We really enjoyed this hotel! We went for our anniversary and it was a pleasant stay. The only down fall that I could find was the bathroom water pressure was not the best and the bath tub had a mat that did not help from falling. It was a nice walk from the hotel to the French Quarter. The staff is wonderful! We loved the little cafe in the hotel. The food was delicious and fairly priced. I would describe the room as cozy.

We visited New Orleans a couple weeks ago. (Early August 2013). We stayed here for one night. From what we saw online, the hotel seems attractive and clean. The pictures were much better looking than what they really look like. We first were asked to sign a contract of non smoking room, we were okay with that since we do not smoke. But when we went to our room it smells like smoke. The linen was not ironed, and seemed like someone had just left and housekeeper did a quick cleaning without changing the sheets. We immediately asked to move to another room. We got our 2nd room and was better. It did not smell like smoke, however there was a red stain on the wall that was not cleaned, the bathroom's shower head was leaking and there was no hair dryer. There were also spots of painting that was not done properly, it seems like they tried to pain the room and did a very poor job.

We were there from Saturday December 31st thru January 3rd for the 2017 Sugar Bowl. It was our very first time in New Orleans. The Blake Hotel was very nice. The hotel lobby and front desk people were friendly and helpful to us. Coming from Tulsa, Oklahoma this is all new to us. Our room was quite small, but fitting for us. We had problems with the heat and air conditioner, though maintenance came right up to fix the problem. It was perfect setting for where the location was. We walked and road the trolley everywhere. The cleaning people came in gave us clean towels and cleaned our room the time we stayed. Our bed was comfortable and big. The only issue we had was the walls were thin. We could hear our neighbors next door. The internet didn't work very well. The parking was too expensive. about $152 for the days we were there. That's about $38 a night. Across the way there was parking for $25 for a whole day. You would think for the price of the hotel the parking would be free, like every other hotel has. This is the first we had to pay for parking while being out of town. All in all we had the best time in New Orleans. The people & food are the best! Thank you The Blake Hotel for having us okies!!

My husband and I stayed at the Blake Hotel last fall and really had a nice experience. It was close to everything, really clean, etc. So, when we found out we had a wedding in New Orleans in Spring 2016, we knew we wanted to stay there again. We made our reservation, got our confirmation email, etc. Good to go (so I thought)....

One or two weeks later, we get an email from The Blake saying, "...sorry to hear you won't be staying with us. We have processed your cancellation..." WHAT?? We were freaking out because (1) we never cancelled, and (2) we knew hotel rooms were in short supply in NOLA that weekend. We called immediately to figure out what this email was about, but the front desk said they couldn't help because the reservation desk had closed at 4pm. We tried to make another reservation online, but the website said no availability.

So, we called the next day (today) and this was their excuse... they said they cancelled our reservation because the credit card didnt go through. Well, turns out it is because they mistyped our billing address when they tried to charge the deposit... But instead of simply calling us to solve the problem, they just cancelled our reservation entirely - leaving us without lodging! What a pain, because the rest of the city hotels were solidly booked up.

I normally never write reviews, but I am really disappointed with how they handed this. It's a shame, because we really enjoyed The Blake the first time we stayed and were looking forward to being repeat customers.

I couldn't get my room to be above 64 degrees. I had the heat turned on to 80 and it got colder. Turns out they have to get a guy to physically turn off the a.c. only after you complain. Also couldn't get hot water in my room they said it was cause other guest was using the showers but I literally have never had a cold shower at a hotel before and I tried both morning, after we got back from going out and the following morning. It was a good price but I probably won't be back. It wasn't worth it.

We were not pleased with our stay here at ALL. The rooms were not sanitary, dirty carpets, unclean sheets and bedding, bathrooms shower curtains nasty, housekeeping slack, front desk staff very rude. On the second night we requested clean linen that wasn't done until after 3 pm, then when we rolled back the linen that night there was a huge chunck of someones hair (yuck). The other bedding had stains on them, and as I searched the room for the remote control I couldnt find it but when I got into bed there it was folded up in the bedding. We had to request a room change because the vending machine (ice) was leaking water all in front of our room, the air conditioning didn't work properly, plumbing issues. The list can go on and on as to how displeased we were with our stay here. I definitely will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. The best thing about our stay was the Essence festival that we attended and the Cafe thats located in the lobby but not a part of the hotel.

Very friendly staff... Valet was very informative and knowledgable about parking options... Front Desk Attendant was very patient with us when called for late checkout after oversleeping, which was very helpful to Us... We ordered breakfast from the hotel restaurant and the food was plentiful and very good... All around experience was top notch... The main reason I chose this hotel is for the name... My
Angel Son's name was BLAKE... He was killed 5 years ago in a motor vehicle accident... So, the minute I saw the name of the hotel, I knew I had to try to it!!
Would definitely recommend this establishment to friends & family...

Staff was great. Price of hotel was great. However the parking price was ridiculous, $35 to park is nuts. Make sure you calculate that into your decision. Oh yeah and the beds were the worst. Had a ditch in the middle so I had to continuously crawl out of it.

The Blake Hotel is located right along a number of Mardi Gras parade routes, making it ideal for watching. However, the rooms are small and the front desk seems rather disorganized; for example, they mistook our 3-day booking for a 1-day one and nearly kicked us out.

Everything about this place is below 1 star. The rooms are tiny, the floors are sticky, the windows have distorted tint that you can't see out of, the staff is obnoxiously rude, the walls are painted depressing shades of brown, there is an unbearable stench that is worse than the average New Orleans stink that is expected. I wouldn't stay here again even if they had the last vacant room in town, Katrina came back for round 2, and it was free!

