I had a little time so I wanted to enter from before I ate a cake here. A chocolate mousse cake with a name like Mary cake. It is delicious! Quality is also convincing quality. Chocolate mousse is not that heavy, is not it sweetness discreet? Interior decoration is also heavy and good feeling. Customer service was slightly subtle.

3 teas and 3 very sub standard scones cost us 26 euros!!!! What a rip off. The service was slow and the waiter was passing smart comments!! So much for such an iconic place. Would never go there again. I rang to complain and they never got back to me . I think that sums the place up!!

While this place might have changed from the days of yore there is still much to love about Bewley's. I'd recommend trying out their lunch time theatre where you can see a play and get a bowl of soup for around a tenner (depending on what day of the week it is.) That's a bargain by anybody's standards and the plays haven't disappointed me yet. They occasionally do evening shows too which combine a play with a three course dinner, these are good for dates. Something to talk about if things are going badly.

I was really looking forward to the reopening of Bewley's. Unfortunately it didn't deliver on basic expectations which made for a frustrating experience.

Only one menu provided to two. Completely forgotten about by whoever was assigned to take care of our table for ~20min (would still be waiting if I hadn't tried to get the attention of every member of staff passing). Cutlery/napkin only provided for one, despite us both ordering the same thing at the same time.

During our own wait, a woman sat alongside us (note: expect to share tables with ramdomers during peak btw) also had to wait 15min to get some milk for her tea. Getting the bill/payment involved a similar wait.

In terms of food/drinks itself, the coffee & hot chocolate were both good. The scones were bland.

It really appears as though a lot of thought and effort has gone into the redevelopment here. The interior looks unbelievable! If the kinks are worked out on the execution side of things, I think Bewley's is more than capable of becoming an iconic stop off in Dublin once again.

TL;DR Needs improvement. Bewley's needs to figure out how to handle large volumes of people whilst not descending into chaos. Waiting staff need more training.

I passed these premises on a Sunday morning and was glad I stepped in. I was immediately welcomed by helpful waiting staff. I had a cafetiere of tasty coffee and a variety of scone that I had not come across before - Raspberry and White Chocolate. It was served with cream and jam and was very tasty. The downstairs toilets were extremely clean and it was interesting to be able to observe the pastry chefs at work. An enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend it.

Very special experience. Very few places make you feel warm and looked after.

Prices are a different story but you're paying for an experience too.

Very little natural light is seen inside which would be my nitpick.

Overall a lovely place but wouldn't see a religious visit from me a lot.

What a lovely afternoon luncheon in a delightful, upscale environment. Despite the crowd, seating was quick, easy, and the staff is perfect. My partner had savory soup, while I had the famous Chocolate Opera cake with the best White Flat coffee I ve had in Dublin. This is my third time here in as many days; in short, I love this historic landmark, and all types of food are excellent. Simply delightful. I will make it a must do whenever I come to Dublin.

We went here whilst out and about in Dublin for a walk around the city. It was very busy but we were able to find a table. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The food was lovely too, which made it a lovely stop that I would certainly recommend.

***RANT ALERT*** - tldr; Bewley s Grafton Street has an overpriced, mostly-disappointing breakfast

I put aside visiting Bewley s for food until last Tuesday, treating myself to breakfast. The surroundings are lovely, the tree, all of it has been lovingly restored. But it was one of the most shambolic experiences I ve had - and I ve had breakfasts all over town.

So many staff, so many tablets, no bleeding clue. I order my breakfast, get someone back to me 5 minutes later asking if I wanted scrambled or poached eggs. Fair enough. They turn up with this after 10 minutes - a distinctly-lukewarm as opposed to hot breakfast. Toast that was basically warm bread. The ingredients themselves were fine, the sausages and eggs were great but the rasher was chewy and cheap-tasting. Tea was not included and was tiny.

I wanted to bring all this to someone s attention but at that stage I just wanted to get back to my office, but trying to pry the chatting staff away from each other and their busy work proved near impossible; when I did finally get someone s attention, the job of bringing me my bill was delegated - twice.

