For the price, it wasn't quite worth it. The sea urchin tasted funky and not fresh. Everything else was good, but it didn't blow my mind. Unmemorable
I will always love this place. Great menu. Lots of classics and plenty of new options as well.
They serve big dishes and for fair rates. very friendly employees. Keep up the good work.
Excellent sushi. Highly recommend the Rainbow Roll. The Diablo Roll was actually pretty spicy but not too hot to handle. Our waiter, Daniel, provided superior service! The Kumamoto oysters are probably one of the best items on their delicious menu.
Great sushi. Delicious. Really really good. We recommend. The happy hour price is good.
This is a great little sushi place but the couple I met at the sushi bar made the whole night! They hooked me up with the good stuff. You know who you are! Lol.
Great Sushi. We love sitting at the Bar for Happy Hour. Lauren is the Best behiend the bar. Lots to choose from on Happy Hour Menu.
Sushi is fresh and the atmosphere is energetic. A popular local restaurant with a patio and silent movie screen. They also have a happy hour menu.
This Venice hot spot lived up to its hype. Ambience is nothing fancy but the interior has midern touches. My spicy tuna rolls was flavorful and the vegetsbke tempura was crisp. The dinner menu has many selections and there is a sushi menu too. Yummy fried green tea ice cream. Still tasting it weeks later. Service was pretty good but could have been better. Took quite some time for everyone at our table to be served altogerher. If you are in Venice and have a taste for sushi, take a stroll to Windward circle. Inside and outsude seating. Public parking lots, metered street parking for 1 hour only. Masks required.
Probably one of the better sushi options in the area (unfortunately) - big menu and his all the standards but the sushi was a bit bland.
Great sushi place and very laid back. Went here with my team at work for lunch and had a great time
They truly Lost their Community Spirit for being the "Go-To Sushi Restaurant!"
***NOW...Worst Service & Mediocre Sushi!
They should be trying Harder during this trying time!
Food was amazing! Very cozy restaurant and great staff.
Wow just got take out and it was great. Super fresh huge flavors. Yum. They had a huge bottle of hand sanitizer to keep it safe and had 10% off. So get take out and I will be there after this lock down.
The food is good, and the service is generally good as well. I only gave 4 stars because the last time I went the hostess was extremely rude. Take out from Hama is good too, so there's always that option.
Nice food, waitress gave us the worst service. Not coming back, they only have one waitress for an entire area and food takes forever to arrive to the table. I got my mochi Ice cream, melted. Thank you
Underwhelming taste for the price but atmosphere somewhat makes up for it.
Bad customer serivce the girl in front is rude and gives you nasty faces and when "maia" gave me my food when i went to pick up she was rude as well and my food wasn't ready and had to wait 20mins more , never again ordering there ,but the food was good! just serivce is really bad !
Great food, highly recommend the udon, salmon teriyaki and vegetable gyoja. got a splinter from the chopsticks though
Established in 1979, traditional Japanese sushi restaurant. Casual but authentic. The variety of fish and sake, using good steamed rice. They import some fish from Tokyo Tsuiji directly. One of sushi chef is Japanese / Sushi restaurant founded in 1979. Casual but delicious. There are plenty of sushi fish and sake, and the crispness is also good. I heard that it was airlifted from Tsukiji. There is a Japanese pre-birth.
A great easy going place for sushi new comer.......
The steak specialty rolls we ordered were yummy, wait on a Friday night was short, outside seating was mostly full when we arrived.
Fantastic bartender, she takes great care of you happy hour or not!
A Venice staple. Date night, sushi with the kids, coworkers after work. Above quality sushi.
Some of the best tasting sushi I've had in the venice area. Definitely would recommend to anyone about this place. $$
Not super impressed, food was decent but not amazing. Bar tender had a foul attitude and she was caught up in talking with some old man instead of helping the large amount of waiting people. Overall not terrible but there is a lot of room for improvement in many areas especially for the prices and fact that there's no parking
A real fun place to hangout. It's not the highest end place I've been to, but it's easy and chilled. Lots of people watching.
You can find better sushi someplace in Los Angeles, but you won't find better ambience or vibe. This place is quintessentially Venice, they project surf videos on the back of the bar and their happy hour is killer. If gentrification takes this place, we riot.
Busy spot with a great Happy Hour from 4-7. Note: only available at the bar counter and seats fill up fast! Trendy spot!! Spicy Scallop Roll is oh so yummy.
Some of the best sushi I've had in years. The Sea Perch special was amazing.
Hamas is the place. Always go off the special menu. And, always get the spicy roll with red tobiko on top. Cant remember what its called... Even though I get it every time.
