They have almost anything you can think of there, and the employees are very welcoming and sweet
Very large thrift store with clothes, furniture, etc. They have a rewards program (never seen that at this type of business). The woman who was my cashier was very friendly and helpful. I'll go back.
Nice big store. Prices are a little high. Terrible return policy, especially for a church run store.
Beware of a bait and price switching: I had a very disappointing experience today. I took several items to the register some with tags on them and some without. The lady at the register told me she had to ask the manager about the price of two items because she was sure it was not regular price of $4 -$6. (Mind you they are working with DONATIONS!!!)... the manage took the items to the back of the store and after 10min wait he returned with new prices on the items....one piece jumped from $4 to $11 and the other piece jumped up to $6 - $30. His justification for the price change was that the "items were new and their tags must have fallen off." They are ridiculous and I will not be returning because I am afaird of a bait and switch!!!.
We happened upon this little jewel of a place when we moved to a new-to-us apartment. Bought 2 Love seats (same fabric but not matching), an over-sized chair for the Living Room and spent around $300.00 It's a place you have to keep going back to as their stock changes constantly.
First of all overpriced stuff seeing as how it's donated and calling itself a thrift store secondly I bought a bookcase and was told to pull up to door so they could load. I did even though it was pouring rain. I waited and finally went back in the store and stood in doorway wet and waited 15 minutes and no one came but bookcase was sitting right there ready to roll out. Finally went to desk and this man asked if it was still raining because he was waiting for it to stop first. I said it was but I needed to get it loaded and leave. He very reluctantly went out the entire two feet from door where I had to park illegally and loaded it. Fortunately it was down to a sprinkle by then. Will not go back there. Very rude and inexcusable to treat a customer that way.
To the prompt reply below-
As far as price of bookcase "store owner", it was a tad overpriced just as the rest or your donated odds and ends. However I understand why some customers receive rude treatment, as apparently you are incapable or unwilling to give an "answer" reflecting the ill treatment spoken of in the review.
Really great selection of stuff and at actual thrift store prices. Was looking for martini glasses, went to another thrift store and they were $5 each. What!? Here they were like $0.50 to $2 each. Friendly staff and I was in and out. Perfect.
Great place to buy nice used furniture. Great prices and awesome weekly sales
My experience of this thrift store was underwhelming. After reading the others' reviews, I was expecting a much different experience.
The women's shoes were overpriced and pretty worn. However, there did seem to be a plethora of quality men's suit jackets. There happened to be a large donation of over 3000 shot glasses when I visited, which was pretty interesting.
The area is nice. People overall are open and friendly. I really enjoyed the friendliness of the other shoppers. I learned how to identify real crystal glassware from another shopper.
The friendliness of the staff, however, was a somewhat mixed experience, with some friendly and knowledgeable and others a bit irritated and frustrated that shoppers have entered their store. I would not want to bring my children somewhere to be treated the way I observed families with children were treated.
And when it comes to checking out, be careful. Sometimes the prices change, apparently.
Overall, you might find some good deals, depending what you're looking for; but I left this place feeling a little disappointed.
Really nice used goods... the customer service can use some work. They can be very abrupt at times to the point it get your attention.
Probably the best organized "thrift store" I have ever been in.
Absolutely love this store reasonable prices and wonderful sales. And it all goes to an amazing cause
Higher priced then most thrift stores but all proceeds go to local ministries
Good thrift store. Especially good if you want furniture
I was in town for a short trip and wandered into this store just because it was near my hotel and I was curious. I LOVED it. This store has a huge range of vintage items - clothes, housewares, furniture, decor, arts and crafts supplies, sporting goods, toys, jewelry, and handbags. They have daily specials (I was there when they had 25% off all art), and the volunteers who run the store are friendly and helpful. I actually dropped a dish and it broke and a glass shard cut my ankle. Totally my fault, but they got me bandages and gauze. When I finished shopping, I had so much stuff I couldn't just walk back to my hotel and they helped me package things so I could hop in an Uber to get back to the hotel. If you enjoy hunting for treasures and things that you'll enjoy at reasonable prices, you can't go wrong with this place!
My favorite thrift store in the area. Large, ever changing selection. Friendly volunteers always available to help
Eclectic Thrift for a great cause. Lots of good furniture here.
I heard great things about Blessings Abound, so I checked it out today. They do have some fun things to poke through, but the reason for the one star is the absolute lack of social distancing and many people wore no masks. Then they d squeeze by you in the aisles! Blessed Abound has zero control over proper social distancing in the store...I wanted to look more, but I left, I felt very unsafe.
WOW First time in store. I live in Blue Springs. We had a blast and bought a lot. I like the way it was organized. Couldn't find anyone on the floor to ask anything. Hard to buy large items that way. I am a senior citizen and needed help. That's my only complaint. Seemed very musty but I am guessing it's the quantity of old stuff. Fair prices. Wish I had been there on Senior day. Plan to return.
Great assortment of clean furnishings, household goods, clothes, glass ware. You name it. Well organized and great prices. Worth the stop!
Always a blessing to go here! Husband and I were looking for a nice storage chest to put blankets and we found a cedar chest not only a great price but we ended up getting an additional 40% off the price! $69 for a solid wood, lid with cushion cedar chest! God is good!
It's a nice enough store and atmosphere, but I'd classify it more as a boutique than a thrift store, based on the prices. The electronics section especially had some borderline outrageous prices. An 8 mm projector for $115. An original Xbox with no cords or controllers for $60. A really old centrifuge for $150. VCRs with no remote for $20. A lot of the electronics were shown as tested 4 to 6 months ago, so obviously this stuff is not selling at those prices.
Very clean and organized they have a lot of great finds.
