I unfortunately experienced a data breach due to the careless actions of the hotel's management. While two managers attempted separately to make up for this mishandling of personal information - via champagne, breakfast, and pre-reserved rooms for early check-in - none of these items were actually followed through except for the breakfast (although only for 2 of the 3 mornings). While I appreciated the staff's attempts so remedy the egregious handling of my personal information, they severely lacked the follow through necessary to remedy my dissatisfaction.

Outside of this isolated event, as a general patron I was disappointed in the hotel. The rooms were dated, beds were lumpy, and small cramped bathrooms. The hotel's layout results in many rooms facing street side, with a loud streetcar rolling through multiple times an hour. Many rooms will be located near or directly in front of a loud elevator. Additionally, the elevators are very slow.

The redeeming qualities are the location of the hotel and the on-site restaurant.

All in all, I recommend trying a different hotel. You'll likely find more comfortable accommodations down the street for a lesser or comparable price to the Blake Hotel.

Checked in early effortlessly. Room was neat and clean. Would have been 5 stars, but housekeeping sprayed strong perfume, which is not too good for my wife with asthma. Also, parking is $44.07 per night, which was not conveyed b4 we booked.

The Blake Hotel New Orleans location is perfect just a short walk from everything. Location is where the positive stops, the staff is friendly however will not let you know when your room is ready, you must continue to ask. The rooms are spacious however the beds are one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in, the TV is very unused friendly and stoped working after 20 mins of use. Don't leave your room key behind if you use the elevator you will not be able to return to your room. Lastly if it rains the stairwells and the lobby will flood.

I would like to share two outstanding events that happened during our stay at the Blake.
First let me say our room, the accomadations and everything in general was great, but that is not what I want to share.
On the morning of March 31st my wife and I were having breakfast in the hotel restaurant on the bottom floor when a huge rain storm blackened the sky. It was so severe that water was running from the street going onto the sidewalk and starting to enter the restaurant. A young woman with 2 small children was caught in the storm. The children were scared, soaked and crying. Customers and staff pulled her into the back door, offered her sanctuary and dried her off. She barely spoke English, but let her gratitude be known. I was amazed.
Next morning, April 1st we were checking out and the young lady at the desk called a cab to the airport for us. I believe it was Tony's transit. He took us to the airport. Along the way my wife realized she had left without her phone. Time was critical. Tony called the young lady at the desk, she personally searched the restaurant and our room. Found our phone, unbelievable. Then tony called another driver from his company, joe, who was near the Blake, went to the hotel, got the phone from the desk clerk, I wish I could remember her name, brought the phone from the hotel to the airport and delivered it to my wife. We made our flight and a possible disaster turned into a great bonus for the day. The Blake personnel and the cab company were honest, thoughtful, and tremendous. I would recommend the Blake to anyone, my kind of people. Thanks so much.

The place is nice, yet the shower barely has water pressure, the ac have to be 10 degrees lower than what you want, the rooms are VERY small, and the elevator is falling apart. NOT TO MENTION, parking is $16 a day and four blocks away. It definitely ruined the first two days of my honeymoon.

The hotel itself is nice and has pretty much everything that other hotels offer. The location is great and central to a lot of the New Orleans Hotspots. The service was okay. There was a day that I left the hotel in the morning with the thought I would come back to a clean room in the night instead everything was just the way I left it. Also after 3 days into my stay the staff kept asking me if I was checking out everytime I called the Valet for my car. My reservation was for 5 days and I felt as though the staff wanted to get me out of the hotel earlier to free up a room.

First of all, we booked online and the pictures do NOT represent what we got. Our room was maybe an 8x8 room. Thank goodness we were going to spend most of our time out of the hotel. There is NO onsite parking. We knew we would have to pay for parking, but they told us to go 5 blocks away to park, so we drove there and paid for parking for a week, only to realize on the walk back to the Blake that there's a parking garage half a block away from the hotel!!! The worst part is this had to be the worst parking garage ever! The corners are so tight and we witnessed the valet drivers driving erratically and super fast around corners EVERY TIME! Do not trust them with your car. The bathroom sink was dirty under the rim. The rest of the room was very clean. The hotel restaurant only serves basic food. We couldn't even get a steak. The Lafayette chicken dish was good, however, but the Angus Steak was simply a Salisbury steak covered in gravy. The elevators felt like they were going to crash to the bottom every time you got on them...very rickety. No amenities really at this hotel (they do have a gym on the top level). Basically, New Orleans has so many other hotels to stay at with way better amenities for just a little more.

