Can't thank the team enough for all their patience, coaching and banter! Bikerite are a must if you are at any stage of your biking journey - they took me from CBT all the way to full license, passing each first time! Amazing staff, fantastic facilities and a great way to get out on the road safely and knowledgeably! Thanks guys, you were awesome!

I just passed my full motorbike licence. From my very first ride back in August 2017 till now I think I've worked with every member of the Bike Rite team and everyone was so supportive and each person added to my knowledge and helped me to increase my skills. Ultimately only I can pass the test but without the encouragement and support I got, it would have been way harder. In some ways I'm going to miss my trips over to the training centre but I'm now looking forward to getting out on the road and enjoying the different freedom that my new skill allows me to experience. Many many thanks guys. You did a great job!

I did a CBT course here recently and I had a very enjoyable experience. I have been riding motorbikes off road for a number of years and I had some experience riding so the instructor focused on some little habits I'd picked up and gave me some helpful and constructive criticism. The instructor was very friendly, informative and ensured that we were safe and felt comfortable riding. I'd recommend BikeRite for doing a CBT any day of the week. Thanks!

Just passed my cbt in one day with no prior scooter experience. Derek is a very patient and down to earth instructor just wished I hadn't bought my helmet online before getting his advice.

Recently sat the full Direct Access Course with Bikerite having had no experience on a bike but the CBT. All of the trainers did a great job at developing my riding skill over the course of the training, with a big focus on staying safe and working on skills practical to real-world riding. Anne and the rest of the folks were good fun to learn with and really made me feel relaxed so that I could focus on riding. Thanks Bikerite!

I trained both my CBT and Direct Access to unrestricted motorcycle license here, and I'm very glad I did. The trainers there absolutely knew their stuff and were happy to go through everything and anything I wanted, on both highway code type stuff as well as the riding itself, bike control etc.
I failed part of the CBT first time because I was slightly hungover and my head wasn't fully in it. I didn't think I had done too badly but just goes to show the trainers do keep an eye on you and wouldn't let you pass unless they thought you were definitely ready to ride. Only had to pay a small fee to resit the part as well. Still, had good fun doing it!
I later took the direct access intensive training course over about 4 days (Sat-Wed morn, off on Monday). I learned a HELL of a lot in this time - they are not kidding about the 'intensive'. Trainers not afraid to run you through the ringer when you're making mistakes out on the road - it's a dangerous place to be messing around! Still, had a good laugh with the trainers doing the training though. Tightened up my riding skills massively in this time and now so much more confident for it. They fit in short tune-up sessions e.g. on the afternoons before tests as part of the course and made sure I was ready for the tests. Trained on a Kawasaki er-6n (650cc) and had a great time doing it. Bikes were in good nick despite me dropping them on several occasions during early training!
Would strongly recommend these guys! I'll be speaking with one of the trainers about enhanced rider learning - once I've first had some more fun on my new 535cc machine :)

Done my CBT at Bikeright, Rutherglen, today.
Instructors Stevie and Derek were excellent. Patient, informative, light hearted, and made the day extremely instructive . They were also quick to point out my weaknesses and suggest alternatives. I`m very pleased I chose them, and will possibly do my full test with them soon. Highly recommended.

Hi, I'm sorry I didn't realise I had only clicked one star, I wasn't aware that I had only clicked one star until I looked at my recent visited places on here.
So please accept my apology.
Place was great and the staff were fantastic. Defo recommend to anyone wanting to sit there CBT.

Had an amazing time here, learned alot but also had such a good time, plenty of laughs and the staff are so friendly, make you feel at ease and provide an all round excellent service, I'd highly recommend BikeRite to anyone looking to get on a bike.

Recently passed my A2 licence and would thoroughly recommend BikeRite to anyone looking to get a motorcycle license for themselves. All staff were extremely helpful, knowledgable and patient which contributed to me having a really enjoyable experience. Will definitely be returning to obtain my full A1 licence in the future.

Had my CBT here today, staff were all fantastic, instructor was very friendly and helpful, giving tips and help above and beyond the minimum requirement. Even the weather behaved itself, couldn't have asked for more! Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about getting started on motorcycles.

Signed up for an upgrade course. Mixed experience from having good bikes and tired of their job instructors. Upon asking anything would give you "because I said so" attitude. Oh yeah and "Because you clearly cannae read the British signs" - is now a valid answer. Do not recommend.

