The water park is fun as long as you don't eat or drink anything from the park. Keep a cooler In your car, but as far as customer service goes, they are all highschool kids and it's basically impossible to find an actual adult to talk to. The management is MIA almost always, and the young kids in the blue shirts are just "supervisors" and there's not much they are willing to do to take care of an actual problem. If you're willing to put up with the nonsense, it's possible to have fun here.

This place is so fun!! The food is ridiculously expensive lol, but the park is great! :) There are different rides to fit every type of person, and the wading pool is great for kids to play in.

I had the worst experience. They advertise that they have 40 slides/attractions, but there are only 11. Out of the 11 slides, 3 of them were not opened. When we questioned why the slides were not opened, we were told that they open later on in the day, yet we paid over $80 (this is with a military discount). The staff member stated that there was a sign up that stated all rides were not open, but this was not true, there were no signs. We went to customer relations and were treated very rudely by the staff members, as well as the manager. The very rudely stated they would not give a refund or discount, as well as, showed no empathy. Save your time and your money. Very over priced!!

The price of admission is really high. It cost $200 for two adults my 12 & 4 year old daughters. Then we had to pay $5 to park, and walk a long distance to the entrance, then another $13 to rent a locker. We decided to try the lazy river, but guess what? No tubes! We waited at one of the exits for other swimmers to get out and hand us their tube, but when they got out they kept their tubes. We were there for 5 hours and we were never able to snatch up a tube. There were long lines of people waiting to grab tubes. I saw grown "Men" cutting in front of kids and pushing kids out the way to grab a tube. It was crazy! Here is an idea. When someone gets out, take their tube. I saw people hoarding 6 tubes in a cabana, and no one was using them. None of it made sense. If I return I plan on bringing my own pump, and I will inflate and deflate tubes as I need, and store them in my locker when not in use. With the amount of money you spend, you would think they could afford more tubes.

Overly crowded and overpriced for what you get. The concrete was so hot that you couldn't even walk on it. But then there were areas that were fine to walk on. I left with blisters on my feet from the hot concrete. And where were the 40 attractions? I couldn't find them and a few were closed down. I asked for a drink with no ice and they only filled it up halfway. And then you get charged for parking on top of the exorbitant prices? No thank you.

I normally do not do this, but was a major disappointment!! 1st the open an close dates on there site is not accurate.. 2nd they did have a sign posted on the day we was there that they was working on 2 slides an they would not be open.. However they did not let us know due to lack of lifeguards that alot more slides an water area would not be open. The park was out of control they allowed to many in that day an it was awful the lines were bad for waiting times at least 30 min a slide it was very dirty in the water the lazy river was nasty an we paid for a family of 4 over 200 dollars 1st an last trip here forsure!!!

We have season passes(4) very reasonable pricing, family oriented, life guards along with Lead guards are very helpful in all situations. My son got sunscreen in his eyes, they took him into the first-aid room, washed his eyes out with little cups, he was ready to swim in just a few minutes! My older son, loves to do the Half Pipe, surfing, after the park closes at 6, 630 the gates open, you pay $10, until 9, and surf all you want! He gets great practice time. We never experienced long lines, but we mostly go during the week days, sometimes we go on a Saturday, it can more crowded, but never top crowded! Have fun and Enjoy

Complete waste of money. They charge as if they are a high rate water park. Very rude employees. Do not waste your time. I am a local and used to enjoy this water park but not anymore. If you are visiting just take the extra 45 minutes and drive to panama city and go to shipwreck island. Read the other reviews and make the right choice to go elsewhere.

My favorite rides were closed but the lines where short for 4th of July. Food was good but the lines took a half an hour for four people in front of us. The cashier lady left twice. The first time she came back in ten minutes so our line wasn't even moving. Finally she came back but left again. We were at the front for another ten minutes. But a cashier, named Brian, decided to step up and handle two lines at once. We would have waited another hour if he did nothing to help. Brian was working at the cafe next to the hill. He was the only person who knew what he was doing. I hope they open up the long tube ride.

We get season passes every year! The kiddos have a great time. We've never felt unsafe on their rides and have witnesses a responsive staff if they feel others are potentially acting dangerously. Fun for kiddos AND adults.

