I hadn't been to this location before and I had a great time eating at the bar. The bartender, Chris I think it was, handled me extremely efficiently even though the bar was almost full. Food was excellent and they had a great selection. I would highly recommend BP and would love to frequent the place.

Not the best food. Service slow. There were 7 of us and people were served all around us. Finally bartender started to assist. Two of us had lasagna and both thought it was dry and not flavorful. Others commented their chicken was fine. The place is lovely though and the bartender was entertaining.

This place needs an update. Update the menu or the way you cook the food. Also, it s great to look for feedback, it s not good to insult the customers. Good and honest reviews are what people are looking for. Notice you received three stars and not one?

Well, this place was kind of a mess. The host sat us at a dirty table, and when we mentioned it was dirty, she glared at us and said "well you can move to another table" and then never cleaned the prior table for other customers. We were given the wrong drinks, put in a corner table where there was really no atmosphere, and our food was simply ok. Not worth paying this much for an "eh" meal.

I paid $30.00 dollars including tip for 1 Pork chop with spinach and mashed potatoes.
The spinach tasted pretty bad and the mashed potatoes were okay. I threw away the spinach and cooked the Pork chop a little more in the microwave. The restaurant is too expensive for what I received. Salt Grass is better and worth the money. At Salt Grass, I had the equivalent of two Pork chops, salad, onion rings, and bread for $20.00 dollars. I had enough food for the next day.

Food was delicious however the server we had was the utmost horrible waiter I ve ever had to encounter . I ve been a server myself and usually give others the benefit of the doubt but from beginning to end he was so disrespectful to my family and I. No drink refills , didn t introduce himself , raised his voice and stormed off when we were still deciding , disrespectful to my grandma and giving her and attitude which really set me off. Shoulder checked my dad and didn t apologize and ignored our table for the duration of the time. This isn t even half of it I thought we were on an Episode of What would You Do but sadly not. Didn t get his name probably for that reason but it was a black guy in his mid 40s . I hope moving forward you hire actual people oriented servers or retrain that one he has no business working with people or any service industry.

Terrible . horrible. Worthless.. had a waiter named matt, found hair in the food, bug in the tea, matt did not inform us about forced gratuity with a Groupon coupon. He was never around, saw matt watching tv and chit chatting with other waiters, never got my glass refilled even though he had been to the table more than once, did not get our cappuccinos which we paid for, manager and server attitude was impeccably terrible. Paid $30 for a plate and I got a very small portion, which for the same price I could get twice as much at a 5 star resteraunts, very over priced, please do yourself a favor and never go. EVER

We came after the opera. The bar was not even half seated. The bartender was coked to the gills. He couldn't even remember to give us menus, nor did he offer them even when I asked if we could eat at the bar. We went and got menus off the hostess stand ourselves. My food never arrived (even when he was the one who made the recommendation and was standing at the computer when he did, and was typing something in...who knows what, it wasn't our order) and my friend's was completely wrong. This was after he came back 10 minutes after we thought he'd placed the order and asked us what we wanted. We needed to eat and get out, so we did.
...
And as he gave us the check, he said "sorry for all the mistakes." I mean...what just happened?
Two stars because the garlic bread was good.

An Italian Irish pub? Well this spot is kinda classy looking and the clientele are also pretty classy looking. This one must be from the old school because the food seems about what was great in the early 90's. Everything was made well and tasted good, it just wasn't quite what you'd expect for the look of the place.
There was a guy playing guitar over a recording, doing some singing too, that fit well with the vibe and made for perfect background music, just enough to note the classics, not enough to disturb conversation.

Let me elaborate a bit more. This location is close to the office and the lunch portions are excellent quality and price. Food arrived quick and piping hot. Way better meal here if you have time to sit as compared to the other fast food tunnel options. Enjoy!

Typically this restaurant is pretty good the few times I've been. I had not been in a year so we went Saturday night. I ordered the grilled white fish and spinach and it was really dry and not seasoned at all. The only taste I tasted was burnt. The spinach was just ok for me. When I told the waiter and asked if they had another fish or chicken that was more moist or had flavor I was told not really. This was disappointing. I gave it another shot and ordered the salmon with spinach. It was ok and had at least some flavor to it, but nothing I had tasted like it use to taste there and by time my new order came out my husband was done eating because it had taken so long.

His chicken parmesan and fettuccine alfredo was quite good to him just as it had been before. Basically they need to learn to do much better on the grill. I normally love this place but this past Saturday I was highly disappointed.

If you're into Irish-Italian fare and a quaint bar atmosphere full of older people this is your place. It caters to a more...distinguished...crowd. It is in close proximity to the Theater district and can make for a great after show drink because of its late night hours of operation. Otherwise I feel like there are better food options in the area, especially for those with dietary restrictions.

