I was referred to BKM by another company that has had a good relationship with them. My business spent over $25K up front on a custom furniture order with BKM while we built our new office. Initially the their rep seemed helpful and knowledgeable, but I subsequently realized that he was not fully accurate in his note taking in building our order. Moreover, just a few days before we were set to move, the rep notified us that the furniture would not arrive in time, even though we were explicitly clear on the importance of the timing of our delivery, in order to plan our move and be set up for our official opening date. So our interior designer had to work many hours to at least get us some temporary furniture. After two months and many visits by BKM reps, we still don't have all of our pieces. And after the first month's delay I lost count of the number of errors in our order, as well as the number of times the estimated delivery dates were changed. The quality of the furniture is good, but I have lost more time and money dealing with BKM than it's been worth. I've bee told several times that this is unusual customer service for BKM, but after repeated errors, even after going up their chain of management, it's clear to me that this this company is not worth it for a small business.
Absolutely great customer service. I own a Steelcase Leap v2 chair that had an issue and this is the service retailer for Dallas area. Susan Barnhart helped me fix my chair and identified the issue correctly - something which the actual Steelcase company couldn't got wrong and estimated that a repair cost upwards of $400 to fix. Their showroom is also very nice and people are knowledgeable and friendly.
UTTER INCOMPETENCE FOR 10 MONTHS
I requested a replacement cylinder for a Steelcase chair in April 2017. The chair is still in production. After 11 months of waiting, calling, e-mailing, stalling and apologies from Mamie and Steve they are giving me the courtesy of refunding the money I gave them 7 months ago. They sent a technician by last week, supposedly with the spares (finally) who not only did not have the correct part, but destroyed my chair trying to insert the incorrect part.....stating "you will not be charged for any labor incurred"
