Will never return to this hotel, and I will advise my loved ones and anyone I care about to never come to the Blake hotel. When I first entered the hotel to check in, the young black female working the front desk, her name is Jamila, was very rude and made me feel as though the Hotel didn t want my business; She will snatch documents and payments out of your hand, she speaks rudely over you while you re speaking, and not very helpful which made check-in awkward and uncomfortable. I came here to New Orleans to celebrate my birthday and Mardi Gras as well and it s sad to say that the service I ve received from The Blake Hotel has put a damper on things..at check-in I received a front and back list of Hotel Rules which I do feel only the qualifying guests receive, not everyone. Very very strict list of hotel rules which I find sort of solitable. This hotel feels more like a concentration camp rather than somewhere For enjoyment, forget about any fun here.. The Blake Hotel is an absolute No-Fun Zone! I will not be returning and if you are reading this and have not booked yet, please don t book at the Blake Hotel, don t say you weren t warned.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was within walking distance to just about everything we wanted to do. The lady that checked us in was very nice and helped us select a restaurant for dinner. They also put out freshly baked cookies every night. There is a parking garage next to the hotel. Park there and you will save money. It's only 30 dollars a day. Get the parking app and reserve a space before you go. You will have to ride the trolley to go to the garden district. It was a nice ride and a great experience. Housekeeping could have been better but not bad enough to complain. The hallways really needed to be vacuumed. It also takes a while for the hot water to get to the room, it gets there in its own time. We would stay there again.

First off front desk is super nice and helpful ! The room wasn t awful except for the smell coming out of bathroom sink and the used contacts that were evidently left on a floor that wasn t vacuumed I guess, and if u use their valet service to park your car it s fifty a night and now I have scratches on back of car and a dent where I been hit or they backed into something . So my suggestion is take a walk around video of car before they take it and look at it before you leave, but it s the big easy right .

This place is acceptable and nothing more. Valet is a rip off because there are plenty of places to park if you research in advance. Also, I witnessed a woman who was forced to pay twice the nightly price because she booked in advance. They offered her no discount. Again, this place is a necessary evil but wouldn't be my first choice. Location is 5 blocks from Bourbon St.

1. Check in girls and sean great. Downfalls room very small especially with 2 queen beds...nowhere to put anything...not updated not very clean in rooms i figure because of it being new orleans...no where to park your car so it is taken away by vallet and parked somewhere in city...this a problem for us because we travel with soda and water and use to being able to get to our car to bring in more when needed...then theres the price you pay for parking... I think like $44/day. The good thing is they do call for your car when you need it only takes like 15 min. Also girls can call you a cab because you don't drive your car around. So it comes down to the room ateas need to be updated and more room and cleaner...

Housekeeping was terrible! Room didn't get cleaned and I had to beg 3 times for toiletries. We paid an exorbitant price for the room so expected great service to go with it. They got their money so they could care less.

Expected more fr the hotel. The decor was fair, certainly not exceptional. One of the lamps in room simply didn't have a bulb. Valet is the only parking and no pool or even hot tub. I wasn't pleased w this hotel.

The rooms were small and outdated. The door opener never worked. At midnight the fire alarm sounded and the staff didn't know what was going on. Trying to get into my room late at night, the door didn't open and there was no maintenance person working this hotel at night. The front desk staff had no idea what so ever what politeness means. All together a very bad experience. Not recommended. The only good thing the waitress at the restaurant and the breakfast.

They don't have a parking lot and they charge 45$ for valet parking.
I reserved a room from booking.com for 55$ and when I arrive to hotel under thunderstorm, they want to charge 45$ more for valet parking. I said "I don't want a valet parking, I can park my car by myself." Then they told me hotel doesn't have a parking lot and I am free to find a public parking.
I had to cancel my reservation and find another hotel with parking lot "under thunderstorm" and now I see they charged me 68$.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. When I checked in, the staff told me I'd booked two rooms, not one -- so I spent my first half hour there on the phone with Orbitz, confirming that I'd booked only one room. The air conditioning was blasting the whole time, but the temperature never dropped below 75. After I called the front desk twice -- they hung up on me the first time -- staff came up, confirmed that the AC was broken, but then wouldn't put me in a new room, even though other guests were still checking in. I've contacted them a few times since to resolve these issues but continue to find the staff rude and unhelpful. Avoid the Blake at all costs.

Love my stays here! Its a upscale hotel! Check in is my only challenge due to them saying your room is available at a certain time and its not or you wait for it to be ready and its be available. They don't provide complimentary breakfast in the morning, they do have room service and you pay for valet parking, which you will do regardless..

As a former hotel general Manager with 20 years of experience, I felt the staff is great, but the hotel is old, run down and in need of remodeling. The elevator was old, slow and the stainless steel walls were starting to rust. The bathroom floor was sticky and tile was discolored. The windows had scratches and difficult to see out of. Will not stay here again.

First, the staff was GREAT! They were friendly, kind, and attentive.
That being said... our room was not ready on time we had to kill an additional three hours after check in time. Valet parking is too expensive and paid self parking is half a mile away. The room was clean with great views but we could hear the toilet running all night. The trolley passed by frequently and was noisy. The elevator and the door to the stairs could be heard throughout the night. Finally the free wifi was inconsistent.