The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room tho was very lack luster. Our door which was painted, has the paint peeling now. Also the closet door can open completely because the cabinet holding the fridge and microwave is too close and doesn't allow for it. There's no pool and no continental breakfast

Needed an affordable place to crash while in N'awlins for work tonight since one of my projects ran over and put me late getting to my last project without time to finish tonight. Was close to the French Quarter and didn't want to have to have an extended trip so grabbed up one of the few vacant rooms. Absolutely perfect choice. Got the downtown city view room on the 7th Floor and the room is quaint and appealing with enough space for the business traveler and a great view of "old, French" downtown not to far from Lafayette Square with the "new" Downtown skyline. Wonderful hotel and Jared, the Front Desk Manager was absolutely fantastic 5 Stars for the Room and if I could give 10 Stars for Jared and his service I absolutely would! Keep him around!

I will never stay here again. The staff was not the problem, in fact they were very nice. The restaurant downstairs was very good and the location is pretty decent. The problem is the quality, rates, parking, marketplace prices are just ridiculous. Parking just to stay here was $38/night!! A small bag of chips was $3. My stay for 2 nights totaled $756.92 with little value. The hotel isn't that nice, I didn't have any special room, and there are virtually no amenities included. You'd think for $300/night they'd at the very least allow you to park there. The internet was terrible. They only have two elevators so waiting for that was never quick. Never. Again. Will I throw away almost $1k on crap. There are a hundred other places you can stay where the hotel actually allows you to park and some even throw in a breakfast. These other places actually offer value with the prices they charge. The Blake did not. Don't waste your hard earned money, they'll be happy to take it. They also offer no military discount. Everything was so outdated. The outlet on the lamp didn't work. The shower wasn't nice at all. Rooms were small. Whoever owns this, I honestly don't know how you consciously sleep at night. Although, I'm sure you're living very comfortably as a result of taking advantage of people. I come to New Orleans often, this was my first and last stay here. I'm nauseous about how much money you guys took from me for literally a substandard place to lay my head. I know with what you charge for room rates, parking, a bag of chips, and a sprite there is money to update and renovate. Shame on you. I'd be interested in hearing why you charge what you charge and what value you feel like you bring to your customers for those prices (especially charging your customers to park there, that's like buying a movie ticket to watch a movie then getting inside and having to pay an additional charge to sit in one of the seats...doesn't make any sense).

My family and I searched and searched for the perfect location for seating and staying for Mardi Gras. After speaking to several hotel employees to confirm our purchase including Mardi Gras seating and parking both were denied to us. We even went as far as speaking face to face about this confirmation of seating when we checked in just to be safe. We were told that yes, guest at the hotel with the blue wristband given to us have full access to the seating and balcony for all parades.

To our dismay this was all false. When we walked out to the designated seating we were told these would have to be purchased separately . After frustrations, we agreed to pay the extra fee due to the fact our mother is in the process of receiving new knees. Standing/walking can cause major damage.

We went to the staff to purchase tickets as told and what do you know...We are told sorry they are sold out and there is nothing they can do about it. We asked to speak to a manager and he was unprofessional by his poor attitude and he stated there s nothing we can do. It s sold out on the balcony. You can purchase $30 seating. Which once again when we tried to purchase, we then were told they are sold out.

So Blake Hotel tell us included or not included? Sold out or available? Which is it?

Communication needs to be clear to every guest from booking to checking in.

This was a trip we have planned for months and look forward to. And so far the entire treatment we have received from the front desk and management of the Blake Hotel is unprofessional, unkind and frankly a unacceptable. We will not be returning and will share our experience with others who may be traveling to the wonderful city of New Orleans.

Blake Hotel is definitely a pass when staying in New Orleans.

My fiance and I stayed overnight at The Blake Hotel. The staff was very friendly and hospitable (we encountered fantastic front desk and cleaning staff). We enjoyed the location, as everything we wanted to do was within walking distance from the hotel. The lobby was very inviting and our room was enjoyable. We would love to stay here again!

This is a very run down hotel. They also charge you one price then once your there they charge extra fees. The lady at the desk did not care about multiple customers complaining. She just kept saying you have to wait for the manager which was not on shift and wouldn t be here until the next morning. Do not be fooled by the pictures. The rooms look nothing like what the pictures show. Never again.

