We were there for a private party. Staff was great and food was good. You can reserve the second floor dining room for an event which is a nice area. Otherwise the main restaurant is on the first floor.

The blue monkey burger is my favorite burger, hands down. They have great wings, mussels, sandwiches, everything I've had! Everything is made in house, with delicious ingredients. They always have a great beer selection!

Love the food and service here! The food and cocktails are surprisingly complex and gourmet here - much higher-level than most gastropubs, but still not too expensive. This will be a go-to for the family!

Stopped in here with some coworkers after a long week. The atmosphere was great and the waitstaff was really nice. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and drinks. Everyone except myself. I had the Tournada Filet with green bean and mashed potatoes. The filet came out overcooked, I wanted rare and it came out well. The mashed potatoes were more like soup than mashed potatoes. The beans and sauce on the meat were awesome. The place was clean as well as the restroom. There was plenty of parking available around the building.

Went there on a Friday night. Service was extremely slow. They took for ever to bring out our food and all we ordered were burgers. Not to mention they took for ever to bring our check and to collect payment. They had 2 hostesses and not enough servers. They need more servers to wait on tables.

We go to blue monkey A LOT. Sometimes multiple times a week. Their food is the highlight to me but they also have approx. 7 million beers on tap. Great to have a bar like this so close to home.

This is one of my favorite places for food. I'm always seated in a comfy booth of my choice when it's not crowded (I try to go early, around 4 p.m., for dinner). Seating and service are always efficient and friendly. The potato-leek soup one night was phenomenal, brought to my table steaming hot in a metal tureen and poured into a shallow bowl by one of the staff -- not my waitress; I don't know who he was! Confusing but classy! The soup was loaded with big chunks of potatoes and lots of leeks. The veggie panini was outstanding. So many chefs these days carelessly burn the toast, but this panini had been toasted to just the right shade of golden brown and was nice and hot. The chef obligingly left out the zucchini as I requested (I can't stand the stuff), and the panini was stuffed to the gills with fresh sauteed baby kale, a huge, sauteed portabella mushroom, roasted red pepper, and sharp provolone cheese. So delicious! I went fancier for another recent dinner and ordered the scallops with sauteed spinach and a ridiculously tasty garlic-cilantro sauce served separately so I could pour it onto the scallops myself. Another classy touch! This scallop dish usually comes with mashed potatoes, but I'm probably the only person on Earth who dislikes mashed potatoes, so the chef substituted, at my request, some nicely seasoned bulgar wheat that I really enjoyed. This is a fine restaurant in a tavern setting. A fun atmosphere and the food I've tried has been extraordinarily delicious.

This would have been a 5 star review if it was not for the needed social skills of the bartender/owner. My friends arrived before me (females-neighbors mentioned that women feel uncomfortable) and were ignored while they waited at the bar and said owner continued chatting with people at the end of the bar. A simple hello wave of the hand and "be there in a moment," would have been mannerly. I asked if they had Double Nickel beer (local brew) he said, "we don't like them." I don't think vendor disagreements should be exposed to patrons. We left a tip for him but should not have. FYI - you don't tip owners. Tips are for restaurant below minimum wage employees. He should have returned it before we left, unless pooled. All in all, the food was tasty and our server attentive and excellent. Try them. You be the judge. I will not be returning.

Always a great time at Blue Monkey. One of the best beer selections in the area and the food is fantastic. Owner does not like to advertise the great craft beers that are available which always makes for a good surprise when you go as there is still something left in the keg. (craft beer snobs chase the good beers when their advertised). Location is easy to get to and the Old Collins House makes for a great atmosphere. Worth the trip

Cozy bar with a surprisingly extensive menu. The appetizers were delicious. Different than other places. Fried pickles and the stuffed portabella mushroom with sausage were amazing. I had been told that the burger at this establishment was one of the best around. It did not dissapoint. Very juicy and extremely tasty. There was also an extensive draft beer selection, as well as the usual bottled offerings. I would recommend giving this place a try.

The inside was nice. We walked in and stood around for a minute until someone at the bar told us to sit wherever. Maybe a sign at the front that says seat yourself would be helpful.

Great beer tap selection. I had the Blue Monkey Burger. Asked for it medium but it came out well done. Aside from that it tasted very good. I d give this place another shot.
