Food, service, and atmosphere are all great! Bluegill is my go-to Restauraunt for seafood in and around Mobile. I highly recommend trying the gumbo and flaming oysters.

The waitress Gabbi was super nice and awesome, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious

Two words. Flaming oysters! This place is excellent. Never pretentious. Always delicious. And, properly priced. It's fresh seafood, so you're going to pay up. Renee took great care of us, but it was a team effort. Even the hostess brought out some food! We love it!!!

Great atmosphere, live bands, home town feel, food is great too

I love the food and atmosphere here. They usually have a live band playing outside. Their back deck is absolutely huge. There is a spectacular view of the Mobile skyline from the dock. And the food is really delicious.

Great outdoor atmosphere and friendly staff! Enjoyed corn & crab chowder and the Blue Gill Plate with fried redfish and grilled oysters. Definitely will return.

I wanted a light meal. I ordered grilled crab claws and a salad. It was amazing! Great music friendly professional staff.

We had a rehearsal dinner here and they were so accommodating! The wait staff was extremely friendly and the food was phenomenal! Overlooking the water made for a very enchanting evening! We will definitely be back on our next trip down!

Outside last night on porch by bay watched sunset with melody and Jose . food was good music and ice cold beer. Crab cakes, seafood platter, char flamed oysters, and a cup of gumbo was very well worth every penny.

Love this place! Food is great ALL the time! Voodoo Shrimp is a great appetizer with extra slaw! Great atmosphere on the patio with great views!

Poor service and horrible food. The steam shrimps was dry and tasted like they just took some chilled peel and eat shrimp than microwave it. Oyster are good large and meaty but the horseradish was watery and tasted like it was diluted with vinegar. Totally not worth the money. Gumbo was OK.

Chicken was served cold, but other than that everything was very good. Prompt service very knowledgeable about menu,sides and specials.

Great food although a bit pricy for the size. Furthermore, The waiter said "my pleasure" 9 times - I counted.

A rustic seafood restaurant with friendly service and some pretty good food. You can come in the front or boat up to the back. You can choose indoor seating or try the large, screened in patio with live music. From burgers and sandwiches to oysters, shrimp, and fish, they've got a good choice of delicious food.

One of our favorite places to take family when they visit. Food, service, and atmosphere are always great!

I have so much fun when I'm here and the music never disappoints. Josh Ewing and Matt Neese are my favorite. The food is great and the selection of drinks is impressive. The prices are the most reasonable on the causeway. We had a work function and it was on the patio. It was about 35 outside and I was worried we'd freeze but they enclose the patio and had plenty of heaters. It was quite comfortable.

A gem! We were traveling through Mobile and started the night and happened to find this amazing restaurant. It has so much character and if you choose to eat outside you are right on the bay. Everyone there makes sure you are well taken care of and the food is amazing. We started off with the crab stuffed jalapenos and they were totally awesome. We also had the Crab Sandwich and the flaming broiled oysters, all of which I highly recommend! The atmosphere is very relaxed and on the weekend they have a live band, playing music all ages will love. The decor is so unique and you must visit the restrooms. We will definitely go here again when in the area. As a matter of fact we will drive out of our way to visit Bluegill again. Amazing food, service and atmosphere.

Service was great! Ronna was excellent. Atmosphere was nice, the back patio is awesome on a nice day.

That said, food was nothing special. Fish was overcooked. At least it wasn't too expensive.

A few of my graduation classmates of1965 get together at Bluegill to eat drink and have a good time The people are nice and friendly and service is great no pressure

It was great! Oysters were fresh and sitting outside today was just right. I would highly recommend it!

I love this place. The atmosphere is peaceful when you go at certain times. When a band or someone is playing the atmosphere changes. It is a good change and you see people truly enjoying each other. A little pricey but good food is what you receive every time. Suggestion if your favorite person or band is playing get there early because it pack very quickly.

Come here every time I'm in town. Terrific food, great drinks, good live music in the evenings, and a fabulous rustic atmosphere. Employees are great and even the manager will always check on you. Would definitely recommend!!

Been several times over and it's always a great atmosphere and service is gold standard. If you haven't visited...its a must in my opinion

Food was alright, very heavy handed with the political memorabilia, which is very unprofessional in my opinion. I won't be dining here again.

