Zoo with a variety of animals of all species, you can see them very closely and there are activities where you can see from the feeding of Lions to photo with eagles. The trail is ascending the mountain so you have to keep in mind wearing comfortable shoes since it takes approximately 3 hours. Made the tour with children of 5 and 3 years and managed to finish it by making stops to rest a little. Recommended.

It's a beautiful zoo with a great view of Cuenca, sadly i went with an elderly person and my 5 years old child and it was not easy to access. It is a place for hiking and you must be aware that the rain can come any moment...as happened to me. I was stucked there for 2 hours until I decided to go down no matter the mud ...it was challenging as I was worried for my child to fall (btw..she thought it was super fun!). Besides, as soon as the rain started ...there was not one member of the staff around to show the right way to exit.

It is a zoo that in turn is an ecological project in which universities and companies collaborate. Once you start walking it you have to finish it because they are one-way trails. The tour takes two to three hours. Wear sports shoes.

The trails are badly marked, the road full of holes and mud making climbing up or down dangerous. It does not have guides or personnel to help you and since it has an extensive distance, wanting to return becomes a complicated mission. If I had read a true review I would not have gone

Amazing zoo up in the foothills of Cuenca. It is hilly and steep so bring hiking shoes. If its rainy might be muddy and bad. The squirrel monkeys at the restaurant were so funny they stole lots of food from us we had a wonderful time here.

There is a great variety of animals, most of them rescued from abuse. There are many information and environmental conservation notices. Very good place to be in contact with the environment and learn to conserve it.

It is a wonderful place, be careful to keep the Flora and fauna in their habitat, the journey is 3 hours that can be extended depending on the degree of search for the best photography, recommended, wear suitable shoes for mountaineering, a raincoat in case maybe it rains, camera, there is 1 restaurant, halfway and another small sale of water snack snacks, bring water

Good place to visit as a family, the only thing is that the route is somewhat long and it can tire the little ones, the trails at some point are narrow and you have to look well where you walk, it was also a very nice place to visit.

This bioparque is incredible! You are very close to the animals and it's a foundation rather than a typical zoo. I expected to only spend a couple hours there, but we ended up staying for 4 hours. We probably would've stayed much longer if we didn't already have other plans that we were running late for! This is a definite must visit for all ages as long as you are able to walk a fair distance!

You can observe animals
Surprising that I have not seen
Its location is really wonderful since you can see the whole city.
And on its way we can enjoy its flora and fauna.

Very beautiful, the animals very well cared for and are "free" in their habitat. Only take into account that there are more than 12km that you have to walk so I do not recommend it for people or older adults with mobility problems since it is difficult to try to return or do a zoo once they enter.

Pro:
* Excellent Zoo Concept.
* Excellent Guides and presentation. (Birds & Lions)
* Beautiful Animals.

Con:
* NO information about the Physical preparation You must have to attend the visit. The way the road were designed makes people goes up & down through a mountain which demand very good preparation.

* It is not appropriate for OLD PEOPLE, Diabetic, or sick persons

* All roads are very poor, No pavement, NO Cemented ways , NO Handrails.

* There is no any emergency exit in case anybody has an accident.

Excellent place to spend the day with the family, be prepared with comfortable clothes and rubber shoes because the roads are not concrete. It is good that we have such a large zoo here in Ecuador.

A conservationists nightmare! Dead animals and skeletons all over the place. A 2km home through mountain trails. The price was steep.. you d think they d feed the animals more. If you are over 30 you may need medical assistance as you may have a stroke from the hike... oh yeah, don t forget that you have to pay $2 for parking after the fact of admittance.

A very nice and spacious place. Lack of signage It's a 4-hour tour and there's only one stop halfway. You have to go with good clothing because sometimes it rains and the paths become mud, the route becomes a bit difficult.