Expensive so get the season pass. The Halloween rip off was kinda lame as it had effort but it missed the fundamentales for a haunted house. They sell sunscreen for like 14 bucks and it'll cover 2 people so dont forget it. The tube rides was tedious as it was imposible to not get stuck, so half the ride is trying to actually ride it. Food was bland as hell.

The only reason for the 4 stars was when we went they did not have the whole park open. The overall experience was a good one. We will be back next summer. Also, the daiquiris was not worth the price water down.

Don't go. This place will be no fun...for me and my family if you show up and make the lines longer! Bad jokes aside, this place is fantastic. Even with some rides closed for COVID, there are still lots of good rides. Staff is friendly and attentive. The park was nice and clean. Come out and support this fun place so it will stay open year after year for all of us to enjoy.

My kids, ages 5 and 3, had a great time. However, they also have a great time at the local splash pad for $5/person. The cost for our family to enter was over $200. For that price, I expect excellent customer service and attention to safety, which is absolutely NOT what you will find at Big Kahuna s. Upon entering, the staff at the gate were very apathetic about checking our bags (and likely their jobs in general) which thankfully allowed us to sneak in our own snacks and water, as the food offerings in the park are pretty terrible (funnel cakes, fries, pizza). Once inside, we discovered that we would have to traverse 100+ stairs with the stroller for our 6 month old in order to access the main area for younger children, Buccaneer s Cove. I get that it s a water park so of course there will be stairs, but the fact that there wasn t a ramp to access the area of the park most likely to be used by families with infant siblings in strollers seemed like a huge oversight. In Buccaneer s Cove, the lifeguards were plentiful but often inattentive or unengaged. On multiple occasions I was the only person with eyes on my children. The area in front of the stairs to access the the slides is extremely slippery, which I discovered as I was following my older children while holding my baby and fell hard, thankfully with no injury to my infant son, only to myself. I received only a casual are you ok? from a lifeguard. Other people continued to fall throughout the day. When I brought it to the attention of the management that there should at least be a sign, it was clear he was uninterested in my experience and what I had to say and nothing would be done about the situation. I m glad my kids had fun, but I have a hard time paying that much money to an establishment that blatantly cares so little for customer experience and safety.

Drive 6 hours to get to destin because online it said it was open and we had two days out of the four we were here planned to go the park but it isn t open until after Easter. Maybe be a little smarter and put that on the website

Kids liked the water park. Putt putt was horrible. The lighting was poorly placed. We couldn't see most of the holes. The adventure side is open even though it looks closed. I thought it was closed all week, when we asked about it, they turned on the lights, let us ride once and shut it all down. Making it looked closed again. Very disappointed in the putt putt, wish we would have gone somewhere else. Waste of money and huge let down.

They call it largest water park in Destin but it s a very small water park than what we have in texas, also pricey. Any child above 4.8 will pay full price so kids average 7 years will pay full price. We paid $200 for 4 regular tickets. Nothing was wow here. The moment you enter you will be excited to get into that lazy river tube but you have to go at the bottom to pick the tubes by your self from the river no employees to collect and stack the tubes. The river was slippery and uneven at few places, I tripped and hurt my legs. Also beware of a slide where you will be thrown in 6.5 ft pool at the bottom of the slide and you are suppose to swim to get out. Omg why was there no signs that specifies what to expect at bottom. Why in the world any water park slide needs a deep pool at the bottom. The employee softly warned something about bottom which wasn t audible. When I asked at my turn she said the pool is 6.5 half deep. I was terrified and took my 9 year old away from the slide. And my husband who was waiting for us informed that a boy in 20 s was drowning and lifeguard pulled him. WTH is this. Wave pool was good. Lazy river gets congested and tubes get stuck so many times at different places. It was stressful for so many. Employees don t help to push them further. Not worth the money. Be prepared to spend on food and drinks inside as well

Well, their are new owners who clearly do not know how to run a business. I own several myself and would NEVER treat my customers this way.

1st. The season passes are gone. I come all the way from Alabama normally and purchase season passes. Yesterday we arrived and were told they no longer offer season passes AT ALL. It's not worth a 2 hour drive if I'm paying about $250 each time for my family to enjoy the park. They should have made that known on their website before I wasted my money.

2nd. 1/3rd of the park was closed but they were still charging the public full price despite the fact that a large fraction of the park is closed.