Living on the gulf for my entire life, I know Seafood. Bluegill cooks and seasons it perfectly. This is my date night restaurant. I have never had a bad experience. Great staff, Great Food!! If you are wondering if you should try this place or somewhere else.

I have been here multiple times. The service and food are always amazing!! Plus sitting outside and watching the sun set is breath taking.

Truly great atmosphere for family s and singles alike. We loved sitting on the deck with the live music. The food maybe didn t live up to the hype, but it was good enough, and we had GREAT service! I would definitely go again!

Great service, energetic staff always moving and getting things taken care of. The food was delicious!

Extremely use to having a wait for seafood restaurants on the causeway. Once seated server came in an adequate amount of time to take our order.

Food however did not arrive to table until 45 minutes after we ordered. Our table ordered soup and salad and we had to request for those to be brought out. They did have live music and the musician did a great job.

Atmosphere was nice and food quality was exceptional. Gumbo was ordered and very much enjoyed. The favorite item received was the turnip greens, the flavor was exactly what I was looking for in this vegetable.

Food and service is great, prices are very reasonable and the music is fabulous.

Excellence across the board - really!!! This was our first time here, as we recently moved to the Mobile Area - Bluegill is a super place! This is one of three restaurants in the Cooper Restaurants Group - we ve been to 2 of the 3 now. The one thing they seem to all have in common, is a superb staff - they really treat you right here - fantastic hospitality! The next thing is the atmosphere - we ve been to Felix s and the Bluegill now - and they are scenic, fun locations to just hangout at - the next thing we really loved about the Bluegill though - was the music! The Bluegill has live music everyday - so a huge shout out to the Cooper Company for that and a big thanks to the local musicians from the Mobile area! And now of course - last, but not least - the food!!! We really enjoyed our food and drinks here! They did a great job! Thanks Bluegill - and we will be back!!!

Such a great restaurant. They have a great atmosphere, the food is delicious, and the live music is really great! Great night out with family or friends. We travel full time right now and this is really an awesome restaurant, we'll be sure to stop in each time we're in L.A. (Lower Alabama). This last time will be our third visit!

I had the grilled fish and grilled shrimp it was excellent. The sides we're good too but I could eat the grilled fish and shrimp everyday. The staff was very nice and the waitress remembered my name after I was sat by the hostess.

Best meal out we have had in a while and we ve been to some really top notch restaurants. We ve travelled from Natchez to Baton Rouge and even had a foodie tour along the way. Bluegill was recommended by a gentleman we met travelling. The Flaming Oysters are NOT to be missed. I ve had many oysters baked...Rockefeller, Bienville but these have a unique chargrilled flavor that will bring us back from Atanta for more! Hubs had the Bluegill platter - shrimp, oysters and fresh catch. Get it as you wish, grilled, fried or blackened. I had the Bakers Dozen, 6 fried oysters (perfect flavor, light cornmeal batter) with 6 grilled shrimp. Skip the onion rings but don t skip the Key Lime Pie. The service was awesome - ask for Lindsey - but the entire staff anticipates what you need before you can even ask!

Great place for a large family! Seafood was great, and the atmosphere was cool, good music and view!

Tip tops were performing but was way too crowded was standing room only.

Oysters are really good! We sat outside in the enclosed bar area, good feel overlooking water but could use some plywood on the ceiling. The insulation is exposed which where I'm from would be a code violation. Other then that, service was great and food was really good.

Great place to enjoy live music right on the waterways. Whether you enjoy inside dining or outside dining, it truly is a great restaurant with great food as well!

Great food and atmosphere! They have a really nice outdoor seating area too.

Great food, usually a good band. Great family atmosphere, even a sand box for the kids. Parking is easy traffic flows well in and out.

The staff is usually to busy and spread to thin because this is a busy resturant.

This place was amazing had awesome alligator bites and blackened Redfish sweet potato casserole is delicious and I love their Margaritas they use simple syrup and not sweet and sour

Inadequate heat, inexperienced servers, long wait for food, food not all that great.

Stopped in for a relaxing drink and enjoy the live entertainment. Enjoyed it all. Made some new friends along the way. Bartenders are special! Will return soon and you should too!

Awesome place to eat. Seems a bit cheaper than most everywhere else on the causeway. Flaming oysters are excellent and their fried plate of gator is awesome.
