My experience with BMW of Sterling has been good and bad. My past experience though was the worst I have ever had since I've been there. I made a scheduled appointmet for 9:30am on Saturday April 12th. I brought my 2009 128i convertible in for a state inspection, and the driver's side seat heater wasn't working. It has 43,250ish miles on it so I asked about what other maintenance needed to be done. My Service Advisor (SA), printed out the sheet based on the info he got from my key fob. Told me that only real maintenance was 2 fluid changes at about $180 a piece. I agreed to that and wanted an oil change and the breaks checked but was told I don't need those for another 2500 miles. Hmm...so he doesn't want my money for an oil change and can't be bothered to have my breaks checked. Ok so moving on, was told the seat heater would take a few days and would get me a loaner. Great no problem. I did tell him I had an extended warranty through a 3rd party (sold to me by the BMW dealership), so they could work with that for the cost of the seat heater. I was told that the replacement seat heater would be $1400 because it's built into the leather but the warranty company would only pay about $750. My SA said he was going to work with the warranty company to see if they would come down a little lower, but if not I would have to pay the difference. I was also told the seat was a special order from Germany and would take 3-4 weeks so they will do the fluid changes and state inspection and I would return when the seat came in. I was told I would only be charged for the stuff not related to the car seat, just the inspection and fluid changes. So Tuesday the 15th I called the warranty company and asked why they were not paying for the whole repairs (minus my $250 deductable). I was told that the dealership wanted 3.9 hours labor, and the warranty company (EZ Care) would only pay for 2.2 hours. They were waiting for paperwork from the dealer to justify the extra 1.7 hours of labor. On Tuesday about 4:30 I called the dealership to find out the status of my car. The SA said they were just finishing it up the fluid changes,and should be ready by 5:30. He would call me when it was finished so I could get it. 5:35 came and he told me that the car was finished but he forgot to do the state inspection, so it wouldn't be ready today but will be first thing tomorrow morning. I was not happy with that but what could I do, so I said fine. Wed the 16th came and I got a call at 8:30 that my car was ready. I said I would be there after work about 4:30. I got to the dealership, paid the bill and then realized I was charged for diagnostics on the seat that shouldn't have been there. It was about $140 for something they probably took 5 minutes with a computer to figure out. I pointed this out to the SA and he had to go back to the technicians to figure out what happened. He came back and said I was charged by mistake and wouldn't be charged for it when I got the seat done. So I picked up my car and left with a foul taste in my mouth. My questions are this. What was my car doing for 3 days when it just needed an inspection and fluid changes. I should have had the car back on Monday once we knew it would take 3-4 weeks for the seat. Forgetting the state inspection was a big deal to me and also not reviewing the paperwork of charges before giving to the cashier should have been something they should have done. I'm also wondering why it's been a week and they still have not sent the paperwork over to the warranty company to justify the charges. All I got from the SA was he was going to continue to "work" with them to try and get them to lower the price. I was told when I bought the EZ Care warranty that BMW had a great relationship with them so this should be a no brainer. I'm getting the feeling that someone is trying to get more money out of me.

Excellent experience working with Melissa. She went the extra mile to make the car purchase process very smooth. The red-bow reveal at the end of the process that she arranged was unexpected and exciting.
This is my first BMW purchase. The car I purchased speaks for itself of course. But the BMW experience really shined with Melissa's attention to detail. Different level of service at BMW of Sterling. Highly recommend.

What I thought and was being told that I was buying a Certified Pre-owed vehicle. Later to find out just a week ago by a professional body mechanic that body work was done at multiple areas of the vehicle. Reached out to another BMW dealership close to where I live just to find out what the specifications of a certified pre-owned was and they told me that the car should have never sold as a certified pre-owed vehicle and to reach the dealership where I purchased the car. Emailed the general manager over a week ago hoping I could get some sort of answer or try to get something resolved never heard back from him since. Feel like I ve been taken advantage of. Going to reach out to BMW corporate. Hoping they can do something about it. Avoid this place!!

Very pleasant experience. My sales advisor Gabriel McCloud was wonderful, very knowledgeable and patient with me as he was helping me find the car I wanted, he is always there when you need him. I've had my car for a couple of months now and I'm very happy with my CPO 3 Series.

In regards to the service department, I must say I could not be happier with my service advisor Steve Dukes. He is the best service advisor I've worked with in months.
He is always very kind and willing to help whenever you need him.

