot drinks. The food bar can be iffy but that's the customer's fault and not theirs.

What do I need to say beyond what I m sure all the locals know this place has got it going on! If you re visiting Nevada County or have never seen it, get to BPFC pronto. Prices are worth the selections, the staff is super-friendly and on point, and the store carries a large selection of our hero Paul Stamets good-fungi vibes. It s a coop and it s clear the cooperation is giving the community a great gift.

Organics and bulk food that rivals Bay Area co-op markets. Hard to find spices, flours or small farm produce? - it's likely available here. Food court and dining area, both inside and outside. Make sure you have extra time on your first visit! You'll want to check out every isle.

I visited the hot food bar. They charge according to the weight of the food on your plate. The service was exceptional, but the food seemed a little expensive for what I chose to eat that day. I noticed that there were considerable lines waiting to order their lunch at the sandwich bar. I'll be sure to try it next time.

I love to take a break there when I get tired from running around. I love to have a cup of soup and fresh fruit salad, or sushi. Very cool and healthy. I can only buy certain things though due to low income. I enjoy the acoustic music outside when I'm having cup of soup. Each day there is a choice of three soups. All healthy.
