What a perfect place to spend your sunday afternoon woth your friends/family. Enter from the southern part, walk your way up north to the beautiful views of Sydney Harbour. I believe therr are thousands of unique plants and the kind you will not see in the old continents. Finish your tour by visiting mrs macquaries chair, take your pictures there and walk to the opera house.

Put on your comfortable shoes and carry a bottle of water also.

Amazing variety of plants. The gardens are huge and will take you a while if you take your time looking through all it has to offer. Went three days in a row for a few hours each to explore the gardens. The Plants With A Bite exhibit at The Calyx was phenomenal with a wide range of carnivorous plants. Even without stopping for information at each plant the garden offers beautiful scenery for a nice walk along the water towards the Sydney Opera House.

This is a beautiful place, not sure if anyone could have deliberately planned Sydney or whether it emerged little by little creating nuggets of wonder whenever you turned a corner. The Botanic Garden (Royal should I say) is just lovely I spent nearly 10 years working in the UK in a parks department and know just how much work and effort goes into creating such magnificent places in parks. This is an outstanding place for wildflower gardens to formal topiary hedges (or Koala in this case). The maintenance is perfect (although the spiders aren't quite so perfect) the ponds are reflective, not sure about the eels though that's not a pleasant story..... I leave that one there! Could easily have spent hour upon hour here but had so much to see and do didn't have that much time. BUT loved every minute.

So beautiful and so peaceful. A really lovely walk after we saw the bridge and opera house. The 'choo choo' train is well worth it and our train driver and guide was super informative. A great space to just relax, workout, or enjoy the plethora of plants.

We walked from Aria Restaurant at the end of Macquarie Street right round the Opera House, through the gate and into a wonderland of different plant, tree and flower species; every turn was a new surprise!! Brilliantly signposted, interspersed with artworks park benches, cafes, rostrums - we followed the path into the garden towards the Calyx - a hub of activity - displays exhibitions food shopping - but you don't have a clue about what it is until you actually GET THERE!! There is a spectacular fountain venerating Governor Phillip a beautiful rose garden another lovely cafe. ..
And on top it off you are in the most spectacular harbour city in the world - just turn around and look out at the view!!!
Definitely a must do -spend a day in the Sydney Botanical Gardens!!
If I could give 10 stars I would!!

The gardens are close to every place you would want to visit: the Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the Art Gallery of NSW. The gardens have different exhibitions --the Calyx is a must watch. The gardens are beautiful and divided into O various themes. One day is not enough!

Sydney's Royal Botanic Garden is a MAGNIFICENT but also a very GLAMOROUS place to hang out and stroll around, or even find a bench to sit and contemplate the glory of life. The garden itself has wide-open spaces, so very spacious to walk around and/or exercise. When you move inwards into the garden, there is a stunning view (i.e. the blue ocean/waves in contrast to the blue sky + the Opera House & Sydney Bridge). Breathtaking!

Are you a nature lover? I am. Maybe you are too! So come along! You won't be disappointed, my guarantee!
