Liddy de Giacomo Review of Bike-Rite

Recently conducted a review of learner motorcycle trainers in the Glasgow area by taking trial three-hour lessons. BikeRite came out reasonably well. They ve got a small but decent yard in Rutherglen laid out with cones and lines, and they use trusty Honda CG125s for training. Prices are competitive and the instructors are friendly and helpful. The only downsides were the toilet facilities dingy and unkempt and the radio communications gear: yet again those frightful PMR446 radios that are so hard to make out while on the go, due to poor quality and interference mostly, aligned to bulky earpieces that are murder to wear inside a helmet. It was extremely hard to decipher what the instructor was saying while out on the road. Then again, it seems that most motorcycle training schools use the PMR446 radio system and I cannot say that BikeRite s was any worse than the best I ve encountered. Meanwhile, I reckon that the DSA should ban PMR446 for motorcycle training. The system is just not up to the job. Otherwise, if you live in Glasgow, BikeRite is probably worth a punt.
