Ticket prices have skyrocketed. And now you have to pay twenty bucks to park. If you don't your car is a mile away and you have to climb onto an open air cattle truck and stand while hanging on. Stupid process. It used to be nice to go to the lodge and watch the skiers but you can't do that anymore.

I have tried many skis in my mountainous adventures life when I came across this place. I made a decision that turned my winter vacations into
a mesmerizing trip so we purchased our Snowboard Gear from winterwarehouse .Running down and dodging the trees became a skill I could easily master thanks to the dynamism of the skis and their shape that hold tight on my feet. They really masters of hospitality and I can't wait
going back this year as well.

Gorgeous snow, awesome features. Your full day pass will work at both bear mountain and snow summit, go to summit for beginner features, go to bear for harder slopes. Parking is free, sometimes they run shuttles between the two, but thats for busier days. It was definitely worth the extra drive to snowboard bear, the snow was beautiful

Awesome as always. I wish they had an intermediate slope somewhere in there though. The beginner slope feels like it's for absolute beginners and the path for the next level up weaves through black diamond levels so it gets pretty intimidating.

I love Bear! I went with my son who is 8. We had a great time skiiing. I was most impressed with the runs. They were so well covered even though we did not have much snow. There is an element here with the kids. You can't escape the cursing, cutting and vaping... but I did not let it ruin our day.

Everyone hates on Big Bear but I love it! Even with out natural snow, they blow enough man made to make it happen. Always fun even if conditions aren't ideal. Yes, of course Mammoth is amazing but Bear is closer to me and I always have a blast.

Such a fun experience learning to snowboard. The staff are helpful and give you tips when they realize its your first time. I'm glad there's a section for all newbies. Definitely makes you feel like you're not alone. Got to witness some amazing kids on the slopes. They do sell food and have free water cups. The burger was delicious. Looking forward to going again

My sister and I had our very first experience skiing and was instructed by 2 amazing instructors. Di, and Warren. Di was so experienced and taught us the basics in no time, made us feel like professionals. And Warren was absolutely hilarious, cracking us up while making sure we were safe at all times. Both the instructors really gave us an amazing experience and I couldn't thank them enough. Thanks Di and Warren!! Can't wait to see you guys again!

Beautiful slopes--especially for snow boarders. Hint: Stay at Comstock Condos. They have secure parking that goes with your stay as well as private ski in ski out access to the slopes. Best kept secret!

Hands down favorite / best spot to shred in the SoCal area beside Mammoth. Close enough for a quick day trip from LA / SD, far enough to get away from it all and get a breath of some fresh San Bernardino Nat l Forest air. Bear is one of the original pioneers in the terrain park movement that began in the 90s. They built some of the first terrain parks in the US and have been putting together some of the most creative and fun terrain lines since. A lot of semi-pros and pros ride here regularly because of it, and it is a great spot to progress and deepen that bag of tricks at. They also have an awesome video series called Sunday in the Park where they compile some awesome clips from well-known riders on a weekly basis. They do park rebuilds almost weekly as well.

Food wise, it s as expected, not bad, but not phenomenal, and typically overpriced. Par for any ski resort area in my opinion. I usually pick a sandwich and some fruit and I m good for the day. Instructors seem very good and helpful, though I ve never taken direction myself. Staff is great, usually very friendly and helpful.

They have regular events such as concerts, Super Bowl / sports viewing parties, give always, etc. Every handful of years they get a big snow dump and can offer up some of the best powder riding & tree lines in the area. Considering this resort is almost surrounded on all sides by desert, Bear is a snow paradise, and a riders oasis any year.

Bear is like a second home to me. It is where I learned how to snowboard, met so many great long time friends (employees and fellow riders) and have progressed myself on the park and mountain. The ikon pass has been a really great way to access mountains across the state and country. Highly suggest stopping by bear!

I have been going here for years and i always enjoy spending the day riding here. One downside to this resort is the fact that it is made mainly based off a very park oriented style. Not many runs without park obstacles on them

Too expensive of a mountain. $100 lift pass to wait 45 minutes up a lift and 5 minutes to ride down. Get hauled up like cattle when the parking gets full and it does get full. Go to Mammoth instead.

Only 2 lifts available. Very little snow. Customer service is extremely rude except for the rentals section, second day we went we had a pass we bought a week prior but we weren t allowed in because we didn t have an icon pass as well. No refunds offered and currently have been on hold for 30 minutes with the same message you are on hold playing every 15 seconds. The snowboarders there have very little consideration for anyone, I saw multiple people including myself get taken out by people who don t know how to stop or turn. Mountain is overly crowded with less than 3 yards between every single person. Even when you re stopped on the very edge of the course people still come speeding inches from you despite having the entire course to maneuver around. In the ski lift lines people carelessly cut in front of everyone, very unorganized. In the last hour or so when there aren t hundreds of people boarding at same time it s very fun, but this customer service experience has been dreadful. Don t come if you don t have season pass

I would rate this above North Carolina skiing but not by much. The runs are not labeled accurately. For instance the blacks or double blacks would be blues at any ski resort in the Rockies. I went there with my family when we were on extended vacation on the coast of southern California. For a day trip it was fine but I wouldn't recommend staying more than a day as the mtn is small and you can ski the whole thing multiple times throughout the day. The drive up the mountain is very windy and our rental SUV nearly couldn't handle it. On the way down you are riding your brakes the whole way. The snowboarders are typical and explain why boarders get such a bad rap. They boarded like they owned the place and one literally took my wife out. Hit her from behind and swept her legs out from underneath her knocking both skis off. The boarder got up and took off. Didn't bother to check on her or anything. I suppose the bright side of this is that my wife was skiing directly behind our 8 year old who probably would've been injured severely had my wife not taken the brunt of the blow. Bottom line: if you're a local boarder who enjoys to toke it up then this place is for you , brah. If you're a family then go to Tahoe or the Rocky Mtns.

Great place to go to learn how to ski or snowboard. They have lessons every hour or so to help to get the hang of things. When your ready to go by yourself theres multiple courses to go. For snowboarding they have a half pipe. Amazing place for a vacation

Amazing place, California has it all.
Big bear mountain ski resort, has good facilities, all the staff are very friendly, spending the day in the mountains is a dream. First time in big bear, I want to go back, the food as in all ski centers is a bit expensive, but the place is worth 100%

great overall mountain. It's just usually over crowded with beginners who have no board/ski etiquette. Last time I got run into by a beginner so bad that I needed stitches. Not worth it. So I'm sticking with Summit instead. Although I do have the "Both Mountains" season pass.

For California snowboarding its good. The runs are limited for a resort, there's only a few of them, and it's definitely geared more toward snowboarding than skiing. But its awesome for a local ski trip. The instructors are really good, but I didn't like that they cut my lesson time short because of less people.