3rd. The employees were RUDE! I spent another almost $80 on 5 Hamburger meals and 3 free refill drinks. That was fine. Until.... I go to get a free refill and one of the girls at the counter tells me I bought a Green cup. Green cups are $2 refills, and red ones are free refills. I explain to her that I asked for and paid for a free refill cup. She and the 2 other young women then choose to ignore me for 10 minutes. I then politely ask what they are going to do about this and she rudely respond with " We will wait for you to get those $2 I told you to get " I ask for a manager. The blonde lady who came to speak with me was wonderful. I explained to her the issue and she informs me that they dont sell free refill cups at all anymore. She refills my drinks and apologizes. All the while these 3 trashy young women are laughing begind the counter and scoffing at us both. 2 more people walked up wanting free refills that didnt exist while I was waiting

Huge disappointment..if they dont fix these issues we will not return

It's aight. Very confusing compared to Shipwreck as to where to go to get on rides. It is much more compact because they don't have the land Shipwreck does. Wave pool is very small. Overall experience is decent. Every park has it's pros and cons but this park is pretty good and we had a fun day. Might could give more stars if more of the rides were open. Due to Covid-19 some of the attractions are closed.

Just don t go! Not clean at all!!!! We went at night and you couldn t see the holes whatsoever, it was more frustrating than fun. Also, could use an exterminator on the property. Extremely disappointed.

They boast of being the biggest water park on the emerald coast but Shipwreck Island in Panama city (only 45ish minutes down the road) seemed bigger with rides that were more fun and not nearly the amount of stairs.....plus it's cheaper than big kahuna. The ride I wanted to ride the most was closed down all day along with some rides at the back they considered "overflow". They had slides, pools and a very dirty lazy river(with no tubes avail) which I can go to where I live for 15/person rather than the 180 I blew here. We chose to come here because it was conveniently across the street from where we were staying but the next time, we will just drive into Panama city instead. Shipwreck Island even had water sprinklers/hoses on all sidewalks so your feet wont burn. Now that's what I call customer service, which was severely lacking at big kahunas.

Not worth the money paid. The wave pool is only 5ft, the lazy river is very LAZY!! No real strong current. The tubes were even just chilling and not moving. There is no real adventure park, so don't go looking and its not included in the price. There are only 2 rides at the adventure park. After paying almost $300 for the water park, the rest is $15 per person for the two rides. Some type of adventure. The water slides were OK, but if you're not riding any slides it's a waste of money. Actually, my KIDS used the term BORING and that Geyser Falls (Philadelphia, MS) was way better.

First time at this park, kids loved it! Many slides for big and small, lots of stuff to do. Staff very very attentive. One thing that I didnt like was an awful smell when walking down the stair to get to the wave pool.

I always thought that it was way too small to be worth the price but I thought that what i saw from the road was the whole park. There is a whole other section behind the front part of the park that i never knew existed before actually going there. Being from an area that has a huge WhiteWater near by i can say that this park is better. It does lack many of the big rides but has all the rides a family would want. The kids all love this place more than the beach. Lots of slides that younger kids would like and none of the crazy lines that come with somewhere like WhiteWater. Food and drink are going to be pricey like any other theme park and you cannot bring in food or drinks. Got to get their early if you want to reserve a couple of chairs in the shade. All around very fun place for families with young kids.

Appears to have once been a wonderful course. Due to neglect and complete and utter lack of interest in the public s perception, it has turned into the worst course I have ever visited. Wish I had taken more photos of all the broken down water features, weeds growing out of cups, molded greens, cups full of water. An abandoned course would probably be in just as good of shape or better. It s truly sad with just a bit of effort it could be a wonderful course again. Unless ownership does something, don t waste your time or money.

Rayban sunglasses were lost in one of the pools from the slides. We could clearly see them and asked if we could grab them quickly. The lifeguard rudely announced that she couldn t just delay a ride for the belongings. We had to ask a second lifeguard who directed us to guest services and also denied going to grab the goggles after the lifeguard had already delayed the ride for retrieving HER lost belongings from the pool. We were told to sign out at guest services and come back after a final dive would be done at closing. Came back the next day to retrieve the Raybans and they claimed they didn t find them. Their solution to the problem was I don t know.