EDIT:

I did indeed fail mod 2 because I have not noticed national speed limit sign and was going slower than expected on a country road, however I blame myself for doing so, DVSA examiner was great at explaining what could be improved and giving me really helpful feedback. Nevertheless, this review is only inspired by the approach and "Inappropriate manner" you're given once you pay for the lessons at this school.

P.S have to give credit for their CBT instructors, 2 of my friends had gone and both very happy.

Excellent training facility to learn CBT at. They took you through the course properly, teaching all the elements of how to do the CBT. Very professional and patient instructors but also know when to have a laugh, they want to see you pass/do well. I not only learned how to ride a motorcycle but I had a lot of fun as well. Everyone will make mistakes, that's a part of learning, they are interested in seeing you learn from your mistakes and get into good habits.

Just had an amazing day doing my CBT. Had Stevie instructing us and he was fantastic. Everything was explained very clearly so I knew exactly what I was doing. Thanks a lot guys, I shall be back to further my training and get my full license.

Patient and professional instruction from a very accommodating rider training school. Thanks especially to Fraser and Anne. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn to ride a motorbike.

I have been to 2 other motorcycle training schools (for my first and refresher CBT) in the north of scotland and this school is on par with the other places. I failed my first mod 2 test but they happily booked me back in to give it another go at my chosen test centre. The guys here are great and after doing several days training with them they had warmed to you and had even given me a nickname. It was a genuinely great experience and wouldnt hesitate to go back and do my full A licence in 2 years. They were genuinely happy to see students pass and wished us the best of luck out on the roads as newly qualified riders.

Overall was good but I had trouble with my bike not switching gears properly while the instructor said it was ok, which was clearly not.

The staff was great but clearly the owner is not investing enough into the place.

I would thoroughly recommend BikeRite having myself gone from a complete 43 year old motorbike novice to having just passed my A2 licence in c5 months.

The training and support from all the trainers and Anne was superb. I followed their training advice to allow me to pass the tests luckily first time. Their sole aim is to make you a safe biker but in a timescale that is practical for all and without rushing you.
Thanks again guys :)

I recently passed my A2 licence with Bikerite and would recommend them to anyone. The guys really know their stuff and do everything they can to get you riding safely. There's always time for a laugh as well which makes things easier.
Will be back in a few years for help with my full licence.

Having done my CBT elsewhere previously, many years ago, I found BikeRite to be much more professional, thorough and FUN than the other training provider I used.

I did my CBT over three days - one full day CBT, a road run/extra training on the pad, and another road run this morning. I am a slow learner and I really appreciate the patience shown during this whole process - Derek was brilliant on the road runs and Stevo turned this wee ball of anxiety into a human being enjoying being on a bike on the pad.

They're also super cost effective re getting people back in for extra training and Ann is super organised and encouraging / generally lovely.

Cannae recommend BikeRite enough and will definitely go back for any further training with them!

Booked the DAS course and whilst it was an intense 3 days (followed by the 4th day for tests) it was very much worth it. I'm not from the area but the instructors were super helpful in pointing out all the local roads and what tends to happen on them (congestion in certain lanes or places where people tend to merge without looking!). Booked both Mod 1 & 2 for the same day and whilst it was a stressful whirlwind of a day I passed both! Super chuffed! Thanks to Anne for the positive vibes and organising everything, Ed for the first 2 days teaching and Derek for the second 2 days teaching (and slight tour guiding!). Lovely bunch who just want to see you do well!

Thanks very much to these Guys outstanding group of instructors and a very friendly bunch, from never riding a bike before to sitting my CBT and now having passed my A licence all within the course of 3 months i can definatley say they are worth it. The knowledge and the effort the guys go to to help you pass is excellent, i will be recommending anyone who asks me about it to visit these guys. and all in the Value for money was good to, competitive rates and in some cases cheaper than elsewhere. Thanks again guys ill see you soon as i take on the Advanced riders course.

Choosing to complete my full DAS (direct access scheme) with BikeRite was an obvious choice from the start. From my first inquiry until my last visit on the day of the test passed the whole service and experience was fantastic and exactly what I required and expected from a riding school.
The instructors were firm, patient and fair with great personalities and a good sense of humour. The motorcycles were nearly new, well maintained and a joy to ride and the communication with admin could not have been easier. Big shout out to all the staff and recommend fully to those with a passion for two wheels. I'll be sure to visit again some day !

