Brasserie V Review

Very nice looking restaurant that serves good authentic Belgian food. They also have a wide variety of beers. The staff is always friendly. It is a bit expensive but definitely worth it. I would recommend this place

I've had a lot or burgers and most of the time they're exactly okay. This place had the best burger I've had in my life. It's also moderately priced at $12 plus fries that are amazing.

Definitely worth giving a try at least once.

This place is always busy but the food is above average, the cheese tray is on point and the beer was good and cold. The staff was also full of knowledge and friendly. .when I'm am back in town I will try again

Great food and beer selection. They serve their reuben with pastrami, which was a huge plus for me. The frites and the dipping sauce they provide with them are a must-have.

Excellent beer selection organized by region. The food was very good, Belgian themed. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cost and causal. If you like beer special imported beer this is a great place to check out.

Absolutely loved the ratatouille! A wide cocktail and beer menu accompanied by a quaint and home like atmosphere.

Waited for awhile for a table ordered chicken dish came out raw and asked for different dish due to possibly getting food poisoning but was given reheated chicken that I didn't want I asked for croque madame I was given croque monsieur instead and I don't really care for tomatoes. First time there not a good time yes my meal was taken off the bill but it didn't relieve my feelings about the food especially with the prices.

A very warm place on a cold night. Careful staff, great food, and an amazing beer selection. Bar or restaurant seating. Great smells and a relaxing hubbub in the background. Reminds me of classic turn of the century eastern taverns, with impeccably polished woodwork.

My mother, daughter, and I stopped here before a concert for an early dinner. I was soooo hungry. They shared fries, which they loved. They did look amazing. I started with the cauliflower, also delicious. Mom had a burger, she loved it. (She had been here before, and always loves the burger) Daughter had a sandwich, she liked it. I had the endive salad, it was very good. I like my salads to have other veggies added, instead of fruit and proteins, that is just my preference. The dressing was good, I had them leave off the nuts. Our server was pleasant and did a good job. All in all a good experience. I will go back.

This is one of my two favorite bars near Monroe Street. The frittes are amazing, but it's difficult to be disappointed with any of the food. I love the wide variety of beers and wines. It can get busy at night, but I've always gotten a table fairly quickly or had a place at the bar. It's a bit pricey for college students, but I like how that makes it feel a bit more sophisticated while still being casual. I love coming here for lunch. Everyone who works there is very nice and willing to help you find the perfect dish or drink!

I beg all of those who visit to get the fondue. Please get the fondue. I'm asking you for your benefit. Get the fondue.

Pricey and tiny portions. $5 "happy hour" meatball dish is LITERALLY 1 small Ikea sized meatball in gravy... LOL no thanks.

Very good beer selection! Went during happy hour for $2 off Belgian taps. Food came out quite nicely, excellent risotto. I am impressed that they sell 750 mL Bruery and Bruery Terreux beer from orange county with only minimal markup - these are excellent to share with a group.

Got the braised pork belly and scallop dish - 1 scallop and a chunk of 90% pork fat for $25. It wasn t bad, but it wasn t $25 quality. I d stick to the beer and the moules folks.

My 7yrs. old daughter and I biked to this place today, playing bike bingo. The hostess asked if we intended to buy anything. I said no, she then repeated herself, so I politely asked her to read the "no purchase necessary" on the bingo card. Another family came in with us, and she dashed off to the bar to get it stamped. She stayed all the way over by the bar as the bartender stamped it and came over and smiled and said you've almost got it all done! We've eaten here one other time but don't intend to come back now. We visited 17 businesses today and they were all cordial and either frequent those places or intend to in the future. Epic fail here!

What an absolute gem of a restaurant in Monroe street. I ve been here several times and it s always phenomenal. Great selection of taps and wines. The steamed mussels are absolutely to-die-for!! The menu is fresh, seasonal, and constantly rotating so there is always something new to try. The Belgian frites are crispy and flavorful and come with exquisite sauces. It s some of the best food I ve tasted in Madison. Don t miss it!

One of the best beer bars in the state. Excellent curated selection of American, Belgian, and Greater European beer. Taplist is excellent, bottle list is amazing. The food is always wonderful and the staff are extremely knowledgeable. It can get very crowded particularly on weekends, but, hey just go the bar and grab a world class beer while you wait.

Love Brasserie V. Great Tap with a wide range of beer styles, thought they privilege Belgian beers ... St. Bernardus Abt 12 is on permanent tap. Good food, too.

A cool little restaurant/pub. They had a fairly large variety of beers both domestic and foreign. Their lunch menu was concise but well planned and the food was great.

Good Food and excellent beer selection. Best "frites" in town.
It can be very busy. So, expect a wait by the door. Some Staff can be a bit aloof, while other Staff members are always welcoming and attentive.
That aside, it's one of my favorites.

Very good!! Roast chicken, very good, very famous Flemish carbonade! Sorry had to practice a little French! The carbonade flamande is beyond excellent, very deep complex flavors !!!

Great local place to grab a bite to eat and drink a imported beer. Huge beer selection with 2 bars that can serve you. Plenty of seating for lunch or dinner. Get there early because the place fills up fast for dinner. Your beer is almost always served in the glass it is suppose to be served in.

The frites are awesome and I would highly recommend trying them. There are vegetarian options. I had the apple and swiss cheese sandwich served on a baguette. My girlfriend had the mushroom risotto.

One of our favorites in Madison Brasserie V has an outstanding beer collection, with strengths in numerous categories. Lovers of Belgian beers can be find themselves with very limited choices in the US, but they will be delighted with the amazing range of choices here, including many on tap. Food here is also consistently a cut above most gastro-pubs, with a menu that often features truly outstanding dishes (take heed of the specials).

The chicken fennel soup was absolutely fabulous, wanted to take a quart home youi Chicago. The duck was cooked to perfection, on the frisee salad it was amazing, and all gluten free.

A great menu, with superb moules and frites. The daily soup is usually exceptional, so be sure and check it out.

Fantastic beer selection with a lot of great Belgian beers. The food never disappoints, and one of my favorite places to just sit at the bar. Definitely recommend checking it out if you've never been before.

My husband, friends, and I have been here a couple times and we will definitely keep coming back! Since moving to Madison about 6 months ago this has been our favorite restaurant yet! The ambiance is intimate, the beer list is endless, and I have always had a stellar meal.

Excellent beer selection and very flavorful food. The beer list contains many bruise that I was unfamiliar with but the descriptions are sufficient so you can make an informed decision.

We had the cheese plate for an appetizer & I had the V burger with frites; the food was quite good, but I feel the portions were small for the price & having the burger between two thin slices of bread made for a poor first impression.

Between the excellent atmosphere, the wonderful customer service, and the delicious food and beer, we have a winner! Don't miss this incredible beer selection! I absolutely love this joint, and I try to visit from Janesville a few times a year! It's worth the trip! I already can't wait to go back!

Staff is always friendly and accommodating, huge beer selection, food is good but not outstanding. One time it closed early with guests being ushered out for no apparent reason (we had only been there ten minutes and had to quick finish drinks and find somewhere else to go) and it has been closed for lunch when the times on the door said it should be open. Not sure what was up with that...

Been coming here for six years. Always a great experience. Unparalleled food, beer, and drink selection in the city. Perhaps our favorite restaurant period. It can be expensive but that should be expected when most of the drinks are imported. Seriously a fantastic place