Service was great, food was only average. Salad, was good except the waiter offered bleu cheese and brought a vinaigrette. I wanted bleu cheese.
The steak and shrimp appeared very nice but tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp a while. The pasta was warned over tasting.

Just staff was friendly the food was good and honestly I thought it was going to be a lot more pricey when I walked in then what it was. Great value great service. Definite 5 out of 5.

The location, atmosphere, and service are all enjoyable. But on the evening of our visit, the food's freshness and flavors were not bad, but lacking. Our table of four shared each other's dishes, two of which were the day's specials and the other two were recommended, and felt that they all fell short.

One Birraporetti s location two different experiences.

On Sunday, August 30, I decided to visit the downtown location of Birraporetti s. I had been to the Friendswood location twice and had been to the downtown location in the past, and wanted a nice little meal out for myself. It was early evening when I went and, the theaters all being closed to due to coronavirus, had light business.

I was seated promptly when I arrived by a nice waiter named Connor. I ordered one of the sampler appetizers as a full meal with a side of green beans. Connor was very cordial he was attentive, friendly, and down-to-earth. He was the only guy I recall on the serving floor at the time logical given how slow it was. I had a delightful meal and there were no service issues at all.

Figuring I d go for a repeat experience, I visited one week later. Connor was not there. It was a bartender, a waiter, and a bar manager three people. There were four other tables with guests ranging from twosomes to a family of five with young children. I was the fifth table. It was hardly what I would call overwhelming.

I stood at the entry area waiting for someone to seat me. A delivery person was also waiting, ahead of me. He received his order at the bar from the bartender two very large pizzas and left. I, on the other hand, continued to stand, unacknowledged by anyone. After nearly 10 minutes, I decided I would ask the bartender if I was supposed to seat myself (knowing full well that the experience usually has a host, hostess or waiter do it). He gave a hasty apology ( Sorry about that, bro ) and said for me to take a seat at one of the tables with a black tablecloth. At 57 years of age, I don t consider myself a bro - sir would have been just fine.

The waiter was very slow surprisingly slow for a $$ dining establishment. He didn t seem to be there . I m not going to give his name here, but I might in an e-mail to the owner. He wasn t particularly attentive at one point I sought him out to request salt and pepper, but wound up asking the bar manager instead a nice woman named Melanie who seemed to be the only woke one the evening I went.

After my main course arrived, the waiter didn t check up on me for nearly 20 minutes. Also, the dining area which had been pleasantly quiet suddenly piped in satellite radio midway through the meal within the last hour of business.

There was no offer from my waiter to refill my drink, and when I was ready for the check, I motioned to the bar manager, Melanie, to get it for me. The waiter brought it and asked if everything was all right. The FOOD was great was all I could manage. A minute later, the bar manager brought a takeout container with the rest of my spaghetti dinner.

One Birraporetti s location two different experiences. One was good, the other was disappointing. The only thing the two experiences had in common? The food was EXCELLENT. I love Birraporetti s food, and the kitchen has always done a great job on their offerings.

I realize that these are stressful days for many in the service industry. Business is down, and tips are down. I myself have been unemployed since February and still haven t gotten a job offer in my field of information technology. I made the choice to spend some of my pandemic benefits for a nice evening out and got a decidedly mediocre experience, except for Melanie and the food itself. If someone decides to eat out these days, the last thing they want is to go away feeling worse for having gotten substandard service.

I will try this location again at some point, but I will absolutely make sure I go when either Connor is working, or someone else who appears to be on the ball. I know the food will be good. I just want the service to match for what I m spending.

One star is ridiculous! Is there a no star option??!! As a tradition, my family comes here every year before seeing the Nutcracker. I am ALWAYS disappointed!! Food is DISGUSTING and service is horrible! As a former server, I understand you can can get busy but every time we come here the service and over all friendliness of staff is lacking!! We made reservations and were seated right away at a table too small for my family. We were cramped and kept getting bumped into by servers, guests and bussers...not cool! If you are going to charge that much for food service should be in point EVERY TIME and food should WOW you!! I ordered chicken picatta which was a teeny tiny chicken breast with literally a pat of butter, some capers and a squeeze of lemon...not sure where that recipe cane from...certainly not a place charging $16??!! NOT impressed!! So my suggestion: find a great place in Mid Town, like Josephine's, and then park in the Birraporetti's parking garage.... They are good for something!!!!

The only good thing about this place tonight was the service. I know they're "known" for the pizza, but I didn't have pizza, and I regretted it immediately. I got the Shrimp Diablo. Soggy noodles, pretty bland sauce (Diablo? Diab-no...) and the worst part: the shrimp had to have been the frozen ones you get at the grocery, pre-cooked. There was NO effort at seasoning them before they were just dropped into the sauce. Seriously...squishy boiled shrimp diablo. I will never go back here.

