Best organic produce. Expensive, but the highest if quality

An excellent selection of fresh veggies and other sundries. Veggies are locally sourced when in season! Great service too. So popular and busy, the narrow aisles can feel a bit cramped.

something is not right with customer service for irregulars

Ok its Expensive , but great place to shop and have a meal . Plus as a coop member i did get a few dollars back this year.

Located in Grass Valley, California, this is one of the best natural food stores North of Sacramento and South of Ashland, OR. Pretty darn good salad bar, produce section, outdoor and indoor eating for munching down your salad and hot bar selections. They also have a deli and bulk foods. Let's give 'em a 4.5 star rating.

Excellent prepared food, and wide selection of what you'd expect, and better, from a "whole foods" kind of place. Extremely friendly service.

This place is my second favorite coop in California and that should say enough! The selections of herbs, medicines, veggies and health food is unsurpassed.

Great food! Great organic selection. Only down side is that it can get super busy and a little hard to navigate when it's packed.

Pricey, the best produce in town next to the farmers market or your garden. Bulk orders are a deal and a breeze. The salad bar is very well done. Great local meats and herbs.

Love, Love, LOVE! Love their salad bar especially! Love their veggie quesadillas (and you can have vegan cheese instead of cow cheese), love their pastries. There's nothing there that I don't love. I just wish there was one near me.

Can't say it enough, SHOP LOCAL! This place is the bees knees when it comes to organic locally sourced food. Absolutely amazing hot food bar coupled with a deli to live for. This grocery is a local staple and has truly grown to match the demand so we can hope for a sister store in the future? Perhaps :) Expanded parking a new Express Lanes make in and outs easy. Until you run into family, friends, co workers and an all around great staff. You might end up staying for an unplanned meal...

They got what you need. I shop here several times a week. Like any grocery store, theres things they don't have. But they have a range that I like.

Pleasantly surprised! I have never visited a co-op before, the fresh hot food and deli was great. The other 4 people I was with also very much enjoyed it too. I will definitely visit again the next time I'm in Grass Valley !

It's THE place for healthy food and groceries in the area. Friendly staff and great options in the deli for all dietary needs.

A smaller store than the city co-ops, but they carry some unique local products. Always a great selection of plants available. Some of the food is a bit pricey, but mostly local produce. The food bar has good gluten-free options.

Excellent place! Just go and find out. Deli that serves everything hot and cold, very tasty and fresh. Best place to shop in Grass Valley and I'm sure if you shop here you will obtain more mental clarity, better mood and way more energy. Eat good/feel good, eat bad/feel bad. And the food here is top quality. Great customer service too!

We love this local favorite. Organic fresh food market and hot foods bar, with every option imaginable for healthy eating. The people watching is great also!

Best freaking place ever oh my god!! I love coming here all the time. The people are nice and the food in the deli area are so good. Everytime i try something knew im never disappointed. Beware theres alot of down to earth hippies, and hippy food. Its like the organic version of Wal-Mart.

Surprisingly inexpensive on some things. Love the philly cheese steak from the kitchen!

Great variety of produce, fish, meat, bulk foods, salad bar, deli. Has lost the same small town feeling of the old place that I loved when I moved here over 20 years ago. Staff seems rushed and less friendly than in days of old. Doesn't feel like any of the friendly co-op's that I have ever been to in any other state or city. But it's really a good source of everything that my family eats and buys. Thank you, Briar Patch. You can do better.

Everyone's just so snobby. Even the cashier that checked me out seemed like I was wasting her time.

Crowded, front area usually habituated by stinky show offs who seem to live there. Pricy and uppity. Adorable staff and good vitamins.

Smells better than most grocery stores... Absolutely wonderful selection of minerals and essential oils and all your health food needs etc. Great food bar too! Doesn't take too long at all, not too expensive either, for some great burritos, sandwiches, etc.

Friendly environment, fresh and amazing food. Organic produce and a full deli and hot food buffet. Grocery store items and one of a kind items. We live 30 mins away and we will definitely be going back! Try their pasties!!

Like no other, I have looked. I go to all the Natural food stores when traveling. Have been going here before the new great store. Have great sales, and a 10% owner one purchase discounts on various months. The Deli is wonderful, as is the bulk foods section, and the produce section is better than any place around. So popular anymore, I try to find the off crowd times to go. Easy to shop if you know where things are.

I go here at least four times a week, the mocha is amazing. Melodie and Jered do a fantastic job of making me feel welcomed and like I m family. As soon as I walk in there they know exactly what I want and ALWAYS greet me by name. Also the pumpkin bread is TO DIE FOR.

Really arrogant snobby employees. The clientele were pretty horrid as well. Way overpriced and the food just wasn't that good not recommended

The co-op is the most consumer friendly health food store in Nevada County. This has many reasons but what makes it all work at the end of th day are it's employees. Friendly and Always present to help with any questions or quests! The best produce and organics, bulk dispenser staples, Deli and so much more in a fairly small space. Customer services counter will find and special order products from their suppliers even if they don't stock those items in store. Great store!

This place is excellent, top notch. Food is great, bulk section is affordable for usually expensive foods! Environment is great! Stay away from the food bar for affordability but it smells so good, oh my. What ties the whole place together is the music out front it is amazing and brings light and life to community

Yes, Briar Patch Food Coop is my favorite food store in all of northern California.

Although the store is crowded and I find it stressful it has great prepared food and funky herbs and spices that are hard to find at at other places. My family likes to make chai tea and it has some weird spices we always get at briar patch. Their fruit and veggies are very good also.

I have been patronizing Briar Patch for 36 years when it was a small startup. I love how it's grown over the years and kept to it's original premise of Organic, Fair Trade, Healthy, and Support Local Farmers.