He always make sure my husband and I get the best possible service, we will keep bringing our BMW M5 and our 328i for service here.

My last dealer, Leesburg Toyota, was a disaster compared to this! Thank you for making the service dept. as good as the sales dept.

BMW of Sterling has my business for life. My wife and I were looking for a vehicle with certain option packages. We inquired about a unit on their lot and Danny Saboor contacted us immediately. He worked with us to find exactly what we were looking for and coordinated the entire purchase prior to us visiting the store. The vehicle was prepped, staged, and the paperwork was prepared prior to our arrival. He is a consummate professional. Previously my friends that owned BMW's always suggested that they didn't like the service department at Sterling. I normally heard them out, assuming they were just complaining because the overall cost was high because it is a BMW.

But, now that I own a BMW and mine has the free maintenance, I still feel this place is just the worst. Lack of professionalism, response time is slowwwww and they are always diagnosing one wrong problem after another and not fixing the problems with the car. I've had my car there for about 3 weeks total over a 5 week period and still no fix in sight for the issue with my car.

It's all about "where the rubber hits the road," and when buying a car, that "rubber" would be the salesman with whom you first interface and work. Neils was our first contact with the BMW brand; we had not seriously been considering them. Neils could not have been more helpful in showing us what a BMW could do - and was instrumental in making our decision to buy a BMW! He spent a lot of time over a week or two with us - both together and with me while my husband was at work. He took the time, and had the patience, to allow us to investigate every feature we wanted to know about - and if he didn't have the answer, he knew where to find it! I even returned a couple of times just to make sure this major purchase was going to be the "right fit" for us - and it is! We never felt like we were a bother during his day.
STORY: We happened to be on a "test drive" with Neils when a former customer called in a panic - and Neils politely told us what was going on, and his professionalism in helping the other customer on the phone was exemplary! He calmed the customer while handling the problem - all while sitting in the backseat during our test drive!

I've never written a review before but i feel compelled to help my fellow car buyer.

I've bought 2 cars at this dealer prior and both were mediocre buying experiences. I keep going back because of it's proximity to my house and office.

This is in my top 5 of unprofessional, inept and dishonest customer service experiences in my life.

From salesman who didn't know their products, to telling me to go outside and look for options in the parking lot when i asked how different wood finishings looked to a complete and total lack of communication on delivery of an ordered car it was a nightmare.

The kicker was changing my date of delivery 5 times until i finally cancelled the order 7 weeks in. From 2-3 weeks delivery, which changed to 6-7 weeks not 10 minutes after i handed over the check (This is not an exaggeration i'm being literal) it carried on until the 7 weeks in it was promised (although not guaranteed) to be 8 weeks from then.

Unlike Sterling BMW i keep my promise and had agreed to sell my car and so i was forced to pull my order.

I dealt with Fairfax BMW also and they consistently delivered on their promises and even though i didn't end up ordering an X5 from them (As i said i couldn't wait on delivery after i wasted 2 months with Sterling BMW) I would recommend Veenu and that location.

If you're ordering a car there particularly a 2014 X5 get a guarantee on your allocation date prior to putting money down.

I am sorry to say that I was very underwhelmed at the services to my vehicle at BMW of Sterling. I do not normally write these reviews, but I will enjoy this one. First off, the price of the services rendered was nothing short of excessive, I am aware that a BMW comes with inflated cost of most everything but this was a stretch. A synthetic oil change, spark plugs, and brake fluid flushing for over $800 and that was discounted. $500+ of that being the labor. My mistake was leaving without checking thoroughly after the services which I will not do again. I expected more from a reputable BMW dealership in Northern VA. The "luxury" services that normally come from BMW were not represented. All of my other fluids were completely neglected and the car detailing was lackluster at best. A few vacuum marks on each side and a rinse is not what I expected from the amount of monies owed. Tried to even further clean my windshield driving home and my washer fluid was still out. These things are small yes, but after it took more than 3 hours on appointment, and the price I honestly hated paying period even if they did their best, leaves me very frustrated. The only reason this review is a 2 star is because Beaver was my advisor for the day and he was very professional and polite, and Bill the shuttle driver was a delight during our time together driving around during the services. When trying to get ahold of management to express a complaint for the lack of detail for the price in search of any explanation, apology, or compensation, never could be reached for the rest of the day. Left messages to be contacted and never was. They never followed up in anyway, which even if the services went well, you would think the sales or management team would do that to ensure repeat business? Overall Beaver and Bill are great employees, but I will not be driving over an hour to waste a large amount of money again.

