This is an Apple Flagship store in every meaning of the word "flagship." The staff is second to none, the store is huge, and they have dozens of everything for you to try out... meaning that even on a busy, crowded day you're likely to be able to check out the latest Apple gadgets. If you need to go in for technical help or support, make a reservation. If you simply walk in off the street without a reservation be prepared to wait 20-120 minutes for an opening, depending on how crowded it is. Fortunately, since it's located on the Third Street Promenade you can find plenty of shops, restaurants, or street performers to keep you occupied while you wait for your turn at the genius bar.

After going through the entire Support process on the phone , I received a Case ID. It was determined that my 9 month old iPhone 7 had a hardware problem. I had a critical workday ahead of me the next day and not having a working phone would be a disaster. I asked the rep on the phone (Jessie*****) to call ahead and see if he could lock down a time for me that night at the Apple Store in Santa Monica. He tried and was unable to get through, so he suggested I rush down there and offer to wait if I couldn't secure a spot with the Genius folks.
I arrived at 7:30PM and the store was scheduled to close at 9PM. I was informed that they didn't have an open spot so like Jessie suggested, I offered to wait until closing in case any of the appointments fell through. I was told I couldn't even be put on the list. I said that I would wait the hour and a half at this spot in the store. I was told there was nothing they could do that night. I set up a meeting for the next day, knowing that my workday would be wasted until I had a phone.
Today I returned at 11AM (the first spot available) and was met by a smiling, very helpful employee (sorry, I forgot her name). It took all of MAYBE five minutes tops from the time I walked in until I walked out with a new phone.
If someone could have helped me for five minutes during the hour and a half I was willing to wait last night I wouldn't have missed a half day of work. I didn't expect everyone to suddenly drop what they were doing to help me last night. But once I had gone through everything that Apple needed me to do, I was hoping that perhaps someone there would have taken my offer to wait and maybe solve my problem.
So in conclusion some of the folks at this Apple Store were great and some, not so much.

This place is so awesome! They have the nicest staff, who are all very tech savvy. They all seem pretty approachable and personable. I thought I was going in there to get a new phone and a phone case, but I also got therapy. Of course it was time to get a new phone because my contract was up, but that old phone reminded me of every little detail about my ex and a suffocating job (which I quit). It was time to start anew. I came in there not really knowing what I wanted. I only knew that I did not want that old phone anymore. At first, it was hard to make a decision because they usually like to know what you're looking for. I almost blurted out, "Something that gives me freedom!!" But, glad I didn't. Because I had lost myself in that toxic job and relationship, I wanted to find myself again. I spent a lot of time being stagnant. I realized I was not growing as a person, so I wanted something to help me feel more self-sufficient and free. Using the map application on the new phone is so easy. I don't have to rely on anyone over my head for "help". The cool camera features are right up my alley as well! The organization tools are exactly what I need too. You never know what you're going to find when you're barely looking. That day at Apple, I found myself.

I had to come into this Apple store to have my laptop repaired. It was brand new and having software issues right off the back. I brought it in and was helped by the absolute best employee named Sarah. She is bright, intelligent, and a delightful person to speak with. Sarah was able to run all the diagnostic tests right there and fix the laptop. Apple is very lucky to have her an an employee.

I'm not huge on Apple products, but their earbuds are one of a kind and have been wanting to get a pair for a while now. My first time going to an Apple store. The ambiance of the store is much different than others, but it seems like a challenge to establish purchasing lines in rows and columns of products.
A store clerk comes up to me asking me for assistance, and me being new to the store, I asked about the store and said "I'm not entirely big on Apple products, but I am looking for earphones". This clerk got so disinterested with me, he just half-listened to what I was saying while attempting to scope out older, more important-looking customers , went through the motions of assistance, ASSUMED that I wasn't going to spend big money, and gave off this vibe that the company's overall mentality could very well be represented as: pretentious and exclusive. This being the case as to why I don't buy Apple products much.
I was actually considering getting a new iPhone here since it's near where I work and just wanted to experience the store's quality before I make a heavy purchase. But now I know the employees at this location have set a scale of priority on their customers. At this location, it doesn't matter to them whether or not some customers get treated like absolute crap, because they will always have new customers thirsting and trekking for their brand, and that the concept of the loyal customer means nothing to them.
Two stars because the guy did give me general assistance and the store looks great, but I would never shop here again only because the employees made me, the willing customer who's shoveling hard-earnerd money out of his wallet for products from THIS company, feel unimportant.

I love Apple products but very disappointed with my latest visit to resolve degrading battery performance in my IPad. My third party battery app shows a degraded battery but my only option is to purchase a new IPad. The Apple store tech shows only 20 percent degradation but my app, and my experience shows greater wear as the IPad battery life as noticeably decreased. It really felt like they only want me to buy a new product, not maintain current products that otherwise perform fine. I will look for other tablet options in the future.
2 Problems in 2 Months
2 Problems in 2 Months
1. Ordered a phone for pick-up on 12/21/2018. I was told after 6pm that my phone had still not arrived to the store for pick-up. Called online to cancel my order as I wasn't going to be able to pick it up for 3 weeks after this date, and they wouldn't hold onto the phone for that long. The service rep on the phone tracked the shipping and showed that the item had arrived at 11am (7 hours before I went to the store) the day the phone was due. So someone in receiving just hadn't bothered to scan in the item ready for pick-up. And I'd already been charged for the phone.
2. Brought in my wife's iphone 6s for repair, as it wouldn't charge. The tech said her charging port was corroded, but they couldn't replace it "because it's part of the whole phone." He said our only options were to purchase a replacement for $299 (for a refurbished iPhone 6s), or check our carrier to see if we had insurance to replace the phone. I found a replacement part online for $5.45, about $12 with 2-day shipping, and was able to replace the part myself in under 20 minutes.
This store needs some serious training and staff replacement. My order on 12/21 had arrived long before I came in to pick it up, so there's no excuse for it to have not been made ready for me. The repair my wife's phone needed was simple and cheap but Apple said it wasn't possible and wanted us to spend another $300+ to buy another phone.
They don't care about the customer, only how much they can get you to spend at their store.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Took this store an entire week to repair a problem I was told (by them) would take half an hour. And when I called to speak with the manager about the situation I was met with a condescending attitude. The manager (Eddy I believe is his name) mocked me over the phone when I expressed how upset I was that the repair had taken so long. I will never be going back to this store again.

