Great food, the place had the look and feel that it had been there for sometime while still looking fresh. Old school highback chairs but modern art on the wall. Way too many waiters, but appeared to have a nice rotating menu. Goes without saying the food was awesome and while pricey it seemed about worth the cost. Classic French NOs drinks, did not even bother looking at what beers they had. They have a courtyard I intend to check out next time.

Brennan's is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere! The food has been consistently delicious and perfectly prepared everytime we've been here for the past three decades. Staff is attentive, friendly and fun. I love it! Deserves more than 5 stars, in my opinion.

We are regulars to Brennan's. The food is great, as you'd expect, but the service has become quite perfunctory, rushed and transactional. Our first experiences here were more personable and special.

I came here spur of the moment for my birthday and they gave me the red carpet treatment. Francisco was our main waiter and he was fantastic. The drinks were awesome, food was amazing, and service was fast, precise, and welcoming.

Always a favorite, this version of Brennan's brings the classic New Orleans fare to the Bayou City. The Brennan's staples are there - turtle soup, gumbo, etc. - but this location has a greater emphasis on gulf coast seafood and traditional steakhouse offerings. Don't miss the Bananas Foster (made tableside) for dessert and grab a praline on your way out.

Came here for restaurant week and was pretty disappointed. The waiter only seemed to only be interested in selling us wine and didn't take our food order until a full hour after we had sat down. The food was good, but not worth the 3.5 hrs it took for them to serve us a simple 3 course meal. I really wanted to like Brennans, but the service left a lot to be desired for the $$$ price.

This place was actually really bad, 2 of us in the party got the wrong items and the service was midtier.

The gumbo is better at bbs tex-orleans, my grilled fish was dry and bland and cold, my boyfriend's bbq shrimp was messy and wet and bad. We got 4 different desserts and the only one that was good was the bananas foster

Love this place for business lunches. Table cloths, carpet and great big chairs make it easy to talk with your associates. Service is excellent. Very few places like this are left inside the loop in Houston.

For the price, absolutely not worth it. Made 8pm reservations. Our table wasn t ready until 8:45pm. It took an hour and a half from the time I ordered until my food came out. Also, I ordered the duck and not only was it dry, but it also tasted like bad Chinese food.

A New Orleans original in an historic building makes for an unforgettable dining experience. Don't miss the turtle soup and the Bananas Foster, both of which are trademarks. One of the few restaurants in Houston where you really do need to dress up -- no shorts!

Worth going if in Houston

Worth going if in Houston
Good food, good service and good wine list.
Food quality is good but not great (freshness lacked and tastes a bit jumbled).
Wine list is expensive but a good selection.

My sister and I just came here for our wedding day lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meals and he service was great. I had the grilled fresh fish (Gulf red fish) and also the seafood gumbo. Both were delicious, maybe better than the last time we were here a number of years ago. We were a bit pinched for time, so we had to skip out without the banana foster (so good), but the waiters brought us a nicely decorated plate of pralines with Congratulations written in chocolate. Food start off really quickly, which at first I thought was odd. You are getting your first course within minutes of sitting down. First course - a lobster claw with crab salad over a pickled fired green tomato. Once you finish that course, out comes the next. Second course was an amazing scallop. None of these are small course. We finish this and proceed. Next course was half a quail with some of he best stuffing I have ever had. Sorry no pictures. By this point I realize why food came out so quickly. There was a lot to eat and they needed to give you breaks later in the meal. Highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

We have been celebrating birthdays and anniversaries at Brennan s for 20 years. Last night we celebrated our anniversary at Brennan s again. I made the mistake of making our reservation on Open Table instead of calling them directly. When we arrived they had our reservation but none of the information I had provided on Open Table such as a request for main dining room as well as celebrating our anniversary. The seating hostess at first was not helpful as she was placing us in the back room. We explained our requests in seating on our reservation.
At that point the maitre d , Daniel, stepped in and made everything right as well as continuing to come by and see that all was well. We had a lovely evening and would highly recommend Brennan s. Thank you, Daniel.

For a nice white table cloth restaurant, you expect great service for the money you are paying. We received the worst service I have ever experienced in the years my family and I have been going there. We did not get our appetizers until 1.5 hours after we ordered them and our meal 2 hours after ordering... And to make up for it they didn't comp one thing (appetizers or meal) and just brought some desserts instead that we did not need. We will no longer be going back here.

Absolutely phenomenal renowned fine dining. This place is fantastic. A lovely piece of New Orleans in Houston's midtown. The service is incredible and the food is delicious. There is a reason that this has been a Houston institution for generation. Definitely try the bananas foster, as they make it table side.

One of the finest restaurants in Houston. If for nothing else, go for their brunch and enjoy the turtle soup (to die for) eggs Brennan and finish off with the Banannas Foster. You will not regret it, and if you only have one bellini you won't break the bank

My spouse and I stopped in late afternoon, 1:30pm, for lunch. It was fantastic. We were seated in a room upstairs which had a view of the patio area. The waitstaff was great, They were very helpful with my dietary needs. We both ordered seafood dishes that were yummy! And for desert we had bananas foster. Double Yummy!

Don't really have much to say about Brennan's. Been there a handful of times for brunch mostly. Bring $5 cash for parking, it's worth it, and pretty cheap. Was lastly there a bridal shower. Staff were attentive, the jazz trio stopped by for about 10mins. It's chique.