Let me start by saying that I live in Florida and I had shopped around quite a bit when I decided to purchase my first BMW from BMW Sterling. My sister had purchased several BMWs from Kamal, and recommended that I contact him to see if he could help. Kamal located the car of my dreams for me just as it was coming off the truck from Germany into the US. He and I completed the entire transaction via phone calls and through the mail, and he was able to beat every other dealerships' offer hands down. Start to finish, I was highly impressed as the process was seamless. Kamal is honest and will genuinely do his best to make sure that you the client are pleased with your purchase. I cannot speak highly enough of him. He is truly an asset to BMW--if you are thinking of purchasing a vehicle from BMW Sterling, he is the person you need to see. My family, friends, and I, no matter where we live, will only go to him for our BMW needs.

I can not express enough my gratitude for the excellent customer service I received at the service center at BMW of Sterling!

Eric Brown was the wonderful service advisor who walked me through how long it would take and talked with the service technician with my concerns for my M-Sport X7.

Aaron was the knowledgeable service technician who worked on my car fixing the programming that needed to be updated. He also fixed all the squeaking window and rattling moonroof that found a way into my new vehicle. Amazing work!

They were quick to find the best option and still find a way for me to have use of my vehicle while waiting for necessary parts.
I will go back to BMW anytime I need service on my vehicle as they can be trusted to do quality work!

Matt Tillman is hands down the best sales I have ever worked with. Not only was Matt knowledgeable on all the BMW models but he was also patient and easygoing throughout the entire process. The best part of the entire experience was that since the 2019 X5 purchase was a surprise gift for my mom, after finding me the perfect spec, Matt took it all a step further and went above and beyond in helping me finalize the purchase (paperwork and all) beforehand as well as organized a spectacular delivery that took my mom by complete surprise. All in all, my experience with Matt was both professional and very fun; I will 100% be reaching out to Matt for any and all of my future BMW purchases/needs and whole heatedly recommend that you do as well!

I give this place 5 stars because it deserves it. I went there looking for parts and service advice and met a guy in the service department named david... as a "do it yourselfer" I had trouble with my clutch. He pointed me I the right direction, recommended utilizing their state of the art facility and mechanics... I declined. Even tho I wasn't getting my vehicle serviced at this dealership, he still took the time and effort to help me get the right parts and even come to my house to see what went wrong and what parts I should order from their dealership. I offered to pay him for his advice and guidance, and he declined. This is far above and beyond what I ever expected from ANY dealership. Furthermore Jon in the parts department helped me figure out everything I needed and was monumentally patient and helpful. This is, in my opinion, the very best dealership I've ever been to and cannot wait to buy my next bmw from them. I WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE. truly wonderful service, truly wonderful management is what makes this dealership the best I've ever been to!!! I'm eternally grateful for their dedication to the brand and they need to be recognized for this

Very poor experience 'test driving' a used M3 this past weekend. I called ahead of time to schedule a test drive. Once we got there, the salesman (Sal) told us that we could not drive the car as it was not mechanically ready. You would think a car dealership would know that a customer intends to drive a car when they ask to schedule a test drive. Really would've appreciated a heads up. I drove 40 minutes out to the dealership for no reason, the car was in terrible shape as well.

I hope that in the future when a customer asks to set up a test drive, the salesman will actually check to make sure it can be driven.

This review is almost 30 days over due. With the holidays, my family and I have been out of the loop, YAY. We did not forget at all that we wanted to go online and thank several people at Sterling BMW for their patience and time. From that Saturday morning when I drove my car in as a walk in, til the day I finally got my car back. Shawn, Eric and Michael Torres have been nothing short of the best guys I could have been dealing with at Sterling BMW. I had to have my car serviced on several different occasions and these guys made sure I did not leave without a loaner and they definitely made sure I was satisfied with my vehicle. I especially appreciated the patience they had with me and vehicle. Last but not least is Mr. Bryan I must have called this man 50 times and he was nothing but nice, respectfully and patient each time we talked. I would like to also thank Mr. Max in sales, he was there for me when I was not able to reach anyone in service, it was the night of BMW Christmas party and I was trying to get the loaner vehicle back to them and Mr. Max assured me that everything would be alright if I held onto the vehicle. I appreciated BMW of Sterling VA

