This is a great place where you can adopt cats and dogs and buy pet supplies. There is also have a cat and dog food bank in the back of the store when in dire need. I feel they provide you with good amount of food for your pets. My dog is a Chihuahua and they gave me a 17 pound bag of Kibbles and Bits. This will definitely help me and my dog!The pet food is usually ready to be picked up on Tuesday or Thursday 4 pm-7 pm, Saturday 11 am-3pm. They also have cat traps you can borrow to catch pharaoh (wild) cats. Sometimes there are old blankets or toys for free for the pets also. Everyone who works here are always fun, friendly, and understanding! Thank you so much for everything you do Best Friends Animal Society!

These folks really care about the animals they work with. They try very hard to make sure that the personalities of the pets and their potential owners are going to work together. A simply wonderful group of people.

I adopted a dog there took my time went back got everything in order the dog was a beautiful animals but it's not socialized to other animals I live in a high-rise apartment building and every animal in the building he goes after to do damage and I was treated rather curtly I was trying to do the responsible thing and not to be yelled at there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians

These people are passionate about animal welfare! This is a well-run, clean and friendly facility where families can interact with and adopt cats and dogs, as well as volunteer to help with a variety of needs. Stop by and see for yourself! Great people, rest philosophy, great cause.

I took my formally stray cat there, the first time we assumed she had been spayed, but that wasn't the case. Best Friends later spayed her and she is doing great.

This is one of the best places I've ever found to adopt a new family member or help with feral and community cats. They provide help for people who may not be able to afford food for their pets and offer shelters and food to help with the community cat program. Ever vigilant, they also provide traps and cost effective options to get these beautiful cats trapped, neutered and returned to their own turf (TNR'd). This helps lessen the crisis of unwanted cats roaming around and getting hit by cars or being used for other horrible purposes. Best Friends has become a staple in my life as I have had the privilege of working with them while taking care of the cats in my area. I highly recommend stopping in!

They have the cutest cats and dogs here, my girlfriend actually almost convinced me to adopt a 2 month old all black cat today. It was very hard to tell her no, I am sure one day we will adopt a cat from this place.

Annoying how I came once at 10 and then again at 11:30 looking to adopt and bring home a kitty for my son and they were closed! My son and I were both disappointed. What kind of adoption center is still closed this late in the day? I ll go take my business and adopt another loving pet somewhere else.

Best Friends promotes the adoption of pit bulls and other dangerous breeds. Google "pit bull maul" or "pit bull deaths" to see the results of such carelessness where ideology swamps out rational sense.

My 3 year old son was viciously attacked by a cat by the name of creamsicle. I was told there was nothing wrong with him except he needed to be on a special diet so I asked to see him in a separate room with my husband and 3 year old the cat started rubbing against my son and then attacked him for no reason. I will never return to this establishment and I will tell everyone I know what happened.

Could not get any employees to assist me with selecting a pet. Weber Animal Control was a lot more friendly and found us a perfect match.

Can't even talk to anyone in the phone!! Been trying to call for over an hour!! Then they refer you to the website! Not very personable, called the humane society, they picked up the phone immediately and answered all my questions!! Humane Society of Utah it will be!!

Excellent way to entertain our self's during the lockdown. It's so much fun watching them grow and learn new thing's. Just what we needed to fulfill our lives.

I volunteer here and this is the best place to adopt a cat or a dog. They are a no kill shelter.

Need to showcase small dogs also. Gone multiple times and no dog under 30 lbs.

I bought a kitty from this shelter and they are so amazing if you ever want to adopt an animal I highly recommend this place! They are so caring to all of there animals I could tell every staff member truly and genuinely cared about all the animals! They are a non kill shelter they take really good of the animals the place is very clean the animals are very clean the staff is very nice! And if you are looking to put your animal up for adoption I would definitely recommend best friends they are so caring and sweet they will definitely take good care of them.

I have a pit and she is nothing but lovings and cuddles and a big ball of energy. It's all in how you train them and how much love you give them.

I love best friends animal shelter! You can adopt here as well as a number of other things. It's right next to Sugar House Coffee in case you get the caffeine craving kick while you are visiting with the puppies. I want to adopt from here SO bad. They do a number of different love adoption things at different locations and it's always a good time. They care about every animal that walks in and that doesn't walk in, good people with plenty of love to give!