Awesome Store, Trey the Mgr, has very little Customer Service Skill, is Very Rude and not at all accommodating to me on a simple request. Today we bought a Queen Bed Set, Sold us a Full Size Box Spring for approximately $300. It's for a friend who just had 3 Massive Heart Attacks and he was aware of that too. So we had to stop and return to the Store and get the size replacement process unnecessarily.
..
I'm posting this hoping Management SHARE HOLDERS get this post and make changes as it's Livelihood lies in Accommodation of its Returning Customer Base.
..
Lastly, they have a Purchase Club that Does Not Have Furniture Included at All? Thank You for the Read and Please Share and Thumb Up !
I was super impressed with their 2nd hand furniture options. They have about anything, in any category, but having good, clean decent (if at times awkwardly dated) furniture for low prices was nice.
The people who work there are very caring people! I love going in to find most anything I am needing for my home. Their prices are pretty good and ocassionally you might get a little less price than is posted because of some oddity!! I adore this store!
Super high prices....you'd think you were buying gold....
Have really enjoyed this store. A friend told me about it years ago and I ve been able to find all kinds of blessings. Good mix of contemporary and vintage items. The staff and volunteers are kind. Always helpful when my girls are shopping for clothes or for their apartments, and the pricing is right in their budget. Now I ve discovered their second location in the Surplus Exchange. Bought a several pieces including two matching four-poster beds and a night stand for less than chain discount stores wanted to charge me for two cheap headboards. What s not to love? Worth the trip and thrilled they partnered with Connecting For Good to create a midtown location for furniture.
Lots of cute stuff. They are a little pricey with their items for a thrift store.
This place has a nice collection from knick knacks to furniture. They did a great job of organizing and marking sections so it's easy to find what you're looking for.
After a long two years of anticipating another visit to your store, my mom and I were were sotely disappointed today. All of housewares and furniture were grossly overpriced. We looked at several items like a medium sized basket was $11, a set of candlesticks were $32, several pieces of furniture like long dressers and tables( nice but used, scratched, banged up, most needing lots of tlc). The tables were priced high $150 and then the matching chairs were an additional $80-100. We love supporting church and community thrift stores but with these prices we cannot afford to buy anything. We will be back with the hope that we will see reasonably priced items once again. However, we left feeling discouraged and wondering what happened to the great store manager of 2017!
Awesome thrift store and a great cause. I found my number one favorite suit there
MY FAVORITE THRIFT STORE. Easy access at 105th and Metcalf, next to Walmart, behind Jack-in-the-box, in Overland Park, KS. Priced fairly, organized, helpful Volunteers, from baby clothes to adult clothes, pot and pans, dishes, glassware, housewares, small appliances, beds, furniture, linens, bedding, gardening, pictures...sports and fishing, IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT WAS DONATED IN GOOD CONDITION. LOVE this Thrift Store, which supports a multiplicity of Lutheran Ministries. Mgb. 6-19-2018. SENIOR AND MILITARY SERVICE DISCOUNT OF 25% ON THURSDAYS. Hours 10 AM to 6 PM, M- F; 10 AM -4PM Saturdays; and Closed on Sundays. Mgb. 12-17-2020.
Due to its level of organization and cleanliness, it made it much easier to determine whether or not what we wanted was there.
High quality items. Lots of furniture. Not the cheapest but that's what you pay for unique finds like what they have. Set up more like a boutique. The staff are volunteers so be as sweet as they are and be patient.
BLESSINGS ABOUND is the most encouraging and edifying place to VOLUNTEER in Kansas City! The staff and top boss Tony make you feel so APPRECIATED AND VALUED!
Very good furniture and personal items, at good prices
Good prices. The merchandise is well organized. Prices are clearly marked. Friendly staff and volunteers.
We had Blessings Abound pick up a huge tv armoire. They called when they were running ahead of schedule. They were in and out of our house in 10 minutes and this was not an easy piece to move. Thank you so much for such great service.
Great place to price up a one time outfit. Also good place to donate
I visit about once a week, and almost always find something I can't leave without!
My go to store every Thursday. Great service and selection
Full of treasures! Wednesday, clothes were 25% off. Great place for vintage adult wear. Great for budget minded shoppers who know their brands.
Love the ladies n gentlemen volunteers and all the shelf surprises. The 10th Anniversary Sale was so fun.
This thrift store is one of the best I've been to. There are so many "departments," each having a wide and good quality selection of items. Most of the time items are placed in the correct section/size, but usually I find a handful of items that shouldn't be where they are. I will keep coming back here for sure.
I'm rating this thrift shop 5 stars because of their amazing furniture selection. Dressers, nightstands, mattresses, you name it, this place has it. A little more expensive than other thrift shops in KC, except for the clothing selection which is priced by rack. There were less options in the mens clothing section (a usually struggle at thrift stores), and it looked like the clothing selection had been picked through pretty well. Over all, this place is worth stopping by if you are in the area.
I absolutely love this thrift store. A little pricey but we'll worth it.
A really nice thrift store. They have a lot of interesting stuff.
I went here for the first time today, and it so happened to be there 10 year anniversary so they were giving away free water and cookies, which was a very nice touch! Man oh man, this place is HUGE! They have a huge selection of furniture, some really really cool vintage stuff. Everything I saw was in pretty decent condition and reasonably priced. Lots of china, linens, kitchenware and knick knacks. I didn't even have a chance to check out the clothing haha. This will definitely be one of my new haunts! :)
My wife loves this store, she gets good bargains and all the workers are so nice.
A lot of items and wide selection. A little pricey but good finds thoughout.
Unless it's a special % sale...this is expensive. Shoes were $ 6-8. Clothes were $4 shirts etc. Not very budget friendly for considerably used items.
Love the people and always find what I'm looking for!
This store is an old folks home. There is no modern items in the entire store