Potential Buyers & fellow BMW owners beware.
I dont normally rely on social media as a means to get customer service but I guess I am done being patient!
As a person who chose to purchase my luxury dream car with lot of expectations at this location, that enrages me.
I only chose this place because of my cousin's reference.
Could I have read few reviews and done my research,this is place will be not in my list.
Firstly, Here's my story/complaints which can also be a Shocking example of bad customer service:
Issue 1: Brand new Car was found with crack on windshield, after many discussions sales team replaced with new one for no cost.
Issue 2: Very unprofessional way in replacing windshield caused damage on the dash board as shown pics uploaded. (Outstanding issue)
Issue 3: No detailing done, car used by service team and delivered with strains and oil spills as shown in pics uploaded (Costed 300$ for detailing)
Issue 4: No respect for customers time, long waiting to get hold of service team and managers.
Pros: Found exact color and style of my dream car.
Bottom line:
This place is so lame, don t know why it has four stars, terrible service and my unresolved father issues mean I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK.
If I could leave negative 2 stars I would.

Buying a car at Sterling BMW was the best buying experience that I have had. My salesman Aiman Wahba was a excellent salesman. I enjoyed the buying my 2020 330i so much that I came back 10 months later to Aiman and he helped me build my 2021 540i. Aiman is a fine salesman and a great person. He made sure during the process that my family was taking care of and answered any questions that I had. I would stongly recommend Aiman Wahba at Sterling BMW.

Tried to buy a car from Angela. She was great in the beginning, very responsive on getting us a good price. Once we put a $5k deposit (which is absurdly high) down she became unresponsive. Would not respond to multiple texts and emails and voicemails. Literally had to wait 2 days to get a text response. Found out later that the car we put a deposit on was sold to some one else and she didn t even have the courtesy of calling to tell us herself, but instead had some one else call to tell us. We will be disputing the charge on our credit card as I m sure it ll take months to get a check sent from this pathetic excuse for a car dealership.

I just wanted to leave a review for a positive experience with this BMW dealership - specifically dealing with their service dept. Mike Torres has been my service advisor for my 2 interactions with BMW of sterling and he has been awesome. Communicates very well to keep me updated. There has been a mishap that has come up from a previous visit and he took care of that as well. Amazing customer service and they took care of my car. I picked this dealership after a very poor experience at BMW of rockville. I drive over an hour just to come here if that tells you anything. If you ever need to have any service or warranty work done for your BMW, BMW of sterling is the place to go, ask for Mike!

Beware Artificial Intelligence in control of pricing!!! I found a 2014 BMW 435i on their website for $48,995. After some discussion, I agreed to purchase the vehicle for the listed price of $48,995. As they were generating the 'Out the Door' pricing they discovered that their 'computer' had made a mistake and that the correct price was $57,995. I think that this is very dishonest and totally unacceptable for any dealer (especially a BMW dealer). Since I live out of state- I'm lucky that I did not purchase my plane ticket.

My service advisor, Sean Spicher, has been wonderful. He is helpful, friendly, kind and knowledgeable. My brand new BMW was water damaged and Sean did everything in his power to make me feel better and let me know that BMW was taking care of me and the car. I feel lucky that he was assigned to me.

Eric was awesome!! He took care of everything I needed quickly and ensured I could use my warranty package to cover certain costs (not the case with some of the others there). Outstanding customer service, so if you're not happy with who you deal with there, ask for Eric.

This was my first experience with BMW as a brand, and this particular dealer overall.

My late model X5 was showing some electrical problems so I bought it in to have it looked at on Saturday 01/10/2015 around Noon. The kid with the bowtie at the drop-off was nice but that's where it ended.

The 'Service Manager' was dismissive and not personable at all. Maybe a 5/10. No contact at all on Saturday. They are closed on Sunday. He leaves me a message Monday saying I need a new alternator for around $1300.00 total. Then we play phone tag for a couple of hours after which I give him constructive feedback on his apparent lack of customer service.

I picked the car up on Tuesday and it isn't even washed! After $1300 worth of business?? Furthermore, when I first dropped off the car the key pull showed that the date/time had been reset; it still was that way and I had to fix that myself. Maybe that was the SM's way of "getting back" at me in a passive agressive way.

No one contacted me afterwards to survey how everything went hence the reason for this post.

