Chris Tillery Review of Boulders Resort and Golden Doo...

A beautiful place for a getaway! I visited The Boulders from Carmel, Indiana. With the three our time difference, we arrived around midnight and the first thing I thought of walking in... "I just walked into Fred Flintstone's house". But we came down the road and all I could do was look ^up^. The stars. Wow! It was absolutely beautiful. With it being midnight there, it was 3am back in Indiana. But I was wide away. I set my alarm for 4:45am and went and saw the sunset the next morning. I went on to one of the tee boxes, just before you get to the "clubhouse"-lobby area (You actually shoot your shot over the road), and I stood up there and watched the sunset.
My Dad called my room and we decided to play golf that morning (which we originally didn't plan on doing), but how could you not with the beautiful weather we were having...
The golf and "morning" weather was so wonderful, everyday we had a tee time for first thing in the morning (which was usually about 7:00am). The weather was a little "cool" and calm. We were playing an entire 18 holes, we would have lunch there at the restaurant at the golf clubhouse, and we would then meet up with my mom at the "Waldorf" Spa Pool.
With the relaxing music, drink service, and the beautiful scenery behind us... we would stay at that pool till about 2-3 (by then the heat was getting up there). We would go back and change and then my cousin (who also works there at the Boulders) would take us into Scottsdale to show us around. He took us to his apartment, took us to some wonderful dinner restaurants, we even went to the casino.
It was the best getaway I've had in many years. 7 days of the beautiful sun, amazing service, and so of the best golf I've ever seen or played. I now know why golfers live there because somehow, I was shooting under par and sticking everything on the pin.
I'm only 24 years old, and I would recommend the Boulders to ANYONE!
Also make sure you walk the trails to the top of one of the boulders, what an amazing and beautiful scene. The wildlife was amazing as well. Saw anything you can think of, except snakes (I was kind of bummed on that one).
Thank you to the entire Boulders and Waldorf staff! I will be back.
I actually wish I was there right now for the PGA and SuperBowl!