Birraporettis was awesome! We attended for a murder mystery dinner tonight that was hosted in the large basement ballroom in Houston, and it was so much fun! The food was amazing and delicious, and the actors who hosted the event, a husband and wife team, did a phenomenal job! Would definitely do this again!

If you like being downtown this is where to go. Even though it was raining & dreary the staff was cheerful & helpful! In this day & age with their tips & work schedules being cut it was a nice surprise to see the personalities that surfaced! Food was good! Job well done!!

I've read all the reviews and it seemed all bad. But last night was amazing. We weren't properly dressed and seemed like thugs coming off the street but we were seated and serviced the same as everyone else. The food was delicious. My husband being a tough critic, was pleased all around. From the appetizer cheese pizza, to the manicotti, to his dessert, and even to the cappuccino at the end of our dinner. To top the whole night off they had a women singing. She sang our wedding song and that was the icing on the cake.

Domingo the bar tender is a friendly reminder of great customer service.

Oh and the food is So so good. Fresh pasts, excellent pizza and a great choice of drinks at the bar. A well deserved place to go after the Astros game with a Midnight closing hour. 5 stars

Once again excellent service. Great good. Spinach Alfredo and the turkey club Savdwhich are awesome.

And the Texas mule drink is awesome as well. I had 3.

We go here with our kids every time we attend the Houston Ballet. Great location with garage parking and easy walking to the Wortham Center. Service is good and food is good, including Sunday brunch. We went today before Sleeping Beauty at the Ballet, and the place was PACKED with Rodeo Parade folks. Even with that, we were seated after only a few minutes and food came out quickly. It would have been really easy for us to get overlooked, but we were very well taken care of, and it was much appreciated!

The Thanksgiving Brunch had an excellent variety of traditional holiday and Italian dishes. The ham was delicious and the desserts were amazing. There was nice crowd but not packed which made the experience even more enjoyable. We'll be back!

Our group meets here on a semi-regular basis and the food is consistently good. I don't remember that anyone had a complaint about the food or service. They usually offer a complimentary dessert if someone is celebrating a birthday or retirement. Biggest problem is lack of street parking and nearby garage is usually mostly full so it's difficult to park nearby. Not the restaurant's fault though. Just a comment.

Boy is this place hit or miss. I ate there twice this week. The first time the service was fine, the food ok and the cocktails tasty. The second time the service was terrible, the gooey food kind of gross and the overpriced cocktail was the worst I ve ever been served. Ever. And both times the huge Hot entree arrived about two minutes after the appetizer or salad was served. They practically set the entree on TOP of the appetizer both times, hitting plates and glasses as they try to squeeze everything onto the table. Completely oblivious.

Not the restaurant it once was. I ll take a big pass on this place in the future.

This was our first time dining here and it was one of our best restaurant experiences, ever. Everything was perfect. There was a short wait but it was worth it. The manager greeted us and was the example of what customer service should be.

The entire staff we encountered were just really nice people. There was great, live music playing softly that really enhanced our visit. The food was excellent. My Steak Medallions were cooked and seasoned perfectly.

We finished our meals with the house made Tres Leches and Tiramisu that'll be talked about for a while, superb. The location is in the heart of the theater district and was really busy due to the time of the year but the service displayed by everyone made us felt welcomed and well taken care of. Definitely a new Houston favorite.

Week two on our alphabet restaurant journey! We choose
Birra Poretti's downtown. (Side note: We have found it is challenging finding a place we have not ate at already.) Jimmy had clams in a red sauce with pasta and for desert white & dark mousse cake, he really enjoyed it. I had, at bartenders suggestion, the pasta with chicken and goat cheese sauce with sun-dried tomatoes. I asked if it was tomato based and was told it was... but it is a cream sauce and I really do not like cream bases sauces. So I did not care for mine too much! I would maybe come back and try one of their red sauce based dishes!

First time here after the late showing nezt door. Over a decade of going to the Christmas Carol we finally decided to check this place out. Beautiful interior and spacious. Not crowded at all. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. Drinks took a while to get, for just wine.. I ordered shrimp diablo. Not spicy at all despite the description on the menu. Friends had steaks. Both said they were delicious and juicy. So that's why the 4 star rating. Not sure if I would return or recommend.

The bread was actualy more Italians than anything else I ate here. My main dish was chicken parm. The pasta was over cooked and unseasoned, chicken was clearly cooked in old oil, and sauce was just bland. Please salt your pasta water! Regular tomatoes would have had more complexity than the sauce. Our server seemed to know the menu was great throughout the evening. There are better ways to get an intimate dining experience than poorly lighting your dining room. Start with good food?