Be very careful here with Admin Office...... you agree a price on the phone but they change it when you arrive and then only got refund when I spoke to Citizens Advice... Further because they issued refund eventually they have not allowed me to resit the test at the agreed lower rate so I have to go back to citizens advise about that!.....no problems with instructors.. as I said at start just beware and I have full emails as proof if required

Dear BikeRite......Your response is wrong and understandable that you are trying to protect your business but I can guarantee 100% that happened in my case and would be willing to send my notes to Google for independent verification - I am not in the habit of posting such review ... Please do not hide behind the truth!

Thank you very much guys

Everything you need to get your license, completed my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 with bikerite. I found all the instructor extremely adapt and friendly. I completed the 4 days course which was very easy to arrange with bikerite being extremely flexible to fit you in for lessons and exams. I'd advise anyone looking for a license to go no further, especially for the price.

Recently conducted a review of learner motorcycle ...

Recently conducted a review of learner motorcycle trainers in the Glasgow area by taking trial three-hour lessons. BikeRite came out reasonably well. They ve got a small but decent yard in Rutherglen laid out with cones and lines, and they use trusty Honda CG125s for training. Prices are competitive and the instructors are friendly and helpful. The only downsides were the toilet facilities dingy and unkempt and the radio communications gear: yet again those frightful PMR446 radios that are so hard to make out while on the go, due to poor quality and interference mostly, aligned to bulky earpieces that are murder to wear inside a helmet. It was extremely hard to decipher what the instructor was saying while out on the road. Then again, it seems that most motorcycle training schools use the PMR446 radio system and I cannot say that BikeRite s was any worse than the best I ve encountered. Meanwhile, I reckon that the DSA should ban PMR446 for motorcycle training. The system is just not up to the job. Otherwise, if you live in Glasgow, BikeRite is probably worth a punt.

Great place to learn. Patient guys with clearly lots of experience. They don't mince their words, but nor they should: biking is a dangerous pursuit if you don't learn correctly. I went from no qualifications right through to unrestricted with not too much fuss. Recommended.

I sat my CBT, Mod 1 & Mod 2 with Bike Rite recently and passed all three tests first time - Mod 1 with no faults and Mod 2 with only 4 minor faults. This shows the caliber of the lessons in my opinion.

I was out with Ed, Jim & Stevie over my time learning and although all three have different styles of teaching, all three were brilliant and i learned something new each time i went out. All the staff i spoke to were always friendly, enthusiastic and willing to help out in any way possible.

I would highly recommend Bike Rite whether you're a novice, like i was, or have experience on a bike already - the day after i passed my test i felt confident enough to buy a bike and ride it over 100 miles from Oban to Glasgow.

I had never sat on a bike before i did my CBT and didn't know what to expect, at first i found the bike intimidating and was worried it was going to shoot out from under me, I appreciate everything that BikeRite taught me. Basic stuff like how to put the bike on its stand the correct way still helps me everytime i park my own bike, clutch control, changing gears, indicators and even basic bike maintence was shown to me in a way i understood and I now feel confident and safe when im driving my bike, thanks for your patience whilst teaching me, i am now enjoying my own motorbike very much, it doesnt seem so big and intimidating anymore.

Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff at bikerite.

Anne in the office always keeping my dates and time right (writing them down so I don't forget) always encouraging me and being so positive .

Over the past year I passed my CBT then mod 1 & 2. Think i have worked with most of the instructors over the year who made me feel relaxed, especially when it comes to test time, they worked closely with me at specific area I didn't feel as confident on and gave me the best guidance to succeed .

I always felt supported and could see my improvment everytime i was there. You guys rock

I defiantly would recommend them 100%.

Thanks again.

Amazing service and excellent instructors!

After having a horrible experience at Phoenix, I rebooked my CBT with bike rite and I am so happy that I did.

Professional service with the best staff! The instructor was reassuring, positive and incredibly knowledgeable.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough! I have other family planning to do their CBT and 100% they will be booking with bike rite.

Great pace all day, exciting and interesting drills. The on road experience was great, felt really secure and had full confidence in my instructor.

You deserve the highest praise.
Thank you for showing me what a real CBT is!

Recently completed Mod 1 and Mod 2 bike tests with BikeRite and had also previously sat my CBT with them. Instructors know their stuff and have a good relaxed teaching technique. I would highly recommend BikeRite to anyone interested in gaining their CBT or full bike license.

Very friendly staff, from calling up to sitting your actual CBT the entire process was a breeze.

The group of people I was in ranged from an old retired engineer who had never ridden a motorbike to a bus driver to myself a 10 year motorcycle veteran and the staff managed to cater to all of us without any hassle.

