Beaverhill Bird Observatory

Wonderful hidden gem in Alberta. The perfect place for getting your daily dose of Vitamin N. Beautiful nature walks, peaceful and a great place for birding.

Great place to see migratory birds on May and Banding of Owls in fall

Awesome place to volunteer if bird banding is within your interests. Field staff that are out there during the banding season are very friendly and welcoming. The area is great for birding with a great diversity of species during the summer months.

Not for the faint of heart. But a brisk challenging walk always enjoyable at this time of year.

Brought our Pathfinder unit out to observe the owl banding. It was such a memorable experience! I still can t quite believe that these owls could be passing through my yard. I have also been fortunate enough to interact with several of the BBO educational owls and raptors. So special to see these birds up close. Such a great organization!

A favorite walking place for me and my wife. We have been three times now in spring, summer, and early winter (Nov 11). Waterfowl at the weir are skittish but always some friendly, curious birds at the feeders.

Welcoming staff at banding station. Good opportunity to study birds.

Truly one of the best kept secrets of Alberta. Great facilities and superb people. Make the BBO your destination for your birding adventures and also your charitble donations.