I have enjoyed many visits to the current store. The last three experiences were disappointing. Other customers felt the exact same way.
The experiences have been less than professional of late. Very rude employees. As a whole it seems to me they are understaffed and unorganized, this may lead to tension.
There are a few outstanding employees, but is the minority.
I observed a salesman ask a girl for out on a date, while guests were waiting, lined up out the door.
This is no longer the super savvy information based store. Maybe the Century City store has a foot up.
I went on the web and confirmed my iPhone battery ...
I went on the web and confirmed my iPhone battery was one with a bad battery and would be replaced if it was malfunctioning. The website had me make an appt at this apple store. I live in Santa Monica and I HATE the promenade. There is no parking, I hate the crowds and it is a pain in the butt to find any store in this outdoor orgy of consumerism. But my phone is only holding a charge for a few hours at this point so I figure I'll just have to suck it up. Get in and get out and it will be over quick. NOT!
I show up and am told to "squeeze in over there" and a finger is pointed toward a table which already has all the seats taken, at the back of the store with the word "genius" on it. So I wait, 10 minutes later a 20 something "genius" walks out and calls my name but cannot hear me because the place is massive and full of hipsters all talking and yelling over each other. I have to get up and go over to her to get her attention before she moves onto the next sucker, I mean customer. I tell her why I am there and she starts to tell me to do a back-up. I tell her I just did one. "Please replace my battery". She says she has to check it out first and spends about 2 minutes running a "test". She then tells me "yup your battery is bad and there are no other problems. We don't have it in stock. You'll have to come back in a couple of weeks as we have to order it." Seriously! This store is the size of a football field and you don't have the battery for the iPhone 5 in stock that you made me make an appointment to have changed? Its a defective battery, you sold it, and you know its gonna need replaced so you don't bother to have it available? 1,000 of them cannot take more room than box of copy paper!
This was the biggest waste of my time ever. I was a Mac user since 1986 and they have progressively gotten worse and worse and worse. I have given up on apple computers as they are now way overpriced, intended to be obsolete as fast as possible and a pain to get anything fixed or upgraded on. I bought the first iPhone and hated its unreliable and glitchy system. Within weeks I had to trade it in for a blackberry. I stayed away a LONG time. Finally, 18 months ago I decided to try another iPhone. They must have gotten it right finally or they wouldn't be so popular? I figured. Obviously WRONG!
I am sick of the jealous boyfriend called "iTunes" who won't let me talk to any other file management programs, and I am sick of their attitude that they are doing me a favor having me come into their hot, loud and crowded "store". NewsFlash Apple. I don't like spending time running errands to get my cell to work. I don't like the after school hangout spot you call the "applestore" and its not fun for me to visit it! My phone is not a toy or a hobby. Its a very expensive tool I use and count on. I cannot wait weeks to have a battery that functions. If you didn't want to have to deal with these types of problems than just make the damn battery user accessible. Oh, wait, I forgot, you don't want me to be able to talk to any other electronics manufacturers. There you go again you jealous ass! You don't own me!
Would I ever set foot in that hipster hangout called "The AppleStore"? Hell no! Will I be buying another apple product anytime soon? Hell no.

Purchased my iPhone and three mac desktops at this location. This is a very spacious and busy store, but the employees who assisted me were friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The pro s about Apple is that although I am paying a premium for the Apple products, I really do like the quick and easy set up for use. However, the con s is that it seems like I m constantly and annoyingly having to update and learn new ways to use the programs such as iMovie.

DON'T BUY HERE, buy it online ... Used to a big apple fan-girl because of the service they offered, however this store has put me off in-store purchases. Couldn't believe my eyes--they will do everything in their power to prevent you from returning your product.. spoke with a service girl, Fritzi who actually laughed at me that I couldn't get a refund amid covid-19. Wait wait wait for a rotten apple. Horribly managed. I get it when a doctor makes people wait, people come in with "emergencies" that could be life or limb threatening that take extra time, but this is inert stuff. It takes 2-4 days to get an open slot, then 10 minutes to find the right person to get checked in, then 30-70 minutes to talk to a "genius" . And it's the only place you can go for fixing paid for warranty issues that occur on average about once every 6 months. Disappointed, frustrated and stuck by the duopoly .

My experience here was terrible! I ve used this store for many years and have purchased many computers here, as well as cell phones. But now it is all different. The people are very rude and unhelpful, just about refusing to lift a finger. When I went today at 10 AM hoping to beat the rush and pick up my brand new top-of-the-line MacBook air, it was all I could do to get someone to go in the back and bring computer out. I had had all my data copied from my old computer, and the sales person wouldn t even open the box for me to inspect the changes. Someone else had to help and that guy Could not be bothered. I would have been just as well off buying the computer online. I am a journalist and will be sure to tell the public how disgraceful this store is. Whatever happened to simple courtesy? Never again!
