This was my first hotel experience since COVID-19 ...
This was my first hotel experience since COVID-19 began and I believe it is important to write this review to help others decide where to stay during these hard times. I honestly did not know what to expect as far as how business was running for hotels. I booked through Booking.com and immediately started to receive text messages from The Salem Inn. Every text was detailed description on how "contactless" my experience would be, where to park, where my room would be, and the codes for my room access, and finally, the code to the main entrance for after hours. If I had any questions, these text messages answered them all. For those that really want to know, a mask is required when walking around the common areas of the hotel. Breakfast, I saw everyone wearing a mask until you are seated of course. While I am on the topic of breakfast, if it is a beautiful morning, sitting outside in the courtyard was so lovely! Very peaceful! The staff was amazing. I had to book contactless on a site called opentable. I was required to do this the night before, and the next day, they didn't receive my reservation. The staff was extremely polite, told me not to worry, asked me what I wanted and showed me to my seat. Superb service, and I believe without such service, I would be writing a 4 star review but the staff indeed earned these 5 stars from me. The room was beautiful and very clean. I stayed in a room that had a Jacuzzi which added to the relaxation I wanted. There are cute birds in the lobby, some awesome Salem, MA postcards, and if you feel like adventuring around the halls they have bookshelves for anything that might catch your eye if you like to read. Also, if you're as lucky as I was, you'll hear a cat roaming the halls. I can assure you, there is no cat in the building. I love Salem! I will be booking here again for my next weekend adventure in Salem.