Been going to Hama for decades, and it s always a great mix of a lively atmosphere, good sushi and a good drinks. The dynamite (sauce) dishes, collar, oyster shooters and bamboo sake and perennial winners.
Really great all around. Delicious food, fantastic service, amazing drinks, & cool t-shirt too!
Fresh sushi, great bartenders and excellent happy hour. Loved sitting at the bar clearly full of the locals with a bartender who kept the conversation and the flow of the happy hour moving
i can understand change of ownership, but change of quality? no thanks
One of our group had food poisoning from undercooked chicken.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. The presentation of the chefs and servers is all part of the experience, so fun to watch! Everything on the menu is fairly priced in my opinion, though I will say that the specialty rolls are a bit pricey. The taste is worth trying at least one to share if you're splitting the bill with a friend.
Mediocre sushi and extremely expensive. A really bad combination. Nice staff, but poor food and overpriced.
Good rolls. Friendly service in an open atmosphere.
I have been coming here for years. I cannot find the variety of rolls and selection of rate Japanese beers anywhere else.
Legitimately good. I got the Venice Roll, and it honestly didn't blow my mind, but it was still solid. My friend got the surf and turf and it was DANK. Slightly pricey.
When I went to this restaurant, there were already a lot of people. I sat at the bar enjoying hot sake and draft beer. You might feel that sushi is pricey. However, everything I had was delicious and staffs were so kind and frinedly. Tony, who is a manager, was kind and nice.
Hama Is my favorite sushi place in all of LA, my wife's family has been going there for 30 years tonight we sat for 47 minutes without getting our sushi ... We walked out hungry when we realized the overmatched sushi chef hadn't even started on our order....we were there with our 2 year old daughter....I can't blame the waitress she was pretty pleasent and trying hard, but the manager was totally unhelpful and unfriendly when we needed help and the tall sushi chef was just chatting everyone up at the bar taking his sweet time all night, so sad we had such a terrible experience at such a special place for us....miserable night I hope they improve
Who do I have to be for you to NOT MOVE ME IN THE MIDDLE OF MY DINNER?? And to top it off: this bish accused me of trying to leave without paying - I should have vomited on her floor,
Decent quality maki - wrapped in a lot more rice than I'm used to!
If you like sushi sashimi and special rolls and that a good sushi chef serves you this is the place.
Great sushi and a good crowd. I would recommend the Yummy Roll and the Green Dragon Roll. The downside of Hama Sushi is that it can be a bit pricey.
Try green dragon... or red dragon if you can handle extra spicy.
Really good sushi with very interesting combinations and specialties. Definitely try the spicy tuna on crispy rice cakes appetizer. Don't expect fanciest restaurant, but the food is worth it.
The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was amazing and the restaurant was clean and cozy.
I am a Postmates driver and I waited for 45 minutes to pick up an order that was placed when I was already 15 minutes away. Was not offered a drink or anything while I was waiting. I was there for so long, I saw couples come in and out ( so I'm assuming that it is a good date spot) and saw over a dozen delivery drivers come and go only waiting about 5 minutes. I guess it's your choice whether you want to roll the dice or not, but this is my first time here and I hated it
I loved dining at this low-key but solid Japanese restaurant that had a great selection of both cooked and sushi options. My colleague and I dined at the sushi bar and enjoyed our meal which consisted of generous portions of avocado roll (solid), chicken yakitori (yum), gyoza (pretty good, but a little bland), udon and a dragon roll. The drinks are large and strong, the staff friendly and the vibe pleasant.
Bonjour, I had dinner outside in the patio with comfortable COVID-19 protocols in place. Lovely evening with 3 girl friends. The service was excellent and the owner Esther delightful. The food fresh and beautifully presented. Bakes mussels, asparagus, blue crab roll, yellowtail roll, shishito peppers( These are a must try) jalapeno yellowtail and the yummy roll. I am a local and totally enjoy Hama Sushi and highly recommend dinner there soon.
This restaurant is fantastic. The waitresses are very friendly and they make you feel at home.
The food is wonderful, the portions are decent and the price is great. Thank you.
A little above average food and service. Not my favorite atmosphere. The tables were pretty cramped and the decor was awkward. But it was pretty busy over by the bar so they must have had good happy hour. I'd go back if someone wanted to go but I wouldn't seek it out.
Good place for sushi in Venice, good selection, quite pricey though.
Delicious food, attentive service, unpretentious atmosphere.
This place was delicious! And they play movies on a projector while you're eating! They do have happy hour specials everyday BUT you have to sit at the bar. They only apply there. Overall cool place!
