I checked out the website due to my friend sending me a free box. I filled out all the information needed but never confirmed the order or options they ended up sending something random in which I had allergies too. I called the company addressing it also mentioning how I do not want to be apart of the company. She apologizes but issues a credit to my account instead and tells me I can cancel online instead (the avoidance in the solution) I said I did not want neither. After seeing my account was not cancelled I had to "skip" the following week since they do not have the cancel option on there and it was after business hours.I then received an email about a charge and my next box going out?!
I emailed them since it was a weekend and the response email me just told me how I can cancel online but AGAIN only shows me how to SKIP then says underneath to call in to cancel (complete joke here)! When calling with frustration the supervisor Gerald continued to repeat the same messages telling me there is nothing to do he apologies for the mix up with his teammate and "unfortunately the box is already sent out in the hands of the carrier so no refund would be issued but hopefully you could make use of the box" ... This is not customer service, being stuck with unwanted food I cannot eat and the company stealing my money then saying hopefully you could make use of the box!!

I've been using this service for a long time now and it's by far the best. I've tried all the competitors but always come back to Blue Apron due to the quality of the ingredients and enjoying the recipes much more.
No, this is not a service to save you money. However, before BA I made pretty much the same few meals every day. When I would get lazy and not want to shop, I'd order take out and spend WAY more and be WAY more unhealthy. I would say I've thoroughly enjoyed 95% of the meals I've made (even the weird looking ones I just decided to try out). I read some of the reviews here about having a poor experience with the customer service and I feel that I've had the opposite experience. In the rare case they forget an ingredient, the customer service has always been friendly and comped my meal.
My final note is that this is a service that truly has changed my life. I mentioned earlier that I would get lazy and order take out. Blue Apron is now a part of my routine. I cook significantly more often with my wife and I've noticed that over time, we have become better chefs! Due to the decrease in takeout, I've lost weight as well which is an added benefit :-)
Obviously I'm a big fan of the service and I recommend it to everyone who asks!

We recently received our first order from Blue Apron. The following two meals were sent in one box: Country fried steak with potatoes and green beans. Alaskan Pollock with rice and broccoli. The instructions are detailed nicely, but the meals are rather time consuming to make. My expectations on receiving this type of service was based on convenience. The Country fried steak meal instructions say to flavor items with salt and pepper. The instructions also say to cook certain items using olive oil. Salt, pepper, and olive oil were not with the provided ingredients. I expected everything required to prepare the meal(s) be included. I would also like to address my concern with the shipping. Steak, fish, milk and egg were all sent in a cardboard box, internally lined with a foil insulation. In the bottom of the box lie a ice pack the was partially melted. I was home at the time of delivery (Fed Ex) therefore it did not sit in the outdoor elements long. If the box sat outside for any duration of time on a hot day, I suspect most perishable items would spoil. I like the vision of this service, unfortunately they over looked many important details regarding health and convenience to their customer base.

Still the gold standard for meal delivery. The ingredients are always top notch, and you get so many great options to choose from each week. The app makes panning your deliveries a breeze, and every few weeks I find a recipe I like so much that I end up re-making it several times.

I have not ordered Blue Apron for about 2 years now. I saw a promo and logged onto see what meals they were offering never placing an order. I saw that they billed my debit account for $59.94 even though my account had a new expiration date and security code. Called BA and they rectified the issue but it is concerning that this is able to happen . I told the rep to close my account. Not happy that they were able to charge me. Lucky I check my account daily.

The website is shady and you can't speak to a live person unless its Monday through Friday after 10am. I wanted to see what they offer and you can't do that unless you sign up an account with your credit card. I did this on a Saturday and it automatically sign me up for a weekly meal that I did not choose. I cancelled it online but wanted to make sure my credit card was not charged but it doesn't give you a profile of your account. I can't call to make sure because they don't have live help until Monday at 10am.