Having got the bill, I pay by card and go to leave but no, I must wait until the payment cleared (the display kept saying searching for coverage ). At that stage, the employee handed me a receipt, I went to leave but was loudly told my card was DECLINED . Sure enough, it was - though more likely due to a coverage issue as once he tried again nearer the terminal, it went through instantly.

It took me a good ten minutes (therefore no time to complain in person) to pay 17.80 (an outrageous price) for a substandard breakfast, served by underemployed, somewhat clueless staff, when I could pay half that for a superior breakfast in half a dozen places within 3 minutes walk.

I won t be back until Bewley s get real.

Very nice place. During our vacation in Dublin (there were four of us) breakfast at Bewlwy 'grafton Street became a ritual: excellent with unique desserts and good espresso. I also had the pleasure of a typical Irish breakfast, very rich and tasty. At lunch, special dishes are offered for a quick snack. The staff is very kind. A thought and a thank you must be done to Nicoletta, a very good waitress who has always served us advising the best dishes. Although not Italian, he speaks our language in an excellent way. We also met the owner: a very hospitable gentleman. We recommend this nice place to everyone. It will also be a reference for us if we return to Dublin.

Food very expensive. Small portions. One member of staff very rude. I asked for my dish to be heated when I got it cold I called over a waiter who told me the dish comes cold and if I wanted it heated I should have asked for it hot, he walked away before I could tell him I did ask for it hot. Waitress a bit nicer. Would never go back.

Unsurpassed! Cakes that are beautiful to look at and exciting to eat. The staff will accommodate your request, no matter how odd, and bring you everything you want and more. They know what you want before you do! There's a bit of a queue but it moves fast and it's what happens when a place is this good...

45 minutes wait for a pain aux chocolate and a tea, the cup and the pot where both rather dirty, and they even forget the teaspoon, the place look cool, but quality of service is rather low

Really does not deserve any stars coffee was good, cakes were dreadful, service was poor and the manager did not seem surprised about the particular attendant, toilets were clean, but it has a long way to go to even par with the Bewleys I knew

Cakes & coffee - YES; a meal -no.

A little piece of Dublin history. Head down the back to see the Harry Clarke's.

Best thing about this place is the wonderful overhead heaters once you come through the door. On a cold day (and lets face it Dublin always is) this will warm your cockles up in less than 2 jiffies unless you cause a stampede by blocking up the door. The staff are friendly enough that you cannot really get barred from Bewley's unless you do something seriously bad. Inside the door, at the take away counter you can purchase for the most reasonable price ever a cup of the finest hot chocolate with marshmallows and a love heart on the top of it. The food inside is not that bad either.

Excellent cafe with a very traditional style. Variety of cafes for a price between 3.5 or 4 also offers a dessert menu or tea, the quality is very good, but they usually take a long time to assist you because it is a place that is always full of people. The atmosphere is nice and luxurious looking

I used to be a huge fan of Bewley's, it was always a favourite haunt of mine and I would regularly recommend it to friends and family. Since reopening though I have been twice and been horribly disappointed both times. The new queuing system is an awful way of treating loyal customers, both times I've been it was clear the staff are not quick enough to handle this system and get customers into empty tables. I was also shocked to see the sad menu with its handful of sandwich options, what on earth has happened to their amazing lunch menu they used to have?? Do they think they will recover their investment on fancy new pastries alone! On my second visit I ordered an almond milk latte. When my latte had come out the milk had totally separated, so I asked the waitress for a fresh one. My second was the same and before I could make a comment the waitress told me if I'm not happy I can speak to a manager because she will not send the coffee back again and she is not responsible for quality of my coffee. I waited some time for a manager and I politely explained I was not happy with the quality of my coffee. I asked perhaps the baristas are not used to working with almond milk and that I would be happy to take soy milk instead if that was preferable. The manager insisted the baristas were very good. My third latte was the same but at this point I was so disappointed with the whole experience, I did bother trying again. This is not the bewleys I know and love and I will not be returning again.
