Update after a year...
I wrote the below comment a year ago. Today I have to say that even though the ginger has dramatically improved, the selection of sushi is a bit bad. 80% of the plates are spicy something, whats not spicy is shellfish. There js not a good selection of non spicy non shellfish options. As a person who is allergic to shellfish is a bit disappointing and I only have a spicy option. But the issue is General at All Big Y. Not only here. Whatever company that does it its not good at variety.
But as a grocery store, THIS IS MY TO GO PLACE. i love you guys
..................
sushi is always fresh but I would just make a small suggestion. We all know by know that you have making the ginger in house.. can we make the pieces smaller so i dont have to eat a 3 inch by 1 inch sheet of ginger with my small roll?????

I live on Texas, stopped in when I was in Chicoper, MA.
I remember the original Big Y in Willimansett, MA when I was growing up. I lived on Rivers Ave.
They have really grown into a major food store.

Very clean store and well organized but the cashier wasn't very friendly and the lady that was bagging my groceries was just throwing my groceries in my bags however she liked and when I approached her about it, she gave me a dirty look and goes "What". Looks like she needs to learn how to bag people's groceries the correct way!

Big Y SuperMarket have his perks! The best ever, beginnig with the Kids Club where they take care of the kids while you are shooping how cool is that. Today I saw a display of fruits for free yes for free! For children up to 12 yrs old. The flower shop have plenty of options to choose from and not only that they offer services for wedding arrangements. Big Y has comfortable aisles for make your shopping experience as best as possible can be. The meat area has plenty to choose from and fresh!!! I love also the mini Cafeteria they have with pizza, chicken BBQ, etc. Overall is very clean and the products are accesible. At the time you go to the cashier they staff knowledge their customers in a nice pleasant manner and are fair enough fast.

Always clean and orderly. There are quiet places to sit to consume some of the prepared foods offered such as pizza, soup, sandwiches, or sushi. I rarely have trouble finding what I need in stock unless it's towards the end of a Buy One, Get Two free item on sale for the past week.

This is the best (in my opinion) Grocery Market store-chain in the local, Western Massachusetts vicinity. Perhaps, one of the best in the immediate area. It's family oriented as could ever be, they have taken to extreme precautions during the COVID-19, and considered a customer-friendly experience for all, including safety and safety of staff. Dinner deals here are usually good as there would be many sales on a regular basis. You can't exactly go wrong here. Much healthier than fast food counterparts.

Good.

Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Me and my mom just got back and were usually known to get bad looks from employees (Were Puerto Rican) but today I've had it. Me and my mom were just checking out and the cashier just gave us dirty looks. Didn't say a single word to my mom and she even smiled at him and asked how his day was but he didn't even talk to her! And at the bagger, I smiled but he didn't smile back and didn't say a word. He even looked disgusted with me!!! As soon as he was done he quickly went to the next person and smiled at them (They were white) and perfectly greeted them. I've seen this happen to several costumers who were of color. Were NEVER shopping there again. DISGUSTING!

Nice store, but like ALL Big Y markets, ridiculously over priced. Get your meat at Arnold's right up the street and save a fortune. Gas stations have cheaper gallons of milk, that should say something. Their "sale" prices make things average priced.

Not much other options in the area, the bakery is good, there selection is wide, so it gets some points there.

Honestly I'd rather spend the extra $20 in gas and drive an hour to the nearest Market Basket, fill up the car with bags of food and save well over $200... But if you don't have the time or energy to do that, this isn't a BAD place to shop. Just.. Overpriced
