This is a great spot that I am glad we visited. The beer selection is rather good compared to most places in the area and had a few heavy hitters along with some solid regulars and European selection.

We came for Sunday dinner with the whole family and there was a section that was somewhat set aside for my family to feel comfortable with our kids and not bothering other patrons which was good.

The food was good and the staff was very accommodating and I would definitely recommend this place and plan on coming back in the future. I have been told it can be very busy on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. So plan accordingly.

Blue Monkey Tavern is a great place for dates, happy hour, a great meal and has a friendly staff. If you've been there a few times there is a manager who knows beer like the back of his hand, hes great in knowledge but not very customer oriented. Hes particularly strict but that's what most likely makes him a great manager. Place is always presentable and has a ton of great selections of Beer, Whiskey, Scotch and Wine.

I'm so happy the blue monkey is back open during the pandemic! The outdoor seating right now is wonderful, but the food and drinks are always to die for. I cannot stress enough how great the mussels are here. The mixed drinks are incredible and all of the bartenders and servers are awesome.

Pub food is good, but I'm a vegan so it's not the best for me. Big deal. Really, you should come here for the excellent beer selection. And by excellent I mean truly, truly excellent. They have great events, with interesting bruised and their basic selection is always anything but basic! Bottle list is also fantastically varied and interesting.

First time there. My burger was excellent (good meat and juicy) served with thin fries and some cole slaw. Big group. Service was good. I reserve 5 stars till I have frequented place a few times so only reason I gave 4 stars.

I've been here four times over the past two or three years and have always felt lukewarm to the restaurant because I felt the prices for food were slightly too high, while the beer prices felt slightly higher than average as well. Not egregiously so, but enough to put it lower on my list of places I want to visit than others in the area. My most recent visit has me considering never coming here again though.

My girlfriend and I were celebrating my birthday and knew we would be drinking a lot so we were using Uber and Lyft to get around. We arrived and ordered dinner, which was pretty great by the way, I enjoyed the duck sandwich, and some beers. The beer I ordered was on the higher ABV side, 15%+, but they are small portions - rightfully so.

Since we were using a cab service we immediately went to the high ABV beers and planned to work our way through the good list. Between sitting and eating the duck sandwich I had two 6 oz pours of the high ABV beer before the waitress essentially told me that she couldn't serve me anymore.

Now first things first, I get having to make sure you're not overserving, but this was two small portions of a high ABV beer in about an hour, with us having dinner in between. We weren't being loud, except when Stefon Diggs made the miracle catch (everyone at the bar was astonished as well), and neither one of us were feeling buzzed in any way.

I told the waitress that I could show her our Lyft receipt on the phone, but we were told we couldn't be served anymore. Well, no problem, we finished our dinner and drinks and took a Lyft elsewhere. We would have easily have spent $100 there, but instead walked out spending ~$55 or so and won't likely be coming back.

Again, I get that they have to worry about overserving, but we hadn't even begun to get to a point of being overserved, we ate dinner, and had proof of using a cab service.

I think it's the best food in Merchantville. Great atmosphere. Really nice inside. The lights are always dim and calming, and they keep it nice and cool in the summer, and cozy and warm in the winter. Landscaping outside always looks fantastic spring thru fall. Lots and lots of beer brands.

Came here for beer right after Tap Takeover. Must've had eight different Firestone Walker beers. The burger I ordered was so heavy I almost Titanic'd on the drive home. If you like quality beer and food and don't mind paying a little extra, then this is your shiznit.

Probably the best local gastropub on this side of the Delaware river. Draft selection is always changing and great, and their menu has some pretty tasty food on it. My recommendations for food are the Chicken Prosciutto Sandwich, Pork Belly Sandwich, or the Beet & Arugula salad. Friendly staff too. You always feel comfortable and welcome.

Don't know much about it. I don't know how old you have to be to go in or anything. All I know is the people who go there are rude. I was in the car looking out my window (with it down) and when I passed by here, some lady who was smoking threw her cigarette at my face. It luckily missed.

Consistently best craft beer tap list in South Jersey. With 38 taps, you are virtually guaranteed to find a brewer/beer style that you'll enjoy. Also have a compelling craft bottle selection. Very spacious with plenty of seats both at the bar and at tables/booths. Fairly quiet atmosphere - definitely a place where you can enjoy a conversation, and don't have to scream to be heard.

Food is definitely above average for pub food (burgers/paninis) - and the occasional special is truly excellent, even without the "pub" disclaimer (e.g., short rib sandwich, pork belly sandwich).

Service has always been solid in my experience. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great beer and good food.

I liked the menu and couldn't wait tp try the roast beef, goat cheese and arugula salad. The issue was the salad was served with no roast beef and I couldnt find one caramelized walnut. If that wasnt enough the gentleman that asked how our food was couldnt stop coughing right over our food. I was on my lunch break so I just ate what was given and got back to work...

Here now. Wasn't greeted. Wasn't given silverware. Asked for water n ranch didn't get either. We said we were putting in appetizers n still deciding on dinner. No one came over to see what else we wanted! Or even if everything was Okay. Took our plates when we were done n didn't say a word.
We're going somewhere else for dinner since we couldn't get it here .
And the sesame chicken is just bland grilled chicken with water down sauce

Food was good. The place was nice inside. Unfortunately it was extremely hot outside and this was apparently slowing the kitchen down. We waited an hour for our food to be served. The people who were seated just before us we're eating their deserts before we got our salads. I'll try this place again sometime in the Fall when they won't have an excessive heat excuse for slow service.

Highly disappointed. I have been going to Blue Monkey for years. An hr and 15minutes after ordering food, we had not received food. We made a complaint and were given excuses. When we asked for our bill for only our drinks, they then asked if they could box our food. We said no. The owner blew me off when I tried to make a formal complaint.

The owner/bartender is a nasty guy. Extremely unwelcoming and apparently has never heard the phase, Service with a Smile . We were a party of seven and none of us will ever return. Stay away the guy is an Ass.

Saturday evening around 6:00, we were told a 25 minute wait (2)
Went to the bar to wait, as we were standing there staring at the beer menu a gentleman approached us and asked if we would like a table, we were seated immediately.
At that point the service only got Better, the Blue Monkey was definitely a find
The appetizers and our entree s were excellent, thank you to the gentleman who seated us, maybe the owner?
And the service staff who made our first trip to the Blue Monkey a memorable evening.

My favorite hang. Food and service is consistently excellent. Burgers and soups are the best around. If the red lentil soup or any lamb dish is offered... order it! Beer selection is outstanding as is their offering for whiskey and wine. Overall, it's one of the best bar/restaurants in the entire region. I've always been more than satisfied, happy and look forward to my return.

Blue Monkey is up the street from my house, which could be dangerous. They consistently have a stellar beer list and the food is great. I'm particularly fond of their burgers (which you can get tater tots with, awesome) and this arugula/goat cheese/beet salad they have. It's SO good. They also have specials that always hit the spot.

I do wish that they did a legit brunch on the weekend, but it seems they typically only have one or two "brunchy" items.

Note: they are now closed on Mondays.

I was pleasantly surprised! I thought it was a little dive bar BUT not at all. Service was wonderful and the food was very good. They had a very nice cocktail menu. Being a bourbon drinker there's usually not much on cocktail menus but they have a nice variety. My husband and I went out for a little date night and enjoyed ourselves. I will definitely go back.

I live right around the corner from the Blue Monkey Tavern. I never notice it until I was invited for lunch by a friend. To my surprise it was very clean, the waitress was very friendly, and the food was a little pricey but very good. They also have a kids menu. Will definitely come back and visit.