I recently purchased a BMW at BMW of Sterling, and paid more than $10k with a check. The finance manager was rude, and took personal calls where he was shouting on the phone while I waited for him to finish. One week later, I got a letter in the mail from the dealership containing an IRS form 8300, reporting a cash transaction of greater than $10k. This is required, I understand. However, the finance manager had checked the box stating it was a suspicious transaction to the IRS. I was furious. This is not required by law, and is only to be used in cases where there are suspicious cash transactions--usually LESS than $10k--that they want to report. I immediately called the dealership, and asked to speak with the GM. They told me he was in a meeting, and asked what I wanted. I explained the situation to them. The sales manager called me back and was completely ignorant about how to use the form. He lied to me stating that it is the law to do this. It is not. He then lied to me saying it was the dealership's policy. It is not. I know two friends who purchased from the same dealership, paying more than $10k cash. Neither of them received this form with the "suspicious transaction" box checked. The dealership refused to do anything about it. He was rude, condescending, and abrasive with me on the phone. This dealership is unprofessional, has terrible customer service, and I will never purchase from them again. I warn everyone I know to stay away from them.

This place has changed for the better. I started coming here about 4 years ago and I had some pretty bad experiences with the service department. From being forgotten until close, to the serviceman leaving for the day and not passing me to the next person. I of course vented my frustrations. However, this last year has been nothing but great experiences. Thank you for stepping up your game.

My experience at the BMW of Sterling Service Center was wonderful. My service advisor Michael Torres did a phenomenal job at explaining everything my car needed. He got it all serviced and taken care of for me under my warranty. He kept me informed of the process, sent me videos of my vehicle to keep me updated, provided me with a loaner car so I didn t have to wait all day, and sent me a link to pay ahead of my arrival. I came here because of the reviews and a previous bad experience in another BMW service center. I would highly recommend Michael Torres and BMW of Sterling to service your vehicle.

I would advise any BMW owner to stay far away from this dealership. Eric Brown, a staff member in the service department, attempted to charge me $700 to transfer the warranty on my BMW from the previous owner's name to mine. After declining the offer I walked out of the dealership and called BMW of North America about the transfer, which they completed at no charge. I sent an email to the Service Department Manager at BMW of Sterling, Jessica Eller, about Eric's attempt to charge me $700 to transfer the warranty and did not receive any sort of response, follow-up or acknowledgement of the issue. Not only does that indicate this dealership has extremely poor customer service practices, it also indicates management either turns a blind eye or tacitly endorses overcharging customers for services offered for free by BMW corporate. There are a number of better, by any measure, BMW dealerships in the area. Do yourself a favor and check those out and avoid this one.

One more thing to note - the positive, 5 star reviews of this dealership have all the hallmarks of being produced by a third-party vendor rather than legitimate consumers. Take that into account when evaluating whether to visit this dealership or not. Any firm that needs to pay for positive reviews is one that does not deserve your business.

I'm reviewing the wholesale parts department, I have been using the parts department latley. They are able to locate the parts promptly. I usually ask them to put the parts on will call and upon arrival the parts are ready to pick up. A better experience than Fairfax Bmw.

Worked with Jose who was absolutely great. The car I purchased was flawless from him. I have no complaints about Jose or the sales team, my 2 star review ties into the dishonesty of the financing department who unfortunately worked hand in hand with the dealer. The young lady who helped me with the financing pushed GAP (even though I explicitly said I DID NOT want it) and basically forced it to finish the deal. The car was worth way more and made no sense for it however painted the picture that lender would require it (which is a lie). Fortunately I was able to cancel it within 30 days and get all the money back but he principal of lying to a customer and forcing something they do not want is not good business practices.

It's my 1st visit. Overall service experience was good. Upon request, Technician drove along to answer my questions.i am pleased with that. However I see some minor surprises like car not being vacumed properly after service. No assistance after driving inside the service area. You have find yourself for someone to assist you.

This has to be one of the worst BMW certified service shops in all of the DC area. They do not know a whole lot about these expensive, premium vehicles. Service is about on par w/ a Merchants Tire, but the prices are more than double.

Not only am I happy with my vehicle purchase, I'm also happy in choosing this particular dealership. I've been to 2 other BMW dealerships, and BMW of Sterling is the one. I love the place. Every experience i've had w/them has been great. Service is awsemoe, they alway go above and beyond and hook me up w/something. Showroom is very nice, large, lots of cars and latest models to check out. I bought two new cars from them over the years and while it took some persuasion, got a killer deal every time. I am definitely hooked and am thinking about a bimmer for the next car partially due to how good experience I have had there, particularly with service. Even tires they are very competitive on, so I started to buy them from them since the started matching TireRack prices.