The rooms are extremely nice, and the hotel is pretty good. The parking situation is probably the only reason this is a 4 star instrad of a 5 star. The front desk staff looks like they came straight out of a sitcom, which I mean in the best way possible. They are incredibly nice and welcoming.

What a great place!... My wife and I were in town for a conference and stayed at Blake. Awesome location , walking distance to convention center, Riverwalk, Casino and French Quarter. Street Car line runs right in front of!... Jazz and food in the park right next door, and the Management Social every evening with delicious food was something we looked forward to. We will definitely be back!

The location was easy to find. I don't like that they do not have a parking garage, so their valet parking is $39.00, which I think it's a bit too much for an overnight stay. Our room was in a hidden corner right behind the ice machine. The room inside looked clean and the bathroom as well. We were able to hear the ice machine at night, it was pretty loud. Other than, that it was okay to stay overnight. The staff was nice.

Worst guest serve ever. House keeping do not clean the rooms for days, staff don t communicate among each other and no one knows why the room hasn t been cleaned. Even after complaining nothing gets done. They keep saying first thing in the morning because no one is here and still nothing. Would not recommend this place at all. Save your money and go to a clean hotel where they care about guests.

Nice hotel with a nice place to get breakfast on ground floor. Fantastic location within walking distance of bourbon street, French quarter, Harrahs casino and many other places. It's a pricey place. The hallways are small. The rooms are a little dated and small as well. But all in all it is a nice place to stay.

Not a bad hotel. FRONT Desk could have been nicer though. I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED (sorry for the caps, it's my phone) to be closer to the action though. I thought it was a little far to walk although I did. But my sandals one day and heels the next killed me! ;-)

The lobby is nice looking, however the rooms are small and the walls need painting & caulking needs replacing. Our bathroom was dirty with hair on the floor and towels. On our way out to tour the city we asked the concierge to have the bathroom cleaned and for fresh towels only to return to a dirty room. We called them upon return and they said housekeeping had left for the day. It's a hotel in a damn near 24hr tourist city...so housekeeping should be here. The $240 a night is obviously for the location, lobby decor, and fresh cookies between 5-7pm. NOT IMPRESSED BUT IT COULD ALWAYS BE WORSE. :-/

Wouldn't recommend this hotel under any circumstance. Definitely not a "premier" hotel nor a 3.5 star hotel. Also not recently renovated as stated on the website. The rooms don't look like the pictures, beds are worn out and sagging in the middle, not recently painted either. Found a bug in my bed and the hotel staff was disinterested in trying to remedy the issue. There is not a valet or bellboy so you have to unload and take your bags to the room yourself while paying the highest valet parking fee in new Orleans. Very dissatisfied and definitely would not recommend.

A very good hotel near the heart of New Orleans. It is close enough to the french quarter that you can easily walk there, but not too close that you are kept awake by the partying. The are plenty of restaurants nearby and the trolley stops are only a short walk away.
The rooms were clean and in excellent condition when I checked in. The hotel staff were very accommodating to my needs.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting New Orleans.

decent hotel

decent hotel
good position (french quarter very close)
decent service
BUT to have the receipt I had to make a phone call after departure and request again, while I was supposed to have it by e-mail the same day of departure. Quite strange.
Called three times and still no receipt. Called fourth time and eventually they informed me that I have to contact the web site service I used for reserve.
So what? 1 more star less. Total 1 star. They deserved 1 star.

Room was just ok, kinda dirty. The elevators are old and very slow and one was out of service. We were rushed out of the restaurant and the service at the resturant wasnt the greatest. Most of The staff were very friendly, I called a week in advance to order flowers for a anniversary, when I got there, no one knew anything about it. I had to rush and try to put something to gather myself. I wouldn't recommend this place, not with all the other options around the area

Terrible service. Avoid this place. There are much better options.

The WIFI works intermittently and when it does work it s slow.

There are no plugs in the room to charge your phone.

The front desk staff are slow and rude.

Parking costs $45.00 per night - plus tax.

Loved the location, decor and small room size- perfect for a solo traveler. Bed was very comfortable and pillows were small. Gym was nice, but one treadmill didn't work and the other was loud enough that I was nervous I would wake up other guests. Really wanted to like this hotel, but unfortunately cannot recommend. Beware- the streetcar line runs all hours of the day, so I woke up to that at 4:30 AM every morning.

Not even close to being worth the money. After arrival we discover there is no parking and have to pay 44/day for valet parking. By 5pm one elevator was broke, came back that evening and the 2nd elevator was broken with answer on when it might be fixed. No assistance for the inconveninence. The least they could of done was have refreshments for all the guests in the lobby. Very disappointed.

Solid hotel, great location for the Super Dome, French Quarter, and the surrounding area. Rooms were just right, not plain but not over the top either. Staff was good, nice friendly greetings and care, and the room was clean, and well done. Price was good for a weekend in football season, too. I wish more hotels were this good.

Staff was not friendly. Booked room with guaranteed reservation. Staff tried to down grade to queen room book luckily I had my confirmation showing room was guaranteed. When it was shown to staff she basically said regardless of what the confirmation said, since it was booked through a third party they couldn t give me the king room that was paid for. She told me I would have to contact the third party that I booked through to dispute my complaint. The only reason she honored my reservation was because I wouldn t take the down graded room. She was not friendly and she does not have good customer service skills at all. I will not be staying here ever again.

I m only giving one star because I have to. There wasn t a valet person in sight to park. There were no carts to be found to carry All of our luggage to the 4th floor. The room is either to hot or freezing there is no happy medium. The bed has a janky dirty looking blanket inbetween the two SHEETS on the bed. No ice machine or even a place to get a drink we would have to walk over 4 blocks to get it. It was very inconvenient, staff was horrible. The experience was not one I want to experience again. I m very unsatisfied!!
