The hospital is a little dated compared to others I have visited but the staff and the care are second-to-none! I had an excision of Morton's Neuroma by Dr RaviKumar and had excellent care from start to finish.

Awful service at hospital. Doctors dont listen properly to patients , not advising anything just writing down health history from the page and recording conversations. The worst of the worst is that treatment are not planned the problems you are trying to explain leads to other scans and unneeded tests - such a waste of time. Been waiting to solve health issues 4 months now and again coming back to discuss another appoitment of scans that was already done. I believe so if the hospital receives the information about past scans should not do second ones . What confuses the most that when Maidstone Hospital done a scan explaining health problems Somerfield ignores it and sends you for a different scan . Like I have a broken arm but NO lets do a leg Xray ...shame..

I had my gallbladder out on Thursday by Dr Haythem Ali. Checked in a 7:30am and by 8:30am had seen Dr Ali, the anaethetist and 2 nurses. I was third in and went to theatre at 10:40am. Surgery went well and I was looked after fantastically for the rest of the day. Could not fault the care atall or the surgery, despite being very nervous I felt so at ease. A special thank you to a lovely nurse who gave me a cuddle and walked me to theatre and stayed with me until I was asleep. Would go here again in a heartbeat. Thank you all.

Such a time waste! Sat at the waiting room for more that 20 mins after checked in at the reception and only to find out the hospital couldn't find my profile on their system - I thought the whole point of checking in at the reception is to make sure the patient profile is on the system. I had to walk up to the reception three times before they acknowledged that my profile was not on their system. I expect more proactive and efficient service from private hospitals.

First visit, MRI suite detached from main building...

First visit, MRI suite detached from main building, wife referred by NHS, very relaxed, staff pleasant and considerate.
Coffee on arrival, in a quiet waiting room, and time to relax with a coffee before leaving.
Free parking, easy in, no dramas, no stress... with this experience, I'd definitely consider some procedures privately, to speed up the log jams on the NHS. If not referred by NHS, costs are a major factor, but things like CT, MRI, x-rays and the like are reasonable.

My husband went in for a total knee replacement operation. We could not fault the experience from seeing the consultant, going for pre-op and then the operation. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and really cared about him. The food was lovely and with free drinks 24/7 for visitors, and free parking we could not fault it.

I have had three operations so far at the somerfield and each time the staff have be great, friendly, helpful, caring my operations Were a great success my last two being total knee replacements my consultant was mr Rohit Jain and his skills as a doctor were brilliant, the food was lovely and the nurses were all really good, and the follow up's went smoothly with all appointments for outpatients made and kept to, I cannot praise them enough for all the care and thoughtfulness that all staff showed towards myself and my family, so if you want to be treated with respect and dignity I can highly recommend the Somerfield Maidstone.

was placed at this hospital as i was waiting longer than i should of done through nhs... bad experiance totally.. after my op i came back to my room were my family were waiting. my cathertar had come apart (a plate) size amount on my sheet leaked and when i said this that my leg was wet she said "only a small amount" there fore instead of changing my bed sheet she coverd it with an inko pad. due to the op i had i was feeling low ... when everyone left i was hopping to chat to the staff ward clinical team. when one cam in to do my obs she asked how i was feeling.. i said "im feeling low" she then replied oh im sure ur feel better soon. i couldnot belive shedidnt want to make connversation... during the night shift the same nurse came in at 11.45 to do my obs... she askedif i was ok.. i said no im in pain.. she came in with my paracetamol... that was last time i saw her since 7.30am the following morning. she then came in and did my obs. all my sats wer low.. i had bleed through the night and no one came into me... the aftercare was disgusting.. this night nurse asked me how was i i said in pain.. i desided to leave that day instead of another day.. i picked up the check list for obs and noticed that she had placed obs through out the night on the sheet wen she had not seen me... i know this as i was awake all night with pain.. i would never pay for private care if its like this.... nhs all the way.... nhs treat you better than this...

Experienced both sides of care through Nhs and Private. Sad to say the care you receive Privately is by far ten times better. Money counts I m afraid... As does follow up contact from the hospital. If you re private you hear from the hospital a lot quicker. Where as Nhs they didn t even book me a follow up. I m still not fixed and suffering because of it...