I would definitely return there for more training in the future.

Didn't rate this place at all, booked CBT showed up, 2 of us had never been on a bike before, the rest were renewing their CBT (experienced riders) the instructor was only interested in working with these guys. Wouldn't recommend this place if you've never been on a bike before.

Excellent cant praise them enough , Anne in the office is very helpful and full of encouragement, the instructors I had, Stevie and Fraser were great fun to be with, as instructors go I don't think I could have had better.

Bikerite were amazing, having never been on a bike before we went from cbt through to mod 2 with first time passes. Excellent training, excellent staff. Couldn't rate their service highly enough. We spent most of our course with Derek who's absolutely brilliant. Quality instruction, really chilled and is always cracking jokes. 10/10

I had been using other 2 other biking schools but ...

I had been using other 2 other biking schools but the test dates they were giving me back in September, were 1 month away, and i knew the weather was just going to get worse before then. I managed to get a short notice mod 2 test but neither of the other schools were available on the day/time i required so i could calm my nerves, as i already have my own cbf125. I called Bikerite they had space, but it was a little more expensive, even though i had my own bike. - ok i thought.

On the day it was absolutely soaking wet, with very heavy rain, so much so that i wondered if my test would actually go ahead. the instructor was late coming back with the previous lesson, as they'd run for cover i think. It cleared up a bit & they returned.

the instructor and i spoke a little to find out where i was/ what i was looking for from the lesson, as seeing it was just me on that full 2hrs lesson i was able to get a bit more focus than normal (was used to being 1 of 2/3 sometimes 4 with other schools) we went out practiced a few of my weak spots, got some advice from him as i was riding etc. and i felt ready for the pass afterwords, given the instructor had all of his non personal riding focus on me.

Sadly a silly error resulting in a broken arm (and a&e/physio etc) failed me later that day, but ive passed since, still not 100% healed up ;).

It wasn't my first time completing the CBT, and this was by far more comprehensive than my previous training. Done in a covid safe manner. Steve was my instructor and made everything very clear and easy to understand for those who have never even sat on a bike of any size. Full team are great. Wish I could rate them 6 stars

Take a minute to read this if you are taking your CBT, especially if you are a novice. I have tried BikeRite AND another MAJOR Glasgow school and I cannot express enough how different the two experiences were.

I can't recommend BikeRite enough and if you want the BEST training for the CHEAPEST price then please read on...

Firstly, if you are a beginner, make sure you have realistic expectations. Everything I had looked at seemed to suggest that you turn up for the day and then get your certificate. Some people will even have arranged to pick up their new bike later that day! BOTH schools I used stressed that the reality is it is very likely that you may need to return to your school for a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th day. This isn't a reflection on the school OR on you and I will openly admit that one day would NEVER have been enough for me to head out on the road on a bike, no matter what school I used.

I passed my car test first time, I passed my PCV test first time, and I am also a train driver and a locomotive driver! So I am good at picking up new skills. But learning a bike has the same technical requirements as learning to drive a car, therefore it is SO important that you get the right school and that you don't put too much pressure on yourself.

So be aware that you may need more than one day which immediately makes you worry about costs, or whether your school is just trying to get more money out of you???

So my first comparison is on costs...
Don't just ask how much the cbt will be, ask how much any follow up training would be, if required.

So, whether you get your CBT on one day, or need more, BikeRite are the cheapest I've come across.

But what about the training? Well I can't stress this enough but BikeRite are head and shoulders above in their training.

The first school I used had a series of skills/ manoeuvres that you had to do. If you managed it first time, you'd move onto the 2nd move. If you didn't, you'd literally be feeling under pressure right away as they said they only had time to try each skill 3 or 4 times at most and couldn't hold others back! If you managed it you'd be moved onto the next skill even though you'd had no opportunity to actually master any skills before moving onto the next. There was NO practise. After an hour and a half I was told that I wouldn't be ready to do the 2 hour road drive at the end of the day (which I agreed with) so that was my day over! I just wanted to PRACTISE a bit but that was my cbt 'day' finished. Less than 2 hours of 'training'.

In summary, Ann and the team really make you feel welcome and care about your experience. Save money, get better training, and have more fun! Don't take the risk elsewhere.

Went to bikerite for my CBT today and I've got to say the guys were really great. Very knowledgeable, professional and great teachers, with an emphasis on safety (as it should be). I'll 100% use Bike Rite for the next stage of my motorcycle training and urge others considering gaining their bike license to do the same.