I recently stayed at this hotel. Very nice. The lady behind the desk was the sweetest. Before I made reservations I told them I wanted a quiet room. I know that if you stay by the windows in the front you can hear the trolly cars all night. I didn't want that. When I went up to my room I was a little surprised. I was on the very top floor and my room had no windows, no neighbors. I swear they cleaned out a storage room just for me. I enjoyed it. Very quiet. The only problem I had was the cost of certain things. Like orange juice. So I decided to get an orange juice at the store up the road and put it in the ice box for the next morning. When I woke up my orange juice was spoiled because the ice box wasn't working. So I called the front desk. They said they would have someone come up and look at it. I told him not to worry, if they could just send me an orange juice since the one I purchased was spoiled. 30 minutes later and no orange juice. 45 minutes later, while I am getting dressed and ready to leave still no orange juice. When I went to check out I told him not to worry about the orange juice because I was ready to leave. He hadn't even called for the orange juice. Like really. Thank God I wasn't wanting to eat breakfast in my room. I would have been waiting all day. Other than the room service taking forever I had a pretty decent trip.

Decent hotel. Good location. Instead of taking the trolley I was able to just walk to wherever I wanted to go. Bourbon Street was about a 12min walk away. The king room with the city view was nice. The bed was perfect! 4 stars only because the cleaning crew could've did a better job with cleaning the shower walls. Other than that, it was a nice hotel stay.

This hotel is very nice and clean. It's also very small. The rooms are small and only on one side of the hall. It looks like the hotel was built on a small patch of land left over after an office building was constructed.

Our room had a king size bed, small desk with chair and comfortable chair. It had built in drawers under the TV and a cabinet with fridge, microwave and coffee pot.

Only problem I had was I use a scooter wheelchair to get around. It was close call getting between the desk and wall to bathroom. I read in other reviews about lack of house keeping services. I tried to find their policy in the information in the room but I couldn't. We stayed two nights and never saw a house keeping cart. There was a sign that said if you need more linens call.

The area is nice and I felt safe there. We arrived by Amtrak so I don't know about parking your car. It is an easy walk to and from the station. Takes a little longer to get to the French Quarter.

My daughter and her new husband just checked out there during a stay on their honeymoon. They are in my car and when they picked up the car from valet, the BACK seat was broken and laying down flat (it's a 2013 Ford Fusion...seat couldn't possibly have broken on it's own) as well as the navigation system was screwed up. Two things that NO valet driver should have been messing with. My son-in-law is a police officer and firmly believes they were going through their vehicle as there is no reason they would have been in the back seat. They met with the garage manager who refused to accept any responsibility for this. I guess we will have to let the legal system decide that. My daughter said the rooms were nice, but small. Other than the exceptionally bad valet service and the lack of responsibility assumed by The Blake Hotel, the rest of their stay was good. BEWARE IF YOU USE THEIR VALET SERVICES!!!!

This is a smaller, older hotel. It was clean although could use some work on their tall room curtains in room. Good, location. A lot less expensive than some, but saved money can be used elsewhere. It was nice they are right next to the park. We were able to listen to music and eat and walk right back in hotel. We were picked up at hotel for swamp tour. We could catch the trolley a short walk out from hotel, yet it was an easy walk to the French Market area.

Overall, a pretty good experience. Comfy rooms with nice views. It did take a bit to get towels to the room, and I had a few troubles with my room's keycard. The elevator also felt a bit uncomfortable and rickety. The front staff worked quickly to fix the problems they could solve however. Will definitely be coming back to the Blake on my next NOLA trip!

Decent room, ok beds. Front desk staff was very nice and was particularly helpful working through a booking issue. Had to ask a couple times for a coffee bar restock, though when they did it arrived in minutes. Feels like a group you can get to know, not a faceless corporate franchise.

Positive: Excellent service from the front desk. Friendly staff and there's a nice cafe downstairs. They also have a great vallet service; 24 hour access to your car for one price.

Negative: At one point one of the elevators was broken and the fire-alarm lights were flashing but there as no emergency.

Waited about 3 hours for an early check in. Then was charged an extra $77 for an extra bed even though I had booked a double occupancy. I was told it might get refunded but it wasn't. Had to request housekeeping at 2pm since my room wasn't made up so it's no wonder why no rooms were available for early check in.
