We stayed at The Boulders for just 6 days for vacation. Honestly, wish we could have stayed longer! We rented a 3-bedroom villa and it was amazing. It seems they thought of everything from blankets, fire logs for the fireplace, bottled water, laundry soap, plenty of towels, and even night lights. The home was very clean and quiet. The service was incredible, expeditious and accurate. We ordered room service and it was delicious. Our stay was filled with torrential rain so we didn't get to visit the pools at all, but we did see plenty of wildlife just outside our patio! So serene and picturesque. We'd love to stay here again!

Feels otherworldly here. Before afternoon you ll feel like you have the place to yourself and it is truly surreal. About 10 degrees cooler than the valley and silent.
The Boulders Resort & Spa is a wonderful spot to get away, relax and have fun. It is beautifully manicured and is a bright example of a vacation away from everything. The on-site restaurants have awesome menus that are incredibly delicious and satisfying. Recreation activities are top notch with rock climbing being one of my favorites. I found the spa services a little pricey, but being a male, it's not something I normally indulge in. However, the price of a general massage was not to my expectations. The staff was attentive, polite and very friendly. I did not play golf, but the beautiful courses seemed inviting and we'll maintained. It's worth staying here for a few days and soaking in the beauty of Carefree, AZ.
Attended a conference with a packed agenda so didn't get to truly experience all it had to offer. Food was outstanding, the service was great, the view just simply awesome. I enjoyed the room which was spacious. The only complaint was when showed up at the room there was an open bag of mixed nuts and in 2 and a half days never got me a working coffee machine. To their credit the did then deliver me coffee in the morning, but I was a bit surprised that wasn't resolved easier. I did enjoy my stay and would gladly come back.
I attended a wedding at this resort and was blown away by the breathtaking outdoor scenery. This is the most romantic resort I have visited that doesn't reside on an oceanfront. The 3 bedroom home we stayed in was beautifully decorated and spacious and all the resort staff we encountered were beyond friendly and helpful! I don't routinely consider Phoenix as a vacation destination but this resort has definitely changed my mind. I absolutely will be returning to this resort in the future.
A beautiful place for a getaway! I visited The Boulders from Carmel, Indiana. With the three our time difference, we arrived around midnight and the first thing I thought of walking in... "I just walked into Fred Flintstone's house". But we came down the road and all I could do was look ^up^. The stars. Wow! It was absolutely beautiful. With it being midnight there, it was 3am back in Indiana. But I was wide away. I set my alarm for 4:45am and went and saw the sunset the next morning. I went on to one of the tee boxes, just before you get to the "clubhouse"-lobby area (You actually shoot your shot over the road), and I stood up there and watched the sunset.
My Dad called my room and we decided to play golf that morning (which we originally didn't plan on doing), but how could you not with the beautiful weather we were having...
The golf and "morning" weather was so wonderful, everyday we had a tee time for first thing in the morning (which was usually about 7:00am). The weather was a little "cool" and calm. We were playing an entire 18 holes, we would have lunch there at the restaurant at the golf clubhouse, and we would then meet up with my mom at the "Waldorf" Spa Pool.
With the relaxing music, drink service, and the beautiful scenery behind us... we would stay at that pool till about 2-3 (by then the heat was getting up there). We would go back and change and then my cousin (who also works there at the Boulders) would take us into Scottsdale to show us around. He took us to his apartment, took us to some wonderful dinner restaurants, we even went to the casino.
It was the best getaway I've had in many years. 7 days of the beautiful sun, amazing service, and so of the best golf I've ever seen or played. I now know why golfers live there because somehow, I was shooting under par and sticking everything on the pin.
I'm only 24 years old, and I would recommend the Boulders to ANYONE!
Also make sure you walk the trails to the top of one of the boulders, what an amazing and beautiful scene. The wildlife was amazing as well. Saw anything you can think of, except snakes (I was kind of bummed on that one).
Thank you to the entire Boulders and Waldorf staff! I will be back.
I actually wish I was there right now for the PGA and SuperBowl!
Lovely hotel... absolutely hate the mandatory resort fee, which is not visible when booking. Just bake it into the whole price considering you can't avoid them. It's silly.
Not what it used to be. We left early due to the poor condition of the room, pool, and grounds. We stated this upon checking out. We were amazed to see the charge for the remaining days still on our credit card when we returned home. We called the hotel were informed they had a no refund policy. After getting a representative from Expedia involved we were given our refund for the days we did not stay. Years ago the hotel was run by the Waldorf and was clean and top notch. The location is gorgeous, too bad.
Had a little "staycation" here. Staff was wonderful eager to please, room was nice and updated. Had incredible view from our room, and we had nice quiet romantic walk around the resort at night.
Thankfully, I actually never stayed here due to COVID. The receptionist at this establishment not only denied my request for cancellation and refund (which I thankfully disputed through my credit card company and received a full refund), she had the audacity to laugh and call me a liar on the phone when I explained my situation. She then hung up on me. Hopefully they can hire a new staff that has any basic understanding of human decency moving forward. I will never stay at this resort and I will tell everyone I know about this situation and encourage them to never stay there as well.
This place is unique, southwest, and beautiful. The whole resort is gorgeous. We loved the cactus, many small animals roaming, and of course the Boulders. The unique layout of the rooms, and having small adobes versus a high rise was also great. We enjoyed walking around, and the pool too. The Spotted Donkey had great Mexican food. The service was exceptional, especially the golf cart drivers. If you haven't stayed here, they have golf cart drivers that will take you all over the resort (which is great if warm). They are so helpful and personable. They really know Service. This was a great few days for my family, and this is a unique place to stay. I highly recommend it.
The Boulders Resort and Spa is a beautiful property. Our room was fantastic and the staff was wonderful. The reason for only four stars is related to a charge made to my credit card after we had checked out. The charge was admittedly small, but we were not contacted that the charge was being made or what it was for. I received a notice from my credit card company that the pending charge had been made that evening and called the Boulders to ask why. The individual at the front desk indicated that it was likely for use of the mini bar. I indicated that we did not use the mini bar other than to store items we brought from home that needed remain cold. I also noted that he could tell by our bill that we had used the lounge both nights we were there, so had no need for the mini bar. He said the charges would be reversed. They were not. I tried contacting them again with not luck. My recommendation is that unless you plan to use the mini bar you have them remove all the items prior to your arrival.
ALL of the staff was oh so kind and truly made my experience one to remember. Their service was impeccable and left me feeling like a VIP. Thank you!!!