But with all that said it was a good hotel just not a good room. I would not stay again.

Horrible. Hotel knew in advance it was our wedding night. Our car was valaed and luggage checked in. security gave me trouble checking in at 2am because I was a drunk groom in new Orleans. Long story short police were called and police made them check us in our room. Thr girl at the desk said nothing the entire time. This put a huge damper on my wedding night. Thanks Blake, and the rental cop who had a bad day.

We stayed at the Blake hotel for 3 nights. Out of the 4 days we were there, our room never got cleaned. We had a toilet issue and told the front desk. It took 2 days for them to fix this! We told them that we were going to be gone for the whole day and we needed towel and our room straightened up. They said that they would get it taken care of while we were gone. We came back late that night with no new towels and the room not being cleaned. We will never come back to this hotel again!!!

What a great place to stay if you are visiting New Orleans, and the staff are wonderful and the restaurant has great food and the staff is also very friendly at the restaurant, ask for Kenneth and he will take great care of you.The hotel is about 5 or 6 blocks from the French Quarters. The owner Mr. Blake Jones, is a great person and an outstanding Lawyer, if you ever need a Lawyer, you are in the right place. Have fun in Saints Nation!

Enjoyed this hotel. Located almost right in the center of the action and it was easy to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. The vallet parking is a bit expensive, but convenient if you don't want to look for a spot to park. I looked before arriving and there is a ramp behind the hotel. Room was smaller, but was enough to sleep and get ready the next day. We had a corner room and loved all the weird cubby spots they used. Only had decaf coffee for the in room coffee maker though. Check out was fast and the desk person made sure we enjoyed our stay.

You honesty can t beat the prices and the fact that the Blake hotel is very close to everything, we did not have to drive at all during our time in Nola. However the cleaning quality is kind of poor. We entered our room to an open refrigerator and garbage left on the floor/shelves from the cleaning crew. We also did not have a shower curtain. However, one quick call to the front desk and they sent someone to clean everything pretty promptly. We also utilized the free fruit infused water in the lobby every time we came back to our room. You get what you pay for

Decent prices and walking distance from everything we wanted to do. Only thing preventing 5 stars is the fact that the room wasn't very clean. There were used to band-aids on the room floor and balls of hair all over the place. There was hair already in the beds too.

Stayed here for my wedding weekend & also had a room block for my wedding party & family. Everything went great! They went above & beyond to make each of us comfortable & happy. We had a little gift basket in our room, which was really sweet. They helped me out by handing out gift bags to my guests. The rooms are nice enough, if decorated in a little older fashion. The location & price is great. Would definitely stay here again & recommend for group bookings!

The Good: Location was the main reason we picked this place followed by affordability. The price of the room was cheap and we were able to walk to (almost) every destination. Where we couldn't walk we just bought a day pass on the railcar ($6 for two people). Staff was great.
The Bad: the only parking option was a $45/night valet. Otherwise, good luck finding another lot. Yikes.
The Ugly: The rooms were disgusting. When we checked in there were food crumbs scattered about the carpet of the room and a massive black hair left in the tub. It looked like they hadn't vacuumed for cleaned the bathrooms in weeks. The bed and sheets were fine but I don't think they own a vacuum or any sort of tile cleaner. We almost demanded another, cleaner room.
Overall: I would stay here again because the location was incredible. However, they need to clean better.

Hotel is in a great location. Room was very clean. Valet parking a little high priced. Takes a long time to get your car. The only issue we had was when we checked out our car had 100 more miles on it. Radio station had been changed and car was almost out of gas. I contacted hotel about this and have not heard back.

I stayed here 6 nights. Everyone was super nice, I enjoyed my stay and would consider staying here again. There were a few things that I felt like the manager should know... they bothered me enough to email them... hopefully they took care of it. But things that probably won't/can't be addressed right away and you should know are: the rooms are not well insulated from sound and the doors slam so hard I woke up at all hours. I could hear the doors all the way down the hall and I mean slamming so hard they shook the room and sounded like people were fighting, which... one night there WERE people fighting, but in general it was just how the doors closed if you didn't carefully shut them behind you. The gym is super super basic with NO mats, just 2 ancient treadmills, a single bench with about 6 free weights and an old cable machine that clinks when you use it (but this gym has a great view and is clean!). The bathrooms do not have fans/no circulation. The main elevator takes a million years - use the small one instead - and the stairs are useless... I couldn't figure out how to get to the lobby with the stairs... and that seems like a very simple thing, right? Apparently people don't use those in New Orleans. The window tinting on all the windows (most of the hotel exterior is glass) looks dirty, sloppy and poorly applied - has bubbles and lines in it which I've never seen before on a glass building and this obviously isn't a big deal but... definitely makes you think, "Oh, that's why this hotel was such a good deal." Attached are some photos! It's an old hotel and and it's inexpensive, so I'm actually not that disappointed by this stuff and despite how horrible some of these photos may seem.... I would stay here again.

VERY small rooms. We had a mix up with our reservation and the staff was very difficult to understand that The Blake Hotel is responsible for its' employees and that they need to make accommodations for their errors. The room was clean and comfortable. We had early days so the Cafe was never open when we had to leave for our granddaughter's cheer competition, Overall, we would stay here again.