Wanted to talk to a real person about best animal shelter to take a cat that was abandoned and best chances for it to go into a pet adoption progam. Have left email, no response. This isn't just with Best Friends, with several others. I'm sure there sadly are so many animals needing help your overwhelmed, and you can't save them all. Would be nice to be able to speak to a real person

Use a real vet, these guys are soooo unprofessional and may kill your friend. Even if it was free I wouldn't bring an animal I love here.

Awful service. My roommate and I went in to look at some potential dogs for adoption. No body greeted us when we walked in, but we assumed they were busy, so we walked around and look for a few minutes under the assumption they would greet us when they were finished. Nobody came over, so finally my roommate walked over to ask for help, and was told very rudely that we couldn t meet any of the dogs because they were only for people looking to adopt. They didn t bother to ask us why we were there, or offer any help. They simply made an incorrect judgement call on why we were there, and very rudely and condescendingly shut us down.

Animals are all well cared for in this small facilty managed to showcase all shelter animals throughout the valley. Cost of adoption is considerably less than if the same animal is adopted from the pound!

The people who work there are beyond helpful and attentive. Not only did they help me, they offered other suggestions, as i was adopting a rescue dog....

After some initial confusion about my appointment, the staff was very accommodating. In general, this is an awesome and affordable program.

I love this place, they are so awesome, their cause is amazing. They also help me with the feral cat colony I take care of, from food, trapping and getting them fixed! This place is great for those who are considered low income with pets.

We took our uncle's cat to the Orem clinic to get neutered and vaccinated.
The cost was much lower than the Humane Society and we were able to have it done on a Saturday. I was very nervous about the surgery but he did fine. The cat had been treated for ear mites 3 weeks prior but they double checked and found he still had them. They gave him another treatment and went above and beyond by cleaning out the gunk in his ears. I believe they truly care about animals. I had email and phone communication with them beforehand. They were very professional and answered all of my questions.

This place is Great! I feed community cats and they help me. They give me food and such. They also have given me 4-5 bags each time I went of dog food when I told them that I go to the senior community center and that there's low income seniors whom could use dog food. I've always picked up treats to hand out to all the dogs which is nice for them and there owners. I brought applications back a while back and handed them out to those in need. I actually had to fill out the applications online and since I was going to pick up food I picked up food for 5 other people. The employees are very kind. You can volunteer there and help all those animals we all love so much.

The staff was great to answer my questions and provide me with information on adoption. It's obvious that the staff members love animals and they love what they do!

We got our second dog here and she's the sweetest pup

Very friendly staff. The animals are kept well and we were able to pet the cats. I brought my granddaughter who is four. It is was a highlight for her to go there.

Do not adopt a dog from this place for any reason. They give false information. There's no exchange. if they have volunteers they know nothing about the dog to make sure it is a right fit for the customers .you have to go to the shelter then wait 10days to get another dog because they say the smell has to leave your house .

Liked this place friendly people takes awhile to do paperwork and everything. All the questions they ask really do help get you the pet you really will connect with and if it doesn't work out you can always take them back for free.

There are no words to describe how incredible the work is that Best Friends does. The Sugarhouse facility is impeccable, the staff and volunteers are extremely dedicated and the animals are, well, they're awesome. They are in desperate need of homes and all are worthy companions. Adopt. ALWAYS adopt.

Great place. You can go play with the cats for free! Adoption prices are reasonable, but if you want a kitten/puppy can be kinda expensive. If you're feeling generous, you can also donate the adoption fee for a pet!

Adopted a puppy here today during Best Friend's "Puppy Palooza" and she's a pretty cute puppy. Well taken care of by the people that fostered her and she was spayed and chipped already which is great. Nice people working there. Good place.

I wanted to post as a heads up to anyone that goes to adopt during another such palooza, the line got long very quickly. Started at 11am we got there at 11:30am and waited an hour and 20 mins to get in and when we left there were 6 dogs left out of the 32 they started with at 11am. Also, If you already have a dog they ask that you bring it in to meet the dog you're adopting.

So plan to go early.

We adopted a cat here. The people are absolutely wonderful and provide a great service to the world. Cat was healthy and well loved. The world really needs more places like this.
